I love your classroom! ❤ Something you might want to consider for classroom jobs (if you go back to teaching a class vs doing intervention work) is switching jobs every month or every term. It gives students a longer time to learn the job and get proficient at it AND it is easier to remember who does what. I switch every term so my students only get 3 jobs per year. That means that they won’t get to do every job but that’s ok.
OMG! I loved this classroom tour!! Thank you for sharing your systems and being honest about what worked and didn't work!! Good luck in your new assignment!
I LOVE your classroom!!! The colors, how clean and organized it is ... loved that it doesn't look busy or distracting for the kids.... #GOALS!!! I'm going to be transitioning my "rainbow themed" classroom to more calming/boho vibes... but now I want to literally copy everything you have haha
Thank you for the tour! Your room is huge! And so cozy feeling. I have taught 2nd for one year and your video have me so many new ideas for things to do with my students!
I'm amazed the backpacks can hang on those hooks - would love to know if you have a link for them or where you bought them! I also love the clever tag organization, the way you have your teacher table set up as an extension to your little area, and I love the syllaboards! You also inspired me to put shaving cream on my small group cart so I am reminded that I can pull it out. So smart!

Love the Rae Dunn touches, never knew they made a first aid kit. I’m a Montessori teacher but this still was very nice to watch and see the ways that you organized things.
I’m cracking up because I have so many of the exact same items as you. Including things like the colorful password holders and flexible seating. It’s always so validating to have the same things as other teachers! 😆
Thanks for making this video. It was interesting to see how you organized your classroom and also to hear your reflections about how the various parts worked in practice over the course of the year. Looking forward to hearing more about your new role next year. Also looking forward to future vlogs.

Great classroom tour! Those Ikea stools are so affordable, but mine never hold up. I've started each year with 6-7 and always end the year with 2-3. I'm in the market for other options ha. But it's good to know that the Amazon ones aren't worth it. I also teach fourth graders, so maybe your second grader bottoms are less stress on the stools hahaha..
Hi, great looking classroom! Would you mind sharing what noise level tap lights you got as well as the numbers that have the labels, voices off, whisper, etc. Thank you!
Thank you! The puck lights came from Walmart and I ended up making the numbers with vinyl on my Cricut, but I know you can get the printable versions on TpT.

Thank you for sharing your classroom décor and the reasoning behind why you have set your classroom the way you have! I like the number line and alphabet letters you show, I tried the links and they do not take me to them on TPT. Can you provide the direct link please?
Loooooove this room. This video + Mrs. Call's Camper's are my main inspirations for next year! My room was bare this year since I started 2 weeks into the school year and had absolutely no time to do anything to it. I didn't see links for your book bins in the description. Are those still available on Amazon?
Thank you! Yes, they should be under "student materials" in the description, but just in case: www.amazon.com/dp/B08S96XTJH?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_HQQ4H1KRB2K4HVRPCFC3
Cool down spot was next to the teacher's desk when I was in school. The teacher made naughty students push their desk up next to her desk and sit there rest of the day. Some kids had to sit there for more than a day.
I really love the idea of a student caddy for tables! Especially them being color coordinated. Where did you find the stackable crayon boxes inside of them? I have been searching everywhere and I can’t find them / the colors. Thank you!!💗
Hello, I'm loving your ideas. I've viewed you classroom tour three times so far. Please tell me where you got the round lights for the voice levels and the voice letter numbers? Thanks
Hey there! Thank you for the great resource links. Beautiful classroom! Could you please share where you purchased your faux wood bulletin board paper? I see several different selections from Amazon, but I'm having a hard time finding your specific color. Thank you, again. Excited to put to use so many of your great ideas.
Thank you! All of the bulletin boards are Better Than Paper. Let me start off by saying I absolutely LOVE your classroom! ☺️ Quick question, so I also purchased those keychain things for my students’ QR codes, however I’m having difficulty hanging them on my wall since it came with a small screw. Since I can’t drill a hole in the wall, how did you hand them? ☺️
Thank you! This year I hung them using the velcro command strips. It worked okay, but sometimes they would fall down if the kids were a little too rough. In the past, I had them zip tied to the inside of my Chromebook cart. If I had it to do over, I think I might try some stronger command strips.
That's exciting! I would just recommend keeping in touch with his teacher and helping support from home as much as you can! Sometimes, the transition back into a whole group of kiddos can be a bit different than the more individualized setting at home, but I hope he has a great experience in second grade!
I might be teaching 2nd grade this year-I haven’t gotten my assignment just yet. Where did you find the behavior reflection pages? I could sure use them for the PBIS systems. Thank you! Good luck on your new position. :)
Hey! Unfortunately, I'm not sure where those headphones were purchased from because the school ordered them for all of us. I'm sorry! The shoe holders they are in should be linked in the description though!
Hello! This is the first video I've seen of yours, but I can already tell you, it won't be the last! Thank you for sharing and explaining some of your routines and tips. I just finished my first ride on the teaching roller coaster and I'm hoping next year will be a little bit better! One question I have is about the secret stories? I haven't heard about those, how does that work?
Awe, thank you! The first year is hard! There is such a steep learning curve. I know next year will feel easier for you! The Secret Stories are a resource for introducing/helping kids remember some of those tricky phonics patterns. They come with the posters and a book of all the "secrets", a.k.a. the little stories to help them remember. How did you set up the partial day flexible seating? I have thought about doing a little flexible seating this year but I don't know if my students are going to be responsible enough to get their work finished away from a desk. I have a double graded room so I have had all my students as first graders and then next year they will be my second graders. I have not had much success with flexible seating in the past.
I think the big key is doing instruction in a shared space, like at the rug, and then just having independent work time be flexible seating. I always like to have one spot available at a table for each student. That way if we do something like art, they can all have a space. Also, if you need to assign table spots for more structured activities you can. For the last part of this year, kids had an assigned spot to start the day and then could "earn" getting to choose later in the day by being on task. Most years, I have found that they are more productive when they get to choose their spot because they don't want to have you move them though.
On most of the boards it is just above them on the little bulletin board. There is one spot where it is behind them because I got new boards and when the maintenance guys came to install them, they were too short to fill the space. They had me throw a piece of that paper up before they put them up!
I definitely do! I had desks my very first year in first grade but after making the switch to tables, I wouldn't ever go back. They are just so much easier to keep clean and organized!
I just packed up my third-grade classroom because I accepted an interventionist position at a different school. If you're on Instagram, you can find me at inspired by intervention. I'd love to follow your journey, so if you're on Insta, let me know how I can find you!
Best classroom tour I’ve watched… everything was intentional and had purpose and wasn’t just focused on decoration… love love love❤
I love the open space and flexible seating. Also, it's minimalist but welcoming at the same time.
I love your classroom! ❤
