This is great stuff by you guys, I love that your knowledge is spot on about it, not that I expected anything less given your quotes about it for so many years on the PS Access channel!
Have seen too many RUclips reacters recently that just haven't a clue and don't follow the details about the films at all. Always nice to hear like-minded nerds that admire these films just as much as I do!

I've been a lurker on PS Access for a long time and think you're all very entertaining and interesting people. I adore video games and movies alike and I'm so happy to have found this channel right as you start talking about LOTR. I could write a comment that would take the runtime of this video to read but I will avoid doing so. I'm genuinely excited for the next two films and your thoughts and comments because you're an absolute joy to listen to and are truly wonderful at what you do. Also, I love (some of) the Alien movies so I'll be making my way through those videos shortly and I've never been into nor seen much of Star Trek so I'll be interested to see if you can convince me to check it out properly. Again, you're all great entertainers and have fun insights and opinions and I'm looking forward to the rest of what this channel provides.

This is fantastic! I loved Nath's recap of P. Jackson's career and the in-depth discussion of the lore. My wife and I just rewatched the movies for the first time since release, so this comes at the perfect time!
Also, I just "discovered" this channel and am thrilled. I have followed PSAccess for years, now I get to follow my favorite Boyz for movies, too! I look forward to listening to all your content!

Never got to watch the trilogy when it was released in theatres. Just watched the Blu-ray extended. Fortunately, the extended versions were re-released this summer in the theatres. My family and I loved it! ❤

ooh you know I hadn't thought that hard about the Army of the Dead in Return of the King before, but I also think it's one of my least favourite things about that film. It's a kind of Deus Ex Machina, it wasn't implemented in an interesting way, it was just like a wave that appeared suddenly and dealt with the 'how will we deal with being overwhelmed in a battle' situation. The old 'cavalry has arrived' is such a tired old trope in Warfare movies I find, and the Army of the Dead was that x10. It meant that later on we lose the impact we get from the war being won after the ring is destroyed, because we had already seen the Army of the Dead basically wipe out a whole army like they were nothing, it was much more satisfying seeing the battle for Middle Earth being refocused on Mount Doom where it's more of a metaphorical battle over willpower. So when that battle is won, we then see the armies of darkness being wiped off the face of the map, and I just felt that lost a bit of impact all because we had already witnessed the Army of the Dead turn a whole army of orcs to mush like they were nothing.

Hello, I am going to write something very complimentary in a minute but for now I'd just like to say that Gimli uses the axe of the Dwarf next to him to strike the ring. Though, he does appear to magic up his own axe out of nowhere when offering his help to Frodo. He also gets his big double sided battle axe (Labrys, maybe?) in Balin's Tomb while fighting the Cave Troll.

When Gimli is thrown off the broken tomb, the two headed axe is beside where he lands

Trilogy is an absolute masterpiece - unsure how the IP has been ruined since outside of studio interferance (which is probably the route cause). I wasn't a fan of The Hobbit films - reading up on those films; it sounds like the studio was rushing Peter Jackson and co to deliver the films.

Not convinced by Rob's analysis on Galadriel, but because he gives the impression that he has not read the book, though he probably has, but Cate Blanchett's performance gets across in a short time, the temptation for her, and aspects of her character, compared to the time taken in the book

I do love these, if I'm honest I felt the entire production history of Bad Taste went on a bit long though, I like the early history of Peter Jackson's career being discussed but I don't think I needed as much of a lengthy description of it as we got because the whole time I'm just thinking 'can't wait till we get to the bit about Lord of the Rings'.

Knowing nothing of LOTR whatsoever when I watched the movie, I honestly thought Boromir was going to come back at some point because no way they would kill off a main character. Who does that? Then the movie ended and I wondered where the hell is the rest of the story. And that's how I came to completely disliking the movie when I was younger.

Putting it in the context of Peter Jackson's career makes you appreciate the LOTR trilogy even more though. Having a modest director like him taking on such a insanely massive project really shouldn't have worked so the fact he pulled it is just as remarkable as the films themselves.
