Like always awesome tips in clear instructions. I just made my grandson a king size tee shirt quilt. It was a beast to quilt it. Also to bad I threw all the left over tee shirts out. Good thing both granddaughters want on also.
Great tutorial and you always look so glamourous. I love your videos . My best friend here in Australia is called Laura and I am glad to see you are another lovely and talented Laura.
What a great idea and a great way to use my husband's old t-shirts. You only need so many rags, then what? Now I know!! Thanks Laura!! Another great tip!!
Just fascinating to see how you cut these strips and joined the ends. I haven't crocheted since the 1970's (have yet to knit) but I thoroughly enjoyed the purse I made back then. I could see this for a very relaxing project. I'll just need to find the right size container to hold the ball of yarn so it doesn't run away from me as I pull out the strip. I'd love it if you showed some pictures of what you ended up making with it and what size crochet hook you used for it, and maybe even how to do some simple crochet stitches for it. Or maybe I'll just need to get off the couch and do my own homework instead of looking over your shoulder for all my crafting problems. It's just that I know your "answer sheets" will always help me get straight A's on my report card. :-) Thanks, Laura.
Good work, Laura. I'd love to make a t-shirt yarn, if it definitely looks like a magic yarn into t shirts or something like that.👕 Is it between 1-2 inches in each marks before it cuts the line? I think it's better to measure the length and width of the t-shirt to cut them down the edges. 🤔 Make sure to cut the angles very carefully before it stretches up the fabrication of an old t-shirts. Mostly, it rolls up the ball or even the cake. What if it runs out, if so, I can add some more yarn and then I tie it into an invisible knot without seeing. It's amazing, thanks. 😊
Hi! Laura,. I have to say you are a very pleasing person to listen to and I love your tortuals. I would like to make a t shirt rug but can you recommend something to put on the back side that would make it slip resistant.. thank you 😊
Aw.. thank you for the tutorial how to make a t-shirt yarn.. i will buy another kind of yarn after this because t-shirt yarn are totally not cheap in my country 🥲 they are wayyy too expensive for a single t-shirt yarn.. i can't always afford that to make a purse.. thanks again!
very helpfull, thank you. Would like to make bathroom rugs with a tshirt yarn. Thinking to pleat it from 3 strips into a long braid and sew with a sewing mashine zig zag seam into a circle.
I was wondering how to attach the different colors of t-shirts together ? Thank you for sharing !! Got my t-shirts at the thrift store today and i am cutting them now :) lol
I always use the binding, turning it into yarn also, i just cut off the stitching part and its basically the same as the other pieces. I also don't mind using the painted part, I personally don't like to waste it.
Do you know how many t-shirts it takes to make enough yarn for a rug? I have a bunch of shirts and I am doing stuff with some of them but I also want to make a rug. I am planing to do one with the scraps I have left and I want to do one with t-shirt yarn like this too.
good question and I really have no idea. It would all depend on the shirts, how thick, how much stretch, what needle...you get the idea. I am just going to start and keep going. When I have run out of shirts I will use it until I get another and then add some more!
I don't understand this video. At the beginning you say that you have a lot of t-shirt PIECES left from the quilts but you use only complete t-Shirts in the video. Is ther a proper way to use scraps or the sleeves to make yarn as well?
I only used the top part of most of the t-shirts so I was able to use the rest for the yarn. And the sleeve I just used for rags. I didn't find I got enough from them!
I know that this is a year later but I have found this for you if you haven't seen it already. ruclips.net/video/e-UOc9RHdAY/видео.html This woman uses the whole t-shirt for her yarn.
Laura i have epitaphium i will cut my ex t shirts and make a t shirt jarn crochet rug so I can stamp on him each time when I am mad for him hahaha haha and I let my dog such on this after coming from walk haha haha ..........

All these years later, this vid still rocks. And I'm wondering if you ever did anything with that big ball!

What a great idea and a great way to use my husband's old t-shirts. You only need so many rags, then what? Now I know!! Thanks Laura!! Another great tip!!

Ugh! I tossed the pieces of the t-shirts that I cut for my husbands t-shirt quilt. I don't knit or crochet, but maybe I should learn
