They was in the audience for this,I remember watching this when it was first aired and they swung the camara around and they was at the front in hysterics
Someone obviously did their homework when writing this sketch :) The Chas and Dave song 'Big Fat Rat' from the album 'Rockney' (1977) contains the lyric: "She could draw the crowd like she crowds her draws".
I remember recording this on audio cassette when it was broadcast and listened to it so many times, that I can still remember every word as I watched this video version of it, nearly 40 years later. 'Now, this new girl's rather wide' 'Sort of on the stout side' 'But, when she smiles it's beyond belief' 'No teeth!' 'She wouldn't half make some dough' 'In a circus side show' 'She'd have them all queuing up at the doors' 'She'd draw the crowds like she crowds her drawers.'
Meh. Ronnie Corbett was generally carried by Barker, who himself was a real class act. Although I'll grant he was good in some sketches, i.e. 'Fork Handles'.
First time I am seeing this impersonation sketch of Chas and Dave by The Two Ronnies and it is funny as hell. Barker and Corbett had such wonderful chemistry with each other. Am sure Chas and Dave also found this funny as well when they gave them the green light.
@@leebush4053 The BBC pays the record companies for the right to use copyrighted music, so that probably wasn't an issue; but I imagine the Ronnies probably asked Messrs. Hodges and Peacock just to be polite. And Chas 'n' Dave were tickled by it. The Ronnies' chemistry has a fair bit in common with Chas 'n' Dave's chemistry. Each half of the duo really knew what made the other tick. Partly because each was on the other's wavelength from the start, but because they'd worked together for so long.

Fair play if you found these two funny but then to bemoan that humour has now died since their demise makes you sound like a proper whinger. Remember these (Two Ronnies) were prime time with no competition, two TV channels, one showing these two clowns the other Open University. They weren't everyone's cup of tea.
If you didn’t like them you could always turn the television off, as I have done this evening, the fact that will now have more channels is just illusion, as the programming quality is so poor.
Yeah, I can see loadsa people being offended by this... people who wear short trousers, toothless people, Tesco because they didn't get a mention, circus side show freaks...I agree, soooooo much hate speech... *Shocking*
Can imagine Chas n Dave laughing their head off watching this.

♥ RIP all great UK 🇬🇧 70 80s the BEST. COMEDY....
Bloody hell. The 2 savilles at the start. Double the horror
On the iTunes boxset of the Two Ronnies they’ve cut all the Jimmy Saville sections out.
These two bounce off each other so well
Never saw this sketch before. But boy, this is so funny 😄.
They were brilliant... No question... Good clean.. Ish British comedy at its best

Superb. I’m sure Chas and Dave would have loved it. Shame that style of comedy has almost disappeared
They did I’ve just read Chas hodges book it’s brilliant
The 2 Ronnie's were SO good

Credit to the dancers, how the hell did they not fall about laughing at these two? Must have taken so much concentration and a lot of takes!
Fantastic the two ronnies comedy gold
If there are any more Crop of the Flops performances, I'd love to see them.
For me, this is a notch above their usual musical numbers.
Old skool comedy is brilliant
Crop of the Flops is funny enough by itself!
This is genius. Why don't we have comedy like this today?
No talent
@Fur Q "Cultural marxism" 😅😅😅
So funny, made me laugh so much. Love the Two Ronnie's. Amazing comedy duo, they'll never be beaten! Classic brilliance 💜💜💜
Absolutely legends
This bass is taller than Corbett brilliant stuff, rip to the 2 Ron's.
Classic Two Ronnies.
Now they have gone does anybody realise how lucky we were to have shared their genius comedy
Absolute quality
Very good spoof.
comedy legends i bet chas and dave r.i.p. loved this
Brilliant just brilliant classic British comedy
I know the words to this better than the original song. Even when I listen to the Chas and Dave one I just hear the two Ronnie’s version.
Omg I'm wetting myself! 🤣 ...They don't make em like this anymore.
Laugh a minute the teeth bit get me tears in my eyes 😄😄

I'm gonna use that line.. You got more rabbit than sainsburys
More intense than anything Paul Verlaine could come up with.
I watched this trash on PBS while getting trashed in the '80s
Good memories
The thing is in the original top of the tops version the crowd look bored 🤣
Funniest part is the dancing
😂
I thought the same !
I bet that they are singing this with the real Chas and Dave in heaven
Somebody make me a time machine
Hilarious.
The two Jimmy's
Two of the uks greatest comics. Why never knighted??
Did they use the actual Totp studio to record this sketch?
Yes, as it was down the hall from where the Two Ronnies recorded their show at the BBC Television Centre
lol, this was basically a cover. just an excuse to do the rabbit call and response
I'm going to stick my neck out and suggest that Ronnie C. wasn't _actually_ playing bass in this sketch...
unfortunately Ron isn't playing bass.
I'd wind it back in, mate. 😁

Professional dancers in the background... unlike the unenthusiastic untrained teens in the real TOTP programmes from back then!
Erm... Pan's People. And the dancer's here hardly need to be professionals... so actually, wtf point are you even trying to make? 🙄

Hoo boy. The intro and outro bits have not aged well. 😬
Good for women!
A message to whoever uploaded this video cut out the Jimmy savile impression it ruins it

Better than Morcambe and Wise!! Brilliant these two!!
Why the comparison? They're both funny.
Or is it the Jimmy Savile that you like
I bet the dancers were chuffed having to start again if either of them made a slip up, they look half dead now
😅
Back when comics were funny, and the PC police wernt invented
Chas & Dave both played on this record here:

As creepy as Saville was..err well he was never tried let alone convicted.
