A great review! I have No191 and love it. The manual wind and screw down crown and the dial and lume all give it real personality. Radcliffe were great with customer service and it comes with a 12month warranty...just contact them if you need to. It's a £300 watch with a £1,000 of personality. Well done Russell MWC and Radcliffe. 🙂🙂🙂
The Mad Watch Collector is a great guy but I decided not to be in need for his field watch. I have so many already. :D I’m being awaiting my Helm Vanuatu Titanium at the moment. It was almost two years on the list. I ordered four days ago. Congratulations on your new stunner. Have fun with it! 🕐⚙️🍸
@@silkytp789 well, it would make Chandler sort of field/diver's watch and I would really LOVE it done that way - that could be a lovely upgrade by Citizen...
I remember when this came out thinking it was odd. 1st taking off the rotor from a very slim movement to what ends? As you mentioned, the screw down crown could be an issue. To my eyes the 123 alignment would be the thing that stopped me wearing it. It's a bit like when I was looking at a Nomos and the very long lugs seem to get longer every time I see one to the extent that the cracking dial doesn't get seen, just the lugs.
Mmmm.....that puts me off some, the lug length. I think this is a good watch for the price. I like the dial and thought in it. . Most similar alternatives are higher priced
I like Russel's channel and this watch looked great. I have hand winding Vostoks with screw down crowns that are still going strong, so wear to the crown didn't put me off buying. The deal breaker for me is the slipping mainspring, when I wind a hand wind watch, I want to feel the spring tighten and feel when it's fully wound, not count the turns. I have a 9039 powered watch and I believe about 50 turns will fully wind the spring.
I thought it was an automatic movement, and they just removed the rotor, to make it slimmer.. so you can't really break it or over-wind it by trying to screw the crown down,, when it is fully wound.
Well that's high. Here they ranged from £200 to £295. Still a good watch for the price. You've paid roughly what the quartz Hamilton Khaki Fields are new
@@perfectwrist23 when you say manual winding? Does it mean you'd need to still hand wind it after the power reserve runs out? I'll probably sit on it a few hours before deciding to pay. It's the shipping and tax through eBay that drove up the costs the seller was selling for the same he paid for it.

Interesting. Hope the 2 year wait is worth it. I'm trying to hugely consolidate..
For me, if Citizen Chandler eco-drive had a screw-down crown it would be ABSOLUTELY PERFECT field watch.
For me, the screwdown crown is irrelevant. I own several citizen watches and absolutely love them.

@@sergiymarchenko1002 I know what you mean, but to be honest 100 m water resistance is plenty. If I'm going to go swimming with a watch.
It's because it needs daily winding. An eco drive never needs winding so a screw down crown is fine
Citizen get most things right
Timex has one for $39 USD
Expedition perhaps? It's not all about the price....I do have a Timex coming

Interesting points. I found this a little grainy to wind at first but seems to have settled
Hamilton “ we make the most boring watches ever ! “ Radcliffe “hold my beer” 😅
Haha.....

Yes, it's the daily winding and the need to screw the crown daily that could be a problem
How much were the three listed on ebay? I just secured one for about £395 on ebay including tax to my country

You unscrew crown and wind once a day....20 times ish
A hand wound watch with a screw down crown isn't mad, it's just stupid IMO.
Yes...its a shame
Does it HACK?
Ha. Yes it's basically a miyota with the rotor gone
