Looks great! As a European I can never get over how enormous the classrooms are, you guys don't know how lucky you are! You would laugh at the size of mine, I can barely fit all the desks for my kids in my room!
I teach 5th grade, too. For birthdays, I got these pencils from Really Good Stuff that smell like birthday cake. Plus, I give them a silicon bracelet. They seemed to like that. When I taught 3rd grade a few years back, I made birthday bags that had a pencil, an eraser, bubbles, confetti, candy, stickers. It was supposed to be a "mini birthday party" to have at home. But I was self contained then. I had less than 25 kids. Now, I'm departmentalized. I have almost 50 kids. I had to downsize.
Hey Kathy! I was just curious about the iReady curriculum that your school does. Our district just recently adopted the iReady assessment program. When I realized that there was an actual curriculum, I started feeling like eventually we will go to the iReady curriculum, too. I really like the assessment program. But...will I like the curriculum? How do you like it? Is there a lot of supplementing that you have to do to address all of the standards? Just curious!😃
My school has a designated lactation room because someone is ALWAYS having a baby, and needs to pump. It has a number button lock on it. In my grade, a teacher comes back in October. And another will go out in November. There are several others. 🙂
