I’ve been trained to be a teacher for almost 6 years (undergrad + master), but student teaching and the courses only taught me teaching strategies. Ur videos are authentic interesting learning materials for me! Thank you for uploading 🎉
I just finished my first year of teaching, and I’m about to begin my second. I had a large binder with many tabs that I organized all important things in for my evaluations and proof! My admin always grabbed the binder to see evidence. The tabs I had correlated directly to the 10 TKES standards for Georgia, but they can apply to any state! I had a schedule section, differentiation section, data section, lesson plan section, parent communication section, PL/Meeting notes section, state standards section, pacing guides, etc. you could have a binder for these things to show evidence of your teaching!
It is nice to see new teachers so excited to start their career. I remember that first day ever and how I couldn’t believe I had my OWN class. It was such a great feeling. I’m in Canada and because of Corona we aren’t allowed to have any ‘soft touch’ surfaces, so no pillows, added rugs, etc. I guess just easier to clean and disinfect. It is my 21st year and definitely the most surreal one yet. Best of luck to you. Your first year is hard, but try to enjoy as much of it as possible. 🙂
I am a student working on becoming a teacher, I'm still trying to figure out what grade level I would like to teach, but when I started my classes back in April I was already thinking full steam ahead about how I was going to have my classroom setup and how I was going to run my classroom. All I know is that when I get started with teaching whatever grade level I end up choosing I hope to make my classroom inviting to the students . That reading nook would be a starting point.
I feel bad for her. She has to start her first year teaching with covid. Good luck for the year! 😀 Woah I didn’t think my comment would get this many likes thanks.
Each student needs a binder for homework, spelling words, a form where they can keep track of books read. Also include vocabulary words, skills that will be taught each week. Include notes to parents. I was a teacher for 21 years in second grade. I love it.
@@annamuller7183 a lot of teachers actually end up having to buy most of the materials from their own money because schools don’t provide them with much here in the US

You could use binders for your students “best work” “best art” like any real good grades/project put them in the binder so they can bring that home for their parents at the end of the year
Love what you’ve done so far! I create student portfolio binders. Students set goals for the year and store their best work in it. It’s a brag book of sorts. At the end of the year they take it home.
I wish I would of had this all my elementary teachers told me was put it on your fridge and next minute it would in the trash and nobody would know we're it would be
You can use the banners to put the kids homework in and if you don’t wanna buy extra Friday folders or if you don’t use that as a template but you can use them for Friday folders if they have pockets inside and you can put something in them if you do it🎉❤❤
my teacher used to keep a binder for every one of us throughout the year and put all the stuff we made in our binders. when we graduated she put all of the stuff in an envelope and gifted it to us. I still have it! everyone loved it.
For this exact reason I like going to my school or old school to help teachers organize and setup their classrooms. If you need community service or volunteer hours you can also ask them to sign off on the hours that you were there helping. I honestly feel like even the smallest things can help teachers. Whether it’s taking out trash or helping empty out boxes. In my experience most teachers will appreciate the help or even the offer. The classroom looks great! I can tell you are going to be an amazing teacher!
Your classroom is cute! I’m student teaching this semester, and can’t wait until I can set up a classroom of my own. If I had that many binders, I would either use them as student data binders (one for each student, like a portfolio) or I would use them to separate out each unit in each subject that I would be teaching. I’d fill it with the curriculum, lesson ideas, worksheets, etc.
Also for the binders, you can use them to hold your assessments. Don't get rid of binders! One never knows when they will be useful. :) Or you could use it for curriculum organization.
When I was student teaching my teacher used binders to organize materials like tpt products or centers she used for each theme she had throughout the year! It’s a great idea to keep all the materials you need for each theme if you have space to store the binders!
I don't know how many kids will be in your class but you can give every one of them a binder and whenever you have some kind of event (Christmas, birthday, sports day, ect.) they can draw pictures, have photos and just things that remind them of that day in there. It'll be really fun to look through that later on :) And they can continue to store their memories of every school year in there too!!!
Is it odd to cry with joy when you enter your first classroom as a teacher? I almost want to cry just from watching this, so I'm absolutely going to be a puddle on the floor when I set up my own classroom! 😍😭
Love the yellow in your room! I keep a binder for parent contact. I note the date, time, method of communication (call/email/meeting), reason, and what the end result was.

I love the yellow!! I’m not a teacher yet but most of my mentor teachers have used binders for student data binders or a brag book to show off their best work instead of having a wow work board, me personally i would use them for individual lessons and all unit tests id have for that certain lesson or unit along with worksheets, games and other things or things i’d want to keep for next year or for the lesson/unit that the specific binder was for, you can also use them for emergency plans, you could also keep worksheets and things in one from previous years so you could make copies if you needed something, and i would use one for everything that you as a teacher need to know for the school like tornado drills, procedures etc and things you need to know for students
For the binders you could do something where you put the kids work/ artwork and have a spot for all the papers and if it’s for like some art work you can give it to the parents at the end of the year.
It looks beautiful! I hope you’re getting reimbursed so some of that! I wish more non-teachers watched classroom setups. I don’t think anyone outside of education realize how much teachers spend to make rooms cute and homey.
