It is so sad that many of today’s teenagers are defined by the smaller percentage of those who have given them such a bad name. These boys are an example of the goodness and sensitivity that so many youngsters possess and how great to see the media can focus on the positives rather than the constant negatives for a change.I’m sure there are thousands of teenagers who are unsung heroes.

Talking negatively about teenagers in general is very strange considering they are literal children being shaped by a society that is increasingly neglecting them.

My son took his own life in January 2024 aged 23. For these 2 boys to save someone's life is just the most amazing thing that anyone could ever do. They should be so proud of themselves and a credit to their families. To be able to prevent the pain that suicide causes is indescribable. I wouldn't wish this pain on anyone. i am so thankful that your courage and bravery saved someone's life and another mother and family does not have to suffer. Well done lads. You’re a credit to your families. During a lockdown break my son and his friends were out for a walk in nearby woods, they encountered a man with a rope around his neck and he was about to hang himself from a tree. They were only 15 at the time but they instantly knew what to do. They sat with him and talked and allowed him to talk. While he was distracted one of his friends took the opportunity to move the rope away from him. The man was upset but thanked them for saving his life. They walked him home. This was in Pudsey, Leeds. It must be a Yorkshire thing!

Gosh, that's scary, to come across that-So sweet of the boys to talk to him & to listen- most adults become immune to things around us/don't want to get involved, it's comforting to know there is some humanity out there, at least, & yes, we ❤️ Yorkshire!

@@Zee-mu1zj they did something that came to them naturally. They are 19 now and still a lovely group of lads. If they'd got to the woods a few minutes later they would have found the poor man hanging from a tree. They were his guardian angels that evening. I called non emergency police number to report a concern for welfare. The operator said they acted in such a responsible manner and should be very proud of themselves. All of us parents were very proud of them but they just said...we were in the right place at the right time. 💜

@@Zee-mu1zj my son is an amazing young man. His 16 year old sister has an incurable brain disorder called Rett syndrome. He has witnessed her having multiple seizures and only just last Christmas kept me calm whilst waiting for paramedics to arrive. He even packed a case for me to take to hospital. As I got into the 2nd ambulance (I wasn't allowed to travel with my daughter as she required 2 paramedics in the back with her) He carried my case and gave me a giant hug and said don't worry mum, she'll be alright. He was on his own in the house for 2 hours before my husband got home. It was a terrifying experience. His sister was unresponsive and he held her in his arms when I was talking to 999. He helped me so much. After 7 hour's in A+E we finally got a bed in a ward. When I opened my suitcase he'd put my pyjamas in, makeup bag and some crisps and sweets! When I opened the side compartment I found some miniature bottles of Bailey's! They were a Christmas present from my neighbour. He must have known I would need a little drink! How thoughtful? He helps me everyday with his sister. She can't walk or talk. 😢

Great young lads who are blessed with having grown-up with naturally good common sense, thanks to their sensible and loving, warm backgrounds. Obviously a great influence on how they see real life. It's important that the terrific young people growing up today believe that they are the future. Put LOGIC and good natured hearts at the top of your list and at the very bottom put the so-called hip influencers and fake heroes. Bravo, boys! You're a credit and may you have luck, health and happiness wherever you go. Young people everywhere have great potential....just use common sense and logic. Wow, this is incredible and very inspiring. You both are amazing inside and out and honestly, incredible people. To put yourself at risk takes a lot of courage and I’m proud of you.
I would do the same, no one should result to this and no one should fight alone. I feel like mental health should be talked about more. Mental health is just as important as physical health. We should all check up on people, no one knows what somebody is going through. Also, not everyone has someone to turn too. It is heart breaking and wrenching to hear stories where people put themselves at harm. Well done lads
    ! You done amazing!🙌🏼🙏🏼🌟💫✨❤️💚🧡💙💜💛💗😊

Didn't even think twice, Freddie just felt the need to jump and save along with his mate. A lot of our youth are sensitive towards mental health and the general wellbeing of the planet!

What a smart boy - thinking about not just the man but the train driver and the people on the train too.
