To be honest I like piano plastic compared to other hard plastics. I am careful with my car and have no children. So far not a single scratch or sign of usage on my EV6. Depends on your usage. Although the option for something more durable would always be nice.
Ugly, again. I'd happily buy a new car but there really is nothing I like nowadays, and the prices are just crazy. When cars start to look attractive again and the price of EV's goes down I'll consider spending my hard-earned money.

11 kW in most European countries, Toyota claimed 6,5h to fully charge the battery. however 11 kW is too low, 22 kW is needed as an option with all the occupied fast chargers. we even had a fight in Sweden over the single/lonely fast charger in a city 😂
Ok, when u print out miles and feet and inch . you should print out the metric version beside. Other chanels do so - it is more common in the big world to use the metric system. I liked the test - and the car too =)
All my cars, since 2006, have been Toyotas. I've owned both diesels and petrol cars, and now drive a RAV4 Hybrid. This is, clearly, a very important car for Toyota as it will be their first mass produced BEV. Obviously I like Toyotas but...their very reluctant adoption of BEVs does concern me. I want Toyota to remain a world class car manufacturer, but I wonder if they have the leadership in the company to move to BEVs as fast as they need to. I guess we'll know in pretty short order. This is just a list of compromises vs. the competition. "Not as fast" "Not as much headroom" "not as much choice with regen braking" (CHOICE IS GOOD!) "no frunk" "not as much boot space" "doesn't charge as fast" "interior isn't as good as,..." And yet,.... "It comes close to our car of the year,..." There are half a dozen EVs I'd take over this thing. And since when was piano black plastic a nice material in a car?!
From the reviews of the American models fromm 3 minths ago or so, it would seem it's pre production. No way would that go past Toyota, it would be unheard of. The centre console, hopefully not.. I'm more weirded out by the lack of a glovebox..

It's marketing. Most EVs come with an 8 year powertrain warranty and unless there's a manufacturing fault any modern EV battery will sail past 10 years without serious problems with degradation.
Toyota has had to recall every BZ4X back (which luckily at this point is only less than 3000 cars) because there’s a distinct possibility of the wheels coming off, which isn’t a great look when you’re travelling 70 mph on the motorway 😂
@@antonthompson7838 and I drove a Passat Variant TDI in 2014, and after 2 years the trunk didn't wan't to close anymore ( lock got replaced, fixed the issue ). Later the car got recalled for a software upgrade after the Dieselgate scandal . Then after those VW ECU corrections, lot's of those "fixed" cars got broken engines. Luckily not mine, but colleagues of mine also with VW lease cars got a broken engine. ( Golf Variant TDI and Passat Sedan TDI ). VW didn't have enough spare parts at the time in EU to repair all those failed engines so my company was enforced to rent other cars to fit the gaps... I think every brand has their issues at some point in time. It's about how they deal with it.
I would say, "why do manufacturers feel the need to style electric cars differently?"… but Toyota have been making ugly SUVs for a while. You didn't comment on how low the rear seat is. It is a problem with skateboards but there are solutions. Look at the Lucid.
For the price, the ev6 and Ioniq 5 come out as better value for money, but the design will likely help this be a big seller, along with the Toyota badge

Many times this. "Big seller" is debatable - there's every indication that Toyota made this to be a compliance car. They'll sell enough to sneak out of the danger zone on emissions targets and I doubt they'll sell a single car more.
Having had an EV6 for six months, the launch of the bZ4x doesn't make me at all regretful. It will probably be a solid ownership proposition, but the EV6 is a better-resolved design, with longer range, faster charging and Toyota-level build quality. It's also great to drive.

We have waited all this time for an overpriced car that can't utilize teslas superchargers as its charger is in the worst possible location. not easy for any public charger, but close to impossible on a supercharger. Another manufacturer still trying to slow ev adoption.

Tesla is king on acceleration and range. Also, some of teslas MSRP helps build superchargers. Other manufacturers leave charging stations to taxpayers or private
If I was buying an electric car I would buy this because it is a Toyota. Yes the Tesla is quicker but the Toyota will be better engineered and a lot less troublesome. But Electric cars are overpriced and charging in the UK is still a pain. For similar money I would buy a Lexus NX. Thanks for the review

I’ve owned some Toyota’s, faultless, reliable and cheap to run. But in 2019 I wanted to go cold turkey on fossil fuels and Toyota had nothing to offer. Now 3 years in to Kia e-Niro ownership, would I consider going back to Toyota? Not really. Their legendary reliability in the ICE/hybrid world means little in the world of BEV powered cars, my e-Niro will last just as long on do as high mileage as anything Toyota can offer. Toyota are some way behind the Hyundai group products in EV experience and the comparison with the EV6 and Ioniq 5 show it to be wanting. Toyota have also lost it on design, the thing looks really awkward compared to the flowing lines of the EV6 and the coherent design statement that is the Ioniq 5. I think Toyota will struggle to achieve the same success in EVs that they have in ICE/hybrid
It may be the case, but Toyota has reliable hybrids. If their EV are anything like those, then it will catch up soon enough. Although the future may still be hydrogen cars which they invested a lot into.

That’s why I call EVs the Ockham’s razor of cars, anything with an ICE just cannot compete on simplicity, ergo reliability and durability. Prius from Gen 2 (2004-2009) are still considered economical, reliable and still cost effective to run today. The batteries in them are smaller than an EV for obvious reasons, but still most are working and are original. I don't know much about this particular model, but have heard that it shares the platform with a other company. What I do know is, Toyota came from "behind" in the US when it was first introduced. It has become a world renowned brand with a strong reputation. I say when and not if, it develops an EV that is considered good, people will buy them. I've had many cars from different brands over the years, and Toyota has been trouble free for me while others have not been. As for hydrogen, let's see how that goes. Materials for EV's, more cars being manufactured, metals becoming more expensive etc... May affect prices even more that an alternative is to be looked at. One reason why I don't have AN EV is: Range isn't that great unless you pay a lot. I get 550 to 600 miles out of 40 litres of fuel on my Prius which is also from 2009. I drive 78 miles a day to and from work. A few minutes every so often at a petrol station is okay for me. Older EV's have low range such as a Leaf. I'd have to charge every day or other day. -It's quite a practical car size wise. I can fit quite a lot in it. I often go on air bnb trips and it can hold a lot, but I also recently refurbished my house and it fit a lot of furniture/contained a lot when I went to the recycling centre to dump things. -Cost, an EV with good range of over 300 miles and a hatchback type vehicle is quite expensive in the UK. It would take me probably over a decade to make back any savings if I was to change from my Prius to a new car. A new Hyundai Ev6 starts at 41k... I'd have to get an EV charging system installed at my house in Essex. I have a drive way which is great. However I also live in London due to work on some occasions and I don't have a possibility to charge my car because my drive way in London also has access for the public in front of it. Of course, once my car dies, I'll look into an EV. I've had newer cars in the past but at 33 mpg, the fuel costs were quite a lot.
@@UnseenSpirit The only valid argument you make for not having an EV is that you can’t afford one just now, that’s fair enough, I spent most of my life buying only used cars. That will change as used Evs come on the used market. FYI I am a retired Brit living in France, I know the London commute only too well. The e-Niro is equal if not more spacious than the Prius and these are I think mid £30’s K new in UK, the Ioniq 5 you mean is over £40k...too big for what I need but a great car. You don’t need a range of 300 miles, you need a range that allows you to drive for as long as you are happy to drive. 300 miles is London to Newcastle, no one in their right mind does that without a break. I appreciate that your Prius is economical but a 40 litre fill up will cost you what...£80?....I know people in the UK with the e-Niro who have home chargers and are getting £0.05/kWh from Octopus between midnight and 6 am. The average person does 18 miles a day in their car, so once a week plug in does the commute, school run and shopping trips for £2. a week...To do 550 miles @ 4 miles/kWh would be £6.50. OK, plugging in on standard rates of what 20p/kWh would make that £26 in an EV but you are still saving bucket loads. I have solar panels here in France and last year generated enough electricity to drive 15,000 km...about 75% of my driving. In 3 years our experience is that we are saving €1,500 a year on fuel and €200 on oil changes and other maintenance over the equivalent Niro hybrid. OK that was €10,000 cheaper to buy but the e-Niro is so much better to drive and for us a long term buy.. Hybrids are fine but they are like Kodak film in a world of digital cameras, no one will want a second hand hybrid with fuel at £2/litre when there are plenty of used EVs around, see if I’m not right on this 5 years from now.

In theory, I would only need 65 miles in that case, since I don't travel more than that in one journey that often. However, charging mid trip would be annoying for me to a point that I don't want a vehicle if I had to wait 20 to 30 minutes charging. I understand the cost saving, but like I said, I'd have to spend a lot upfront. I wouldn't make the money back for a very long time. While my prius has been paid for, is low cost on maintenance and reliable as any other car can be, which is not giving me any issues at all. The only benefit of getting a enw car would be having a newer car. I use my vehicle to commute and travel and I don't need a new car. It is more expensive to travel than an EV, but mid 30k is a lot of money. I don't own the latest phone, because my current phone is absolutely fine. I don't see a reason why I would need a new phone when I'm perfectly happy with it. Some people want the latest phones because the camera is new or it can do such and such. Not for me. However if my Prius ever died forever or wasn't cost effective to to run, I'd consider an EV. However I would need an outdoor charger for one of my properties. That's an issue because I don't want to run a cable over a public walkway.

Hi Ivo - we were testing a AWD Premiere Edition. This is sold out in the UK, so the closest to it is the AWD Vision (£50,250). If you want a panoramic sunroof the price goes up by £540. Hope this helps.

Cold weather charging in this BZ4X is absolutely horrendous. Topping at some under 60kw charging speeds at rougly +10 degree centigrade. I cannot even think of considering this car as a traveller in a northern countly like Finland. There is no battery heating option in the car and a sales guy told me there is no quick fix to be had in the near future. Car has no heating hardware from production and no heating is confirmed for the near future production. To be noted for example EV6 had problems in early production cars while not having heating in the battery with navi. So there is already a good proof of a "coldgate" At minus degrees like -10 or -20 cars had biiiiiig issues going over 50 kwh. Nowadays every single EV6 has navigation based battery heating and is capable of charding high 200kw's at winter. So EV6 and Ioniq5 had their problems fixed because it was just a software tweak. Here on the toyota side we are talking a totally different scale of a coldgate since it is a hardware problem. It's a massive dissapointment this Toyota.
I sat in this car at the L.A. auto show. The battery raises the rear floorboard and although there may be legroom there is no foot room and you sit at an awkward angle. Unless your rear passengers are small kids will not be comfortable! That's a deal breaker for me just in and of itself.
Easy to achieve when the weels come off from your car. Million kilometres wont be happening or with around 200-250km range in the cold. Sad case in terms of electric tech this BZ4X
Great looking car on the outside. I am not sure about the design of the steering wheel and centre display though. It looks a bit grey and 80s like a concept car from a Motor Show back when shoulder pads and Dynasty where on trend. The power/acceleration figures do look a little underwhelming but I am sure are fine for most people in the market for this type of car. It seems quite a brave decision to go 'sensible' on power compared to some rivals which seem needlessly quick. I like it a lot and waaaaaaay better looking than most other equivalents I think. I looked at getting my first EV in 2018... Coming from a Toyota family, and with no Toyota EV at the time, I ended up with a Nissan LEAF... and later upgraded to Kia Niro EV... Toyota has always been anti-EV (at least its top-level mgmt)... so they are definitely late to the EV game and other EV makers are well ahead of them...
@@UnseenSpirit Fuel cells are worse, require a lot of maintenance and can’t work without a decent sized battery. The efficiency of FCEV is half that of an BEV and requires a very expensive (both install and running costs) infrastructure. At least with a FCEV you know when it’s no longer on the road as the tanks have an expired date printed on the inside of the filler flap, that reads „do not refill after mm.dd.yyyy“ which is when the tanks are no longer deemed safe to use.
They're not that late. They are about 1 year behind Hyundai and Kia (unless you count the Nexo or Niro and the Niro isn't really a major car for Kia). Otherwise, they're about 1 to 1.5 years behind. That's nothing in the overall scheme of time.

So, this is a ripoff of the Bolt EUV.- and poorly done, at that. The infotainment system is far better on the Bolt. No lag, for one. Colorful. Far better UI. And the Toyota is more expensive.
this is ~4 years late to the market. the Subaru version is slightly raised so I can see a more niche market for that car. But I feel this is just for the Prius crowd I guess, that wants to move from hybrid to pure EV?

So that depends on the kwh efficiency you are driving at. Let's say that, conservatively, you drive at 3 miles per kwh. Your 30 miles a day would take 10kwh out of the battery. Next you'd need to take your home electric unit price (say 25p for example) and multiply that by the 10kwh used. That equates to £2.50/day or £17.50/week (assuming you are doing those 30 miles, 7 days a week). Hope that helps!

I checked Gault Toyota in upstate NY on 9/29/22. They are selling these cars at $10k over list. They have two at ~$52k each. That's $62K plus tax or close to $70k and unless you are willing to buy this car for cash figure another $4K to $6K interest on a load. That brings the total to over $75K. Its not worth it.
Sat in this car in Bath and was pleasantly surprised with the space in the rear. Nearly as good as my 2013 Nissan Note which has huge rear space. As Toyota has a solid 20’year back story with battery technology and a very long l million k battery guarantee I would definitely consider for my next EV car
Nice and quick review. Very useful. I m looking for an EV. l like the design of BZ4X. Happy with the range & space. How often do you charge in a public charger? It is a bit pricy when compare to rivals but it is a Toyota. I hate breakdown very very much.
Seen one of these in a showroom earlier. Interior quality makes early Daewoos feel upmarket. Really dont understand the massive black plastic bumper / wheel arch trims. It looks and feels naff.
Good informative review. I think I’d still consider the EV6 perhaps but good to see Toyota produce a competitive car and reasonable-ish price (unlike Tesla). No comments on waiting times for ordering new ? If keeping a car like this for 4 years say , would only make sense if doing X miles (whatever X is these days) otherwise a much cheaper ICE Rav 4 would make more sense economically.
We'd estimate around 230 miles for the AWD and about 250 for the FWD (in the summer, that is). But we'll be testing properly in the UK in the next few weeks.
Seems like there are better alternatives out there on paper. The only reason why I'd choose this is because it's a Toyota and I've had good experiences with Toyotas.

11kW on-board charger will be fitted to UK cars built from Autumn 2022. Early cars will have a 6.6kW charger.

I think every brand has their issues at some point in time. It's about how they deal with it.

You didn't comment on how low the rear seat is. It is a problem with skateboards but there are solutions. Look at the Lucid.

Many times this. "Big seller" is debatable - there's every indication that Toyota made this to be a compliance car. They'll sell enough to sneak out of the danger zone on emissions targets and I doubt they'll sell a single car more.

Having had an EV6 for six months, the launch of the bZ4x doesn't make me at all regretful. It will probably be a solid ownership proposition, but the EV6 is a better-resolved design, with longer range, faster charging and Toyota-level build quality. It's also great to drive.
The four wheel drive system is probably far better on Toyota/Subaru. Ev6 tested in winter conditions in norway. A bit disapponting.

Battery's just aren't big enough. We should be getting 90kw minimum at the prices being charged. You'll then get a genuine 300 miles.

We have waited all this time for an overpriced car that can't utilize teslas superchargers as its charger is in the worst possible location. not easy for any public charger, but close to impossible on a supercharger. Another manufacturer still trying to slow ev adoption.

If I was buying an electric car I would buy this because it is a Toyota. Yes the Tesla is quicker but the Toyota will be better engineered and a lot less troublesome. But Electric cars are overpriced and charging in the UK is still a pain. For similar money I would buy a Lexus NX. Thanks for the review

I’ve owned some Toyota’s, faultless, reliable and cheap to run. But in 2019 I wanted to go cold turkey on fossil fuels and Toyota had nothing to offer. Now 3 years in to Kia e-Niro ownership, would I consider going back to Toyota? Not really. Their legendary reliability in the ICE/hybrid world means little in the world of BEV powered cars, my e-Niro will last just as long on do as high mileage as anything Toyota can offer. Toyota are some way behind the Hyundai group products in EV experience and the comparison with the EV6 and Ioniq 5 show it to be wanting. Toyota have also lost it on design, the thing looks really awkward compared to the flowing lines of the EV6 and the coherent design statement that is the Ioniq 5. I think Toyota will struggle to achieve the same success in EVs that they have in ICE/hybrid
It may be the case, but Toyota has reliable hybrids. If their EV are anything like those, then it will catch up soon enough. Although the future may still be hydrogen cars which they invested a lot into.

That’s why I call EVs the Ockham’s razor of cars, anything with an ICE just cannot compete on simplicity, ergo reliability and durability. @@kiae-nirodiariesencore4270 hybrid's may not be the same as EV's, but at the same time, hybrid's do have batteries. Prius from Gen 2 (2004-2009) are still considered economical, reliable and still cost effective to run today. The batteries in them are smaller than an EV for obvious reasons, but still most are working and are original.
I don't know much about this particular model, but have heard that it shares the platform with a other company.
What I do know is, Toyota came from "behind" in the US when it was first introduced. It has become a world renowned brand with a strong reputation. I say when and not if, it develops an EV that is considered good, people will buy them. I've had many cars from different brands over the years, and Toyota has been trouble free for me while others have not been.
As for hydrogen, let's see how that goes. Materials for EV's, more cars being manufactured, metals becoming more expensive etc... May affect prices even more that an alternative is to be looked at.
One reason why I don't have AN EV is:
Range isn't that great unless you pay a lot. I get 550 to 600 miles out of 40 litres of fuel on my Prius which is also from 2009.
I drive 78 miles a day to and from work. A few minutes every so often at a petrol station is okay for me.
Older EV's have low range such as a Leaf. I'd have to charge every day or other day.
-It's quite a practical car size wise. I can fit quite a lot in it. I often go on air bnb trips and it can hold a lot, but I also recently refurbished my house and it fit a lot of furniture/contained a lot when I went to the recycling centre to dump things.
-Cost, an EV with good range of over 300 miles and a hatchback type vehicle is quite expensive in the UK. It would take me probably over a decade to make back any savings if I was to change from my Prius to a new car. A new Hyundai Ev6 starts at 41k...
I'd have to get an EV charging system installed at my house in Essex. I have a drive way which is great.
However I also live in London due to work on some occasions and I don't have a possibility to charge my car because my drive way in London also has access for the public in front of it.
Of course, once my car dies, I'll look into an EV. I've had newer cars in the past but at 33 mpg, the fuel costs were quite a lot.

That will change as used Evs come on the used market. FYI I am a retired Brit living in France, I know the London commute only too well. The e-Niro is equal if not more spacious than the Prius and these are I think mid £30’s K new in UK, the Ioniq 5 you mean is over £40k...too big for what I need but a great car. You don’t need a range of 300 miles, you need a range that allows you to drive for as long as you are happy to drive. 300 miles is London to Newcastle, no one in their right mind does that without a break. I appreciate that your Prius is economical but a 40 litre fill up will cost you what...£80?....I know people in the UK with the e-Niro who have home chargers and are getting £0.05/kWh from Octopus between midnight and 6 am. The average person does 18 miles a day in their car, so once a week plug in does the commute, school run and shopping trips for £2. a week...To do 550 miles @ 4 miles/kWh would be £6.50. OK, plugging in on standard rates of what 20p/kWh would make that £26 in an EV but you are still saving bucket loads. I have solar panels here in France and last year generated enough electricity to drive 15,000 km...about 75% of my driving. In 3 years our experience is that we are saving €1,500 a year on fuel and €200 on oil changes and other maintenance over the equivalent Niro hybrid. OK that was €10,000 cheaper to buy but the e-Niro is so much better to drive and for us a long term buy.. Hybrids are fine but they are like Kodak film in a world of digital cameras, no one will want a second hand hybrid with fuel at £2/litre when there are plenty of used EVs around, see if I’m not right on this 5 years from now.
@@kiae-nirodiariesencore4270 I would not want a range of below 300 miles. I often go to wales on trips etc too. In theory, I would only need 65 miles in that case, since I don't travel more than that in one journey that often. However, charging mid trip would be annoying for me to a point that I don't want a vehicle if I had to wait 20 to 30 minutes charging.
I understand the cost saving, but like I said, I'd have to spend a lot upfront. I wouldn't make the money back for a very long time. While my prius has been paid for, is low cost on maintenance and reliable as any other car can be, which is not giving me any issues at all.
The only benefit of getting a enw car would be having a newer car. I use my vehicle to commute and travel and I don't need a new car. It is more expensive to travel than an EV, but mid 30k is a lot of money.
I don't own the latest phone, because my current phone is absolutely fine. I don't see a reason why I would need a new phone when I'm perfectly happy with it. Some people want the latest phones because the camera is new or it can do such and such. Not for me.
However if my Prius ever died forever or wasn't cost effective to to run, I'd consider an EV. However I would need an outdoor charger for one of my properties. That's an issue because I don't want to run a cable over a public walkway.

Hi Ivo - we were testing a AWD Premiere Edition. This is sold out in the UK, so the closest to it is the AWD Vision (£50,250). If you want a panoramic sunroof the price goes up by £540. Hope this helps.

Cold weather charging in this BZ4X is absolutely horrendous. Topping at some under 60kw charging speeds at rougly +10 degree centigrade. I cannot even think of considering this car as a traveller in a northern countly like Finland. There is no battery heating option in the car and a sales guy told me there is no quick fix to be had in the near future. Car has no heating hardware from production and no heating is confirmed for the near future production.
To be noted for example EV6 had problems in early production cars while not having heating in the battery with navi. So there is already a good proof of a "coldgate" At minus degrees like -10 or -20 cars had biiiiiig issues going over 50 kwh. Nowadays every single EV6 has navigation based battery heating and is capable of charding high 200kw's at winter. So EV6 and Ioniq5 had their problems fixed because it was just a software tweak.
Here on the toyota side we are talking a totally different scale of a coldgate since it is a hardware problem.
It's a massive dissapointment this Toyota.
Seems to be another hatch with no rear wiper - another case of style over substance 🧐

I sat in this car at the L.A. auto show. The battery raises the rear floorboard and although there may be legroom there is no foot room and you sit at an awkward angle. Unless your rear passengers are small kids will not be comfortable! That's a deal breaker for me just in and of itself.

The Million-Kilometre battery guarantee is pretty cool. Few would have believed an EV manufacturer would offer that ten years ago.
Easy to achieve when the weels come off from your car. Million kilometres wont be happening or with around 200-250km range in the cold. Sad case in terms of electric tech this BZ4X
Great looking car on the outside. I am not sure about the design of the steering wheel and centre display though. It looks a bit grey and 80s like a concept car from a Motor Show back when shoulder pads and Dynasty where on trend. The power/acceleration figures do look a little underwhelming but I am sure are fine for most people in the market for this type of car. It seems quite a brave decision to go 'sensible' on power compared to some rivals which seem needlessly quick. I like it a lot and waaaaaaay better looking than most other equivalents I think. Great review too, thank you :o)

I looked at getting my first EV in 2018... Coming from a Toyota family, and with no Toyota EV at the time, I ended up with a Nissan LEAF... and later upgraded to Kia Niro EV... Toyota has always been anti-EV (at least its top-level mgmt)... so they are definitely late to the EV game and other EV makers are well ahead of them...
They invested in hydrogen cars, which still may be the future. Batteries use a lot of natural resources so one day it will be very expensive
@@UnseenSpirit Fuel cells are worse, require a lot of maintenance and can’t work without a decent sized battery. The efficiency of FCEV is half that of an BEV and requires a very expensive (both install and running costs) infrastructure. At least with a FCEV you know when it’s no longer on the road as the tanks have an expired date printed on the inside of the filler flap, that reads „do not refill after mm.dd.yyyy“ which is when the tanks are no longer deemed safe to use.
They're not that late. They are about 1 year behind Hyundai and Kia (unless you count the Nexo or Niro and the Niro isn't really a major car for Kia). Otherwise, they're about 1 to 1.5 years behind. That's nothing in the overall scheme of time.
The EV sceptics in Toyota have gone off with pention. The kids are running the show now, and there are some treats in the bZ family coming up!
You mentioned that the rear floor is completely flat ? Liar you can see that the floor has a ridge in the middle so it's an untrue statement !!
Hate the design of Toyota wheel arches. Looks very much like they ran out of round trim,🤮. Interior trim looks like rattles waiting to happen.

So, this is a ripoff of the Bolt EUV.- and poorly done, at that. The infotainment system is far better on the Bolt. No lag, for one. Colorful. Far better UI. And the Toyota is more expensive.

Let's say that you drive 30 miles a day. How much will that add to your home electric bill if you only charge ar home?
So that depends on the kwh efficiency you are driving at.
Let's say that, conservatively, you drive at 3 miles per kwh.
Your 30 miles a day would take 10kwh out of the battery.
Next you'd need to take your home electric unit price (say 25p for example) and multiply that by the 10kwh used.
That equates to £2.50/day or £17.50/week (assuming you are doing those 30 miles, 7 days a week).

Toyota is refunding now
I checked Gault Toyota in upstate NY on 9/29/22. They are selling these cars at $10k over list. They have two at ~$52k each. That's $62K plus tax or close to $70k and unless you are willing to buy this car for cash figure another $4K to $6K interest on a load. That brings the total to over $75K. Its not worth it.
Uggg. THEY ARE NOT "HEAD RESTS" , they are head restraints. They are a safety feature to help prevent whiplash in a rear end accident.
My £6000 Suzuki CELERIO has features apparently missing on this, like a spare wheel, a glovebox, and rear wash/wipe.
Sat in this car in Bath and was pleasantly surprised with the space in the rear. Nearly as good as my 2013 Nissan Note which has huge rear space. As Toyota has a solid 20’year back story with battery technology and a very long l million k battery guarantee I would definitely consider for my next EV car

Seen one of these in a showroom earlier. Interior quality makes early Daewoos feel upmarket. Really dont understand the massive black plastic bumper / wheel arch trims. It looks and feels naff.
Good informative review. I think I’d still consider the EV6 perhaps but good to see Toyota produce a competitive car and reasonable-ish price (unlike Tesla). No comments on waiting times for ordering new ? If keeping a car like this for 4 years say , would only make sense if doing X miles (whatever X is these days) otherwise a much cheaper ICE Rav 4 would make more sense economically.

What’s th real world range?
We'd estimate around 230 miles for the AWD and about 250 for the FWD (in the summer, that is). But we'll be testing properly in the UK in the next few weeks.
Seems like there are better alternatives out there on paper. The only reason why I'd choose this is because it's a Toyota and I've had good experiences with Toyotas.
