I think it's only natural that after a while your watch collection will be kind of complete. These days I rarely see a watch I actually want because most of the time it's just a slightly different version of a watch I already have. On top of that, Canada started charging import duties on anything over $20, 17% plus a $9.95 fee, so affordable watches aren't as affordable as they used to be.
Wow that's steep. We charge 20% above £130 but I believe USA is quite generous with approx $800 before duty. I'm finding the same with the collection, many options are merely variations on a theme
when I bought mine back in 2010 it was a... "monster". Nowadays is almost a dress watch LOL. The paint on the bezel is all gone now and I love that they choose to high polish the case and bracelet on areas where there is no way it can get scrached.
I have both 1st edition monsters... The black and the orange dial and I totally agree... Thay are perfect and even later virtions haven't improved it's looks.
Yes. I think you are right. We have the perfect one already in our collection. Congrats on this one! I love it’s look. By the way, the wait for the Helm Vanuatu Ti was a very good idea. Wearing it for a week now and I am still in love. 🕐⚙️🍸
Haha....hey I love getting updates on others collections. I think my weakness has been Seiko, but its gradually becoming more sensible and balanced as the year closes
I think as watch enthusiasts, we will always see something a bit different from what we already own, that looks desirable, and we believe it will ‘add’ something to the collection. That may or may not be the case, but the seed has been planted & it takes plenty of will power to resist the purchase.Lol. The monster, certainly is one, lots of wrist presence.
I have a 2nd generation Dracula monster and it is a favorite of mine. I'm on the hunt for an orange first or second generation as I love the monster after getting the Dracula.

That’s bang on…….ive started to realise a bit too late that I already own a lot of watch types, all others are variations on the same themes
Couldn’t agree more-my Gen 1 Monster is my favorite and more worn watch, as well
Thanks!

Very well thought out from the off! Thanks

100%
Thanks for that!
I have both as well. Each on bracelets. I think I need a rubber strap for one.
I have a Seiko catalogue that originally had the black on rubber and the orange on bracelet
The black dial of the first edition is perfect.. So ledgeble and distinctly unique gives me a warm contented feeling every time I look at it 😊
@@adammccormack7494 haha lovely
Thanks for the video. I have them both as well. These are mainstays in my collection.
Yes. Timeless and right from the off
the orange dial has tempted me for a long time. Too bad Im set on adding a Grand daddy dad seiko to my collecciiioooone

Absolutely. Thanks! I'm trying to resist more and more
@ Good luck, but can’t see it working! Lol

I love the ' fang' indices on gen 2. I think they really are hard to beat. Maybe not at the current £500/$600 RRP, but certainly in the past
1st edition orange dial totally pops well worth tracking one down
Had a Gen 2 that I bought back in the day for $150 new. It was stolen. I love it but not going to pay the inflated price for a replacement.
mmm....I'd say still good value preowned, compared to new these days - half price maybe?
