OH. MY. GOD!!! I have watched a multitude of videos and I could not understand how to cut the strips so that they made one long strip. I would always end up in tears, frustrated and convinced I was stupid. However!!!! I finally found your video and thank you so much for using the paper! That is what I think made the difference! You're the bestest!
So glad I found your video. Your instructions were so easy to follow and I matched your paper-cutting step-by-step with some paper of my own. Success! Some other videos I’ve found confusing but yours was great. Greetings from Wales, U.K. 🇺🇸🇬🇧🏴
Keep chatting. That's how we get to know each other. I have made a few crocheted fabric rugs before, from old sheets, shirts, etc. I only knew to cut them in strips and then joining them was tricky. This is cool. Thanks for showing it.
I just came across your video. I really enjoyed watching and listening to your thoughts and even your washing machine and washroom story. It was very helpful and entertaining. Thank you for sharing.
Knew of this quite a while ago, but couldn’t remember exactly how to do it. THANK YOU. So simple and time-saving. This eliminates the tedious part of some of the things I want to do.😁
hi thank you so much. this is the easiest way I have seen yet. I have tried everything. thank you. I do have to keep watching it because I still cut through sometimes. thank you very much.
Thank you for sharing this! I love to make crocheted rag rugs and this will save me so much time! I usually cut long strips on a sheet then do the slit and knot method, but this will save a lot of time! ❤❤❤
You did an AMAZING job! Even though you were not satisfied with your work station, your lighting…or your camera (phone)😏I REALLY ENJOYED your video! I learned a lot❤
Thanks for the video. I did something like this out of T-shirts but wanted the details for using a sheet. You delivered! I’ll be watching your other videos.
I Love this video you are so easy to follow it's crazy I watch a lot of videos I am dyslexic and things are backwards to me and something about you saying sitting on the floor and doing it made me pay attention better I am 57 years old and lost my husband last year to covid-19 and just trying to find something to keep my mind and hands busy so Thank you very much My name is Peppa Houston not James Lol
No wonder your scissors aren't sharp... fabric scissors only cut fabric.. not paper. "Uh oh. Beginning to sound like my clothing design teacher.." can't wait to try this out... Finally a recycle method for my husbands fab cotton shirts as not wearable when cuffs are ruined. Doing this tonight! Thanks for sharing 😊
Hi there, have you made any Tarn out of t-shirts that have any polyester in them? I've got several T-shirts from my deceased fiance and I'd like to do something with those as well and some have polyester in them. Thank you in advance ❤️
I've always loved this idea. I've made quite a bit of trivets/hot pads using odds & ends of fabric. I have plans to make a few rugs from some old uniform shirts that are knit fabric. And keep chatting & being YOU. It makes videos interesting to me to get to know everyone better. I actually prefer these videos to just boring straight presenters. 🎃🎃🎃 I love Fall & Winter also.
I am going to try this method, it appears to be easier for me than most others that I've viewed. I just do not want to have to sew the strips like I did with the material that I used. Will let you if it worked out for me. I may cut them in batches - my table is not big enough and the floor may not work out for me :) will update when I'm done - wish me luck!
Yes I Love this way of making things sometimes we always learn something new everyday & I'm really enjoying this beautiful amazing thing,s that I've been watching other ladies that have these amazing gifted telent & pretty ideas cause I'm really trying to do things for me & it does help to make gifts as well ty for sharing your thoughts on doing things differently on your videos it's a beautiful Blessing 🤗🙂💐
You are a good little instructor. The paper made it very visible smart lady. I would like to see a completed project with this yarn. That would be fun. Thanks for the share
We always buy the sheet sets but never use the flat sheet. It always just ends up scrunched up at the bottom of the bed anyway so we just use the fitted sheet & pillow cases so I have TONS OF the same sheets just folded in the closet. This will now be my weekend project!
😊 Thank you for sharing this as unlike Continuous Bias tape, it does not require any sewing to produce. I have yet to try this method, which I will very soon. I have a query, tho? To produce bias tape fabric is cut on the bias, so it does not fray as will the fabric you've demonstrated cut on the straight. I'm 🤔 thinking, and it must be possible to cut it how you have, but cut it at a 45-degree angle. Geeky Bobbin has an excellent RUclips tutorial called ULTIMATE Continuous Bias Binding if of use to you 🎉 P.S. I enjoyed your demonstration tremendously
This is amazing I have some old saris and have looked everywhere for a tutorial. Thank you hours was greAt especially using the paper example. Big Thank you x
You know, on an off-topic note, it would take very little effort for you to do an impression of Kristen Schaal. (You're voice is way more relaxing 😊👌💜)
I've seen a few videos for this..and I have to say..this is a big hassle lol..I mean the time it takes to make the yarn..hours and hours to make enough for anything large. Maybe this would be good for a pot holder. .but a real rug large enough for the floor. Nah..I'd rather just buy fat yarn.

Also if you if (trim) round off each of the ends it gives the strand more of a finished look.
This is the best video I have found. Not difficult, easy to understand and no expensive craft supplies, Thank you so much
Excellent! A great way to get an inexpensive yarn, thank you! 👌

Loved how you used paper to demonstrate that's how I finally learned without messing up

I enjoy the chatting as well. Nothing worse than a silent video....except one with music. Lol. Have a great day Charlotte!
I like to cut paper that way. I tell my children I can cut a hole in a peace of paper big enough I can fit through.
You are a good little instructor. The paper made it very visible smart lady. I would like to see a

I'm the same way.
Wow amazing. Do you have some pictures of products you've made with this sheet yarn? I'd like to try.

Fascinating!

Keeping it real w the washing machine :-)

What about the thick sections at the beginning and the end?
Video really starts at 3.18 mins
1/4” is very small. Do you mean 3/4”?
Yes it is a word :-)
If you had a rotating cutting mat , ruler & rotary cutter it would be much faster and accurate.
Ty for your presentation
Mary Jane Steinbrecher Are you buying?
@@cruisepaige Exactly! Good comment.
Thank you thing.
U need to use paper sissers
My anxiety hit the roof when you used the scissors on paper
You destroyed your scissors by cutting paper. Never use your fabric scissors to cut paper.
As I cringe seeing you cut paper with fabric scissors. Big no no. Good video otherwise
The advice is good, it's just that the voice is annoying... ugh. Sorry, I need to watch using CC.
Sorry, this looks like a very low quality result with those 180 degrees turns all over. I've seen superior methods.
Too much talking. Try to practice not repeating. Otherwise technique is good
For heaven's sake stop waving your hands about. It adds absolutely nothing to the instructions and is an irritating distraction.
What is this you taking too much. I'm not make subscribe.
