I'm going for dance teacher education, but same, I don't really get to decorate a classroom. these are very satisfying to watch.
i start my freshman year of college in a few weeks and i’m going for being a special education teacher and this makes me so excited to be a teacher and decorate my classroom in like 4 years!!

Pro tip: use a hot glue gun on cinderblock walls! Doesn’t peel the paint and holds anything!
If the regular hot glue doesn’t work, I know that they sell Gorilla brand hot glue sticks on amazon that could do better! I’ve seen DIY channels use them before to literally hold furniture together lol
Have you ever heard of sticky tack? I am not sure if that is how you spell it but my teachers used it for everything when I was in school!!
@@hannahsims-scentsydirector7069 Oh yes, I have! Unfortunately, if it’s left up for too long, it can get too hot and either stay in the wall, or leave paint on the wall! I love hot glue for cinderblock and teacher tape for everything else!

We used double sides "teacher tape" to stick things on cement walls!

Hot glue will totally ruin your walls when it’s time to take it down 😅 I learned this the hard way. I use the blue tacky now and it works so well 😊

I love that tapestry! It’s so beautiful!! One thing i’ve learned is that even though cursive can look really nice, the kids can’t read it at all haha they’re always like what does that say? i noticed a few things you hung like the voice levels had cursive and just wanted to share!

I love how your room to s coming together. For the hooks on your word wall, I believe they have on Amazon hooks like that but with a tack at the end. You could also make your own by finding the small thumb tacks that have a flat front and hot glue those onto the hooks. Just a thought. You are creating a nice learning space for your students. They are lucky to have you for a teacher.😀

Hot glue guns for the brick! It works like a charm and peels off easily when you are ready for a change.
Using masking tape on the front of letters you want to put on your bulletin board can help so much with placement so you don't have to remove staples if its off centered. You can just peel it off and adjust as needed! This trick has helped me with all of my boards and it keeps the stuff you've laminated in tack!

You could put an embellishment on the corner that doesn’t have enough border of the second bulletin you did! Like a paper flower or something cute.

For the hooks, you can hot glue racks to the back of them then pin them to the board.

To tone down the pink you could alternate the boxes by going pink white pink white
My ocd was bothering me with how messy the wall paper walls looks not evenly flat 🥴😭 lol
Hot glue works great on the cement blocks. Try putting the pink shelf between to the bulletin boards in the back and use it as a resource area, supplies, math manipulatives, etc. Also, did you paint the wall yellow or was it already painted? Last, I absolutely love the big sign in your library😍

Another suggestion! Get the wax matte spray paint from Walmart or Michael’s and spray a light coat over any of your laminated bulletin titles, this makes them not have that glare so students can see them much easier! Good luck!! Your classroom is looking adorable!

Magic treehouse books were my favorite growing up. My school had the AR program and I read 6th grade level books as a 3rd grader. I would always be in the library and remember my reading log would be marked up with how much I’ve read😂.

You can buy double sided tape for concrete walls at walmart in the department with paint and tape. It has a red backing on it and will stick on the wall at least 5 years. It was a game changer for me.
For the book bins in the cubbies, maybe try blue, blue, white as a pattern... might help make it look more intentional

I would use those circle velcro adhesives for your hooks. And as far as the pink shelving, I would use turquoise bins to kind of break up the pink. It's looking so great!:)

for sticking things to cement you could use that sticky gum like stuff. i’m not sure of the technical name but it’s worked really well for me

Classroom is looking great, for your affirmation station, you could use a dry-erase pen to write on a class affirmation of the day/week direct onto the mirror and then wipe off when you want to change it.

in England for 'grade 2' or year 3 (ish) the books have reading levels so kids can level up as their reading skill progresses - organised by the colour on the spine. I guess American schools don't stock those specific books tho :/
I would definitely make the bookshelf more of a neutral color. That way if you decide half way through the year to move it? Itll match everything!! And it wont be so busy on the eyes!

I think you should paint the pink book case white and then but book in it with cute decor on the top.
You are doing a great job setting up your room. I have used velcro sticky squares to hang up alphabet line on brick walls. Worked great! Good luck!

For the cement wall.use the blue poster tack from the dollat tree. Your letters will stay and it won't damage the walls.

It’s a tiny gap, colour photocopy a tiny bit of the eucalyptus and cut it out (I’m Australian... Hence the u in “colour” and love of eucalyptus borders!!)
Command Velcro picture hanging strips work GREAT for tapestries and other wall decor!

I have an idea for you that my teachers did for me when I was younger
When I was younger around Christmas time my teacher had two different stuffed animals one for the boys and one for the girls they were gingerbread man and girl The teacher picked a new student every day to watch over the stuffed animal and take care of it every day there was a new person they came around Christmas time every year and the student would leave the gingerbread man or girl at school and in the morning you can move on make them do fun stuff make things happen like that and it’s a good incentive and saying that if the children are doing bad then you can take the gingerbread man away or they could read to it and things like that

Use blue painter's tape first. Then, tape your letters to the painter's tape.
Hi Madison. I just discovered your channel. Your classroom is darling. I’m also originally from St. Louis but now live in Texas. I’ve been teaching for 12 years. The last eight years I’ve also been teaching 2nd grade. I actually team teach and only teach math and science. Before this team teaching change I was going to put my word wall cards on clips. How is that working for you? One thing I was going to do was allow the students to highlight any words that they used from the word wall. Kiddos will do anything to use a highlighter. You are doing a great job.
Use glue dots in the future they work great and you can re- stick laminated papers

Hi! Love the classroom! Not sure if you did this intentionally but the cursive o in “look at our wOrk” is upside down! 😂😂the tail end of the o is meant to connect to the r and the tail end of the w hits the side of the o! (Does that make sense? 😂) anyways love the classroom so far!!

With the space you don’t know what to do with keep the pink shelf and put white bins in it then put the carpet under the table like you had it and put pillows under the table so they can sit on there and do their work

Masking tape works great on that type of wall. Roll it up and stick it up in the back of what you want up.
For the pink bookshelf: keep the insides pink, and paint the outside white.

is it a good idea to arrange books as fiction and non-fiction by comprehension levels: literal, inferential, and critical? And, if having some students still working at lower skills, having some books focusing on decoding skills, vocabulary, main ideas, theme recognition, mood understanding, text structure, etc?
