To be fair, it's designed that way on purpose, to look like the vintage King Seiko.

There is a difference or they want there to be a perceived difference. You have Seiko and a bit above most Seikos you have King Seiko and above them you have Grand Seiko. All priced to different market segments.

I think there is too much text on the face. Remove the "King Seiko". I mean why repeat the logo? Leave "King Seiko" on the movement or caseback. I would also want the "Automatic" removed as well. We should be able to tell from the seconds hand. It's a beautiful watch ruined by the text. But it's a great size.

I own the one with the silver dial. It looks beautiful in person. Very high quality. Almost as nice as a GS. So if Seiko can find a way to price these around $2000, it will be a good value.

The Seikos with the SR no date movements are an embarrassment to the King Seiko name and for us who bought the SJE version.
