      I completely understand where you're coming from. From my experience over the last 4 years, more and more Californians are almost hesitant and/or embarrassed to say that they are from California because they a) don't buy the lies being sold in California or b) they don't want the push back or the friction that might come from the few people here that might express hate or negativety for their coming here

      I’ve lived in Southern Utah most of my life, and it’s definitely changed a lot over the years as it’s grown. In my opinion, the only thing that’s truly gotten worse is the traffic and how poorly people seem to drive now. I think this is mostly because locals aren’t used to handling the high influx of traffic, but I could be wrong.
      The “Don’t California my Utah” sentiment has gotten out of hand. People blame California for everything, even when it doesn’t make sense. I think it has more to do with people liking to get into a pack mentality and blame the “others” for everything that is going wrong in their lives. I have a bunch of family that lives in California, and I have spent a few summers out in California with my Grandma. The people I have been around out there never seemed to be any better or any worse. People are people no matter where the live with the good and the bad. But that is my personal view on it.

    Well you are in real estate so you support everyone moving to Utah and needing a home. 😉 Talk about Tremonton the city that has the fastest growth in Utah and all the problems it comes with for the people that already live there. There are not enough schools, the prices too high for the locals, infrastructure can’t hold up and much more. There is always good and bad, winners and losers.

    • @scottdsteele
      @scottdsteele  3 месяца назад

      Yes I'm in real estate and the people are coming here whether I share content or not... and yes I love to help those coming here and it's so fun to meet and build relationships with them and see how positive and happy they are to experience what this amazing place offers.
      Tremonton has grown alot yes, but it's a very small community that's just too far from most jobs and too far for most people who who move. Despite the fact that it's grown from 5,700 people to 12,500 people over the last 24 years... it's just too far for most to find a good paying job.

    • @EnthusiastCarHangar
      @EnthusiastCarHangar 3 месяца назад +1

      @@scottdsteele There must be a reason Tremonton attracts that many people and is growing much faster. Lots of people moving there work at Northrop Grumman or have a long daily commute. The better air quality and larger lots for less money are also attractive for many. They need to keep building though it’s getting enough. Enough apartments in many places in Utah.

    I moved to Utah in 2019 after living in California my whole life. It was quite annoying when I asked for any advice on just random things online and when they found out I was from California, would say stuff like, "Go back to California!" The funny thing is people are only ever this bold on the internet because no one has ever actually said this to my face. I left California because as I got older, I really started hating living there; I got out because I wanted to get away from California, and I absolutely love everything here. I'll tell you one sure thing: I'll never move back to California.

The irony is, Utahns who hold this sentiment actually enjoy the change they see in their cities. They just refuse to acknowledge that the influx is the reason for the better social improvements. Instead, they'll point to higher crime, traffic, etc.

    Utah is great for getting experience in IT since the competition for jobs in California is pretty cut throat. I work in Utah county and I find it a little difficult to connect with some of my BYU coworkers, but other than that living in Utah is better than Nevada I guess. I do plan on moving back to California or New York, I find it easier to socialize with people in those states compared to Utah in regards to my circumstance. The salaries for jobs in Utah is pretty bad in comparison to the cost of living, but that has motivated me to seek multiple sources of income such as starting a side business. My whole family lives in Utah now so I will always be connected to Utah but I feel for someone that is career minded, Utah is a good first stepping stone if you are having a hard time finding a job elsewhere. Long story short I do not plan to stay in Utah. It’s a great place to invest in real estate but actually staying here full time for the rest of my life, I think I would be depressed. I can see how people who grew up here don’t mind staying here but if you are used to living in other places that have more to offer, it would be hard to stay in Utah unless you had no choice financially.

      It’s the 3rd most expensive state in the US at least to buy a house in. Otherwise yes it’s much better here 😅
