What do you all think of the new Sirui Nightwalker cine lenses? Are you picking up a set?
I love what you’ve got going on here. Great content. Would you be able to compare the Sigma 30mm 1.4 to the Sirui 35mm? This would be a tasty comparison on so many levels.
How do the Sirui Night Walkers stack up against the 7Artisans cine lenses? Looking for a budget 35mm cine lens for Sigma FP
I purchased a set of the Nightwalker lenses for my GH5/GH6 setups. My team and I are still testing them. The ultimate test comes in a couple of weeks, where we will use them on a short film project. You hit the nail on the head, with the consistency of image. When you buy a set of cine lenses, you are paying for the consistency of color throughout the various focus lengths. I couldn't believe how much warmer the 24mm is compared to the 35/55mm lenses.
For the early bird pricing, they are really decent cine lenses. My early rating is a good C+ for this set. If you are a novice filmmaker, these are a set you learn with.
Since you are using a GH5, can you do me a favor and solve a question that’s bothering me, please? Since it is a S35 designed lens, the 24mm for instance, have a FOV comparable to what mm in lenses like MFT Panasonics, Rokinon or Olympus! Thanks in advance @sliceofmymind
For a boat company Sea Ray did a pretty good job making a lense!
The Sirui's look pretty incredible, especially at the price! Guess it helps that you shot some great footage on them too haha

Thank you for your great review ! I just ordered the 24mm and the 55mm and can’t wait to try them on my a7IV. (I learnt 55mm can be used on full frame sensor with a x1.2 crop)
Do you think it’s easy to remove color aberrations from Premiere or Resolve ?
Thanks! I don’t know how EASY it would but that’s also cause I never got the patience to try and remove it. But that’s not to say it can’t be done
Yet another great review video man. You mentioned something about the 24mm and the 55mm that made me wonder. What if someone with a Sony FX30 bought both the 55mm and the 24mm and shot them both (within reason) at T2.8, shouldn't that in theory solve some of the issues these lenses have?
Thanks dude! Even at 2.8 you are still gonna have a way different color cast. But easily fixable in post
the b-roll had me drooling!! so good. I did find the 35 and 55mm to have a slight difference but that 24mm is just way off with mine as well. Any reports of the production copies being better??

I don’t use cine lens often but seeing this comparison it seems like the sigma is on another level… but the sirui NW is a good starter pack to get your feet wet.
Honestly, I feel the same exact way with this outcome. I like the NWs for sure as a good way to get into cine lenses

It is very interesting. But I think with these budget brands they pay attention to what you may notice from first glance, but don’t think about stuff like is it consistent and 100% reproducible.

I Jjust picked up the 35mm lens. To be honest it’s a great lens. People watching whatever content created by Sirui Nightwalker will have no idea about which lens were used. They are a great buy for sure
add some light...I can hardly see you in the dark :) maybe get a cheap graphicon to line up your monitors?
You think the sigma lens can resolve 12k? Just wondering.
I know they resolve 8k, never seen them on a 12k cam

No one 24X26 optical lense can do that. No one.
1.2 is naturally going to be less sharp than 1.5.
They were both set to t1.5

I don’t think that there is a chance they win. I think it’s more, if you’re looking at the nightwalkers, how far away from premium lenses are they. But yea I agree whole heartedly
