@@livinginidaho So because politics isn't the reason you left california it's okay to turn Idaho into California? This is why we hate you. Get away. Go.
@@livinginidaho He didn't say they left Cali because of politics and for those who didn't have politics in mind when deciding to leave many still try to bring Cali with them. True not everyone is leaving Cali because of politics but there are many people who are unable to make the connection between their complaints of cali which made them want to leave and the politicies that were involved in those complaints. It's very interesting observing this in people. I've seen Denver change and get worse because of it.
I had family move here to idaho for two years and went back to California. They missed all the amusement parks. They said it was boring in idaho. I disagree I love all the nature idaho offers.
This makes me so happy. I Wish all you crazy libs would move back. Nop doesn't have weed and gambling, and degenerative crap. We know how you all love that shit.
That was the reason I moved back to California as well. Idaho is a fine place with fine people and somewhere I might consider retiring to when my life slows down a little bit 😊
We moved to Boise from Colorado in 2021 to be closer to my in-laws. But we recently left. Three biggest issues we had with Boise were 1. highly inflated housing market 2. lack of job opportunities 3. lack of opportunities for our children.
I came to Idaho from Colorado in 2020 because of the "summer of love 2.0". Best decision I ever made, there is no state that aligns with me more and not only supports my values, but protects them too
Moved here about 2007. We live about 40 minutes south of Boise. The people are very nice, help each other. There is little traffic, even going to/from Boise. And I just found out, tumbleweeds are not native to the Americas. They came from Russia about 1870: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tumbleweed
Not even a Californian or Idaho resident but I wish Californians can go fix their own problems in their own state before telling other natives what to do in THEIR state!
You guys need the advice. You live in a third-world country pretending to be a US state. Its a deployed location without any if the benefits of being one.
Sorry to say but Idahoans absolutely need some advice. Im a California transplant. The majority of Californias flaws are not infrastructure related, they arent solely economical (CAs economy is booming in comparison), taxes are higher but so are incomes and jobs are far easier to find. The flaws are politically motivated. Unless you are a super woke progressive, you will find your opportunities limited in CA. People from Idaho are very biased and opinionated about a state they have never seen, the people from a state they have never met, and generally have a superiority complex towards all Californians. All of their information is driven by RUclips and fear. You dont want Californians here, you want to stop the march towards growth? Too late Idaho, the growth was initiated by all the development being done and there is no stopping the momentum (a body in motion…). You dont want Californians?? The alternative is gaining tons of illegals as treasure valley is 25 minutes from the Oregon border, so dont be surprised when your super cheap way of living you want to protect is invaded and these developments are filled by illegals when the builders have no other way to sell their developments and because you all want to fight that momentum. They will subsidize these houses to avoid taking massive losses and they will be given to illegals for free. Dont believe me?? Check out NY and their new multimillion dollar high rises filled with President Brandons finest. The thought process here is so myopic. You are so focused on the immediate, you don’t think the future is coming. You want the In N Out, the Top Golf etc, you just dont want people who support and allow for that growth to come here? Makes perfect sense. I bought my Idaho house from this guy and would love to have a real, honest conversation about the things people from California should consider before making the move, none of which are on this list.
We tried. We had 2 recalls for Gov. Newscum. The political deck is stacked against us. The citizens of California cannot fight Sacramento. Not moving to Idaho. I am going to Arkansas. Just wanted to address your question. I look at websites from all states. Not just Idaho.
Great vid. Piece of advise in regard to Boise snow driving, when Boise gets snow, sometimes it comes down rough and lots of Cali drivers cause wreaks on the morning commute. If lots of snow happens, please take the opportunity to take your car out to a snowy and slick open parking lot and find out how your car handles in adverse traction situations. It may save your/someone’s life one day knowing how to handle a slide in snow. Remember every car already has 4-wheel-brakes
@marknomura7453 But only slow enough for the road & conditions. Mountain Highways have "super" or an angle built into the corners so you don't slide off the outside, but going to slow causes cars to slide to the inside, into the opposite lane.
My brother moved to Montana, from San Francisco of all places. Lived there a year and 3/4, bit the bullet and move that back to San Francisco, couldn’t stand it couldn’t stand the mentality , didn’t like the locals, and this guy is as low-key as they come. So he is so glad to be back in California regardless of anything else. To each their own
One of the best insights I’ve seen on RUclips about not just Idaho but any city in general. Very friendly personality that helps you understand that there are differences and there will be challenges when relocating from any city or state, in my case, SoCal to Idaho.
I moved to Phoenix Arizona in 1993 and it was clean and cheap. Now it's turned into California so I left after 25 years. Good luck Boise, time to move to Montana or Nebraska.
@@moodypet8837 It seems like the only places suitable for those who can't take Phoenix levels of heat would be, say, Prescott. Maybe Sedona. Sedona is not really a place a person who needs to work for a living can resettle in though, as there's not much economic oppty beyond tourism. Prescott might be more manageable - not sure what you do but you might check it out. Where will you go if you don't remain in AZ?
True, winter can either keep you locked in, or it can be the reason you get! I have it on my list to go do some winter hot springs. What do you do in the winter Kevin?
I don't like winter & I live on a ranch in Montana. It's still winter on April 19. We just had a blizzard last night & I have a drift in front of my shed that's been there since November. But summer is so amazing it makes it all worthwhile.
@@angeladansie4378 Summer in Phoenix, az. Is amazing too 😂. You get to experience 115 degree heat every single day for 4 months straight 😂. 🔥🥵🥵. I'm going back to Cali Soon thank God.
I've found that as I got older the less my body could tolerate cold weather. When I was younger really enjoyed winter sports, but did not suffer arthritis or joint pain. Warm dry climate is my speed these days. High humidity also verboten!
Thank you for an unbiased Idaho perspective and for understanding what you are saying. I'm a 54-year-old Idahoan, born and raised, and your perspective seems to be pretty spot on. In my twenties, I moved away and spent 20 years between Baltimore, Maryland, and Dayton, Ohio. I enjoyed both places but always felt like I NEEDED to get back home. I finally made it back in my 40s. As you pointed out, earning enough to match the cost of living is challenging, but if you can do it, it's worth it! For those considering moving here, the rumors about Idahoans not being all that friendly are true! But only towards those who want to CHANGE what we have. If you love it so much that you want to live here, please understand that we will not like you if you try to turn it into the place you wanted to escape! While we are not all that diverse, we (most of us) value and welcome diversity. Bring your diversity here, but BLEND it with what we already have rather than change what we have to match your ideas.
As someone who moved here from Cali, you are spot on with these 5 things. I think most Californians who have moved here, did so for the culture and values here. One thing you could have added though is health care. Our healthcare choices here in Idaho are definitely more limited. Over all hubby and I are grateful we made the choice to more here and raise our son.
Californians are never gonna get weather better, they would be smart to vote out ones causing them to move, rather going to states that are too cold or hot.
@@kevinflaherty6028 It is because demographically its a lost cause. When Americans are the minority, you get CA. If you wonder why CA seems like a Third World nation sometimes its because the majority of the population hails from the Third World - even the degraded state of CA is an upgrade compared to where they or their parents came from. There's a couple million people who come from a place where more than half the population still poops outdoors. So what do you expect?
@@johnjustintime3798 ok,wasn't thinking about that, but your right ,most people are from other countries really poor and they can accept living as serfs in corrupt state, but ya better than Honduras, or Nicaragua I guess.

It's a real thing. I lived in NY for twenty years and raised my two kids there. I decided to move back to MN/ND. A year later, my daughter, her husband and kids moved to Fargo, ND. They stayed three years. My daughter didn't like people's "attitudes " and moved back. She also said she understood me more as this is where I'm originally from. She used to think I was just crazy. Now she knows it's an entire culture. I STILL don't completely understand what her problem was. Regardless. She did have a better life financially in Fargo. Their brand new apartment had a double garage and every amenity. They now live in a house turned into two apartments built in 1900 in a Buffalo ghetto area for more money. No play area for kids. At least not the massive options available in Fargo.
They're probably referring to feeling politically and/or socially isolated. Should have just moved to the North End instead.....she'll find the echo chamber she is looking for. And in all fairness, conservatives also feel isolated surrounded by liberals. But, and this is an important distinction, conservatives are far more tolerant and accepting of differences in opinions than liberals are....so it doesn't bother us quite as much as it bothers them. So when a conservative moves because a place has gotten too politically hostile, you know its got to be truly an extreme situation. Hence, the exodus of conservatives from dark blue metros like the Bay Area and LA.
I moved here from Roseville, just North of Sacramento eight years ago. We lived in Calif for sixty years and only wish I had moved to Idaho right after I retired instead of waiting another ten years. Don't mind the winters, frankly they are not that bad. Boise may get nineteen inches of snow per year on average, but it rarely accumulates more than two or three inches at one time and melts quickly. The exception was the winter of 2016-17, locally referred to as "snowmageddon" a climatic anomaly. Summers are warmish, but on average, ten degrees cooler than where we came from, so that is a plus. Housing has gone up, traffic has increased greatly over the time we have lived here. But, there are lots of cities around Boise where real estate is less expensive and one reason why we built in a city to the West of the capitol. Politics and a conservative Idaho society are two of the reasons why we moved here and we have never regretted the decision to get out of California. Idaho has a smaller Government, one with a smaller footprint, one that is much less involved in social justice and regulating peoples lives. Never think that there are not so called progressives in Idaho. They are here and very vocal about how backward we are. Thankfully, they are in the minority, but if they ever get control, Idaho will just be another Calif, Oregon, Washington. Idaho is a great place to live, but it is not perfect for everyone. One thing to remember about California, it is a large state and very diverse geographically. Some areas are very hot, like Redding and Bakersfield. Some are temperate, usually on the coast. The Sierras have long very snowy winters like the Idaho mountains. Think about all the issues before you move.
I'm from Roseville too! Absolutely hate it here but it is nicer than other areas at least it used to be. It's turning into sacramento now. Homeless are here and crime has increased. There was a shooting at the library where a hostage was killed and there are robberies at the galleria some people are even held at gun point. There was a recent shooting in the parking garage and someone was murdered. I hate the politics in this state and the "progressive" movement. I am hoping to move to Idaho soon and enjoy the what makes it so great.
@@dasse6637 It's got to be the demographics - more "diversities" (unless they're the Asian professional ones) result in increases in most categories of crimes, not just the property crimes, but also the far more disturbing and personally impactful "crimes against persons". Its bad enough having your stuff stolen, or having to see graffiti and litter despoiling your neighborhood, but imagine if you are subjected to robberies, carjackings, random (but mostly racially targeted) assaults and other sorts of daily infringements on your traditional way of life ; this to me is what is the most appalling aspect of the racial aggression that is manifested by immigration and "multi-culturalism". It puts the "native" population in severe danger, degrades their society, upends their way of life, and is psychologically harmful. Its demoralizing not just on the personal level but on the social and national level too .We have all seen the studies that show how social trust is approaching zero thanks to the Balkanization that has been forced on this nation since 1965. I think a big component of the allure of Idaho is to escape that. Joe Biden called it the racial jungle, and while we make fun of him for it now, he wasn't wrong - it was perhaps one of the few honest public statements the man has ever made - articulating the horrors of forced integration and the problems that arise from trying to force disparate people into an association one or both of them do not voluntarily endorse or seek. I always tell folks, that the base reason for wanting to move to Idaho is "To be with my people." Because that is a natural human impulse. Nobody wants to live in a conquered territory, or a place from which their people have been essentially evicted or otherwise displaced by an influx of foreigners (which is what has happened to everyone who lives in a metro area of California over the last 50 years). A lot of us finally just said "Enough." We want to live in America, not some hybridized Third World colony.
Moved here from Folsom..Loved Folsom and Ca. back in the 80's/90's..raised three kids...lived there 33 years..Got tired of cost of living...ridiculous taxes...stupid politics...so, I retired and moved to Eagle..Love it here...winters aren't that bad here but not fun...traffic is getting worse...people are super friendly and helpful...much slower pace..folks don't want Ca politics or chaos here...I go to Phoenix/Scottsdale/Walnut Creek/anywhere it's warm off and on during the winter ..Been here 6 years..have no desire to return to Ca. other than to visit...Always voted Red so in Ca I was in the minority...Not why I left rather being forced to live by politics determined by lunatics.....Never here, I hope!
Speaking from an Idaho perspective but outside of Boise; Boise sure has mild Winters and super hot summers. So if Boise weather is a problem, be sure and stay away from the rest of the State.
I moved here from California. California is fast paced compared to Idaho. I love Idaho, California has changed for the worst in the last ten years. I would think the cold winters would bring on winter kill. I came from a place where the lowest temp in winter was around 25*. Here I’ve experienced -19.
Agree but that's mostly the metro areas. CA has a ton of entertainment and a lot of people there obviously so there is always a sense of hustle and bustle in the population centers. But a smaller town in CA is not too unlike a similar sized place in Idaho in that aspect (of feeling fast paced or not). I've often thought that were CA not a political lost cause (due to the demographic disaster that has unfolded there), much of the state would still be perfectly livable - the way it was when I was growing up in the Seventies. For example most of the Northern and Inland portions, excluding the mountains and the desert of course. Not as much so as the coastal region where everyone wants to live, but a lot of the relatively unpopulated portions of CA also have a moderate climate. Most of my life I thought at some point I'd just move up to the Sierras. But I've learned that lifestyle requires some sacrifices. And unfortunately as a product of Suburbia, there are some things I have become acclimated to. In addition to the mountain climate extremes, you are then also dealing either with extreme tourism or extreme isolation - there aren't that many places that have a happy medium. Think of how McCall is in the summer, then multiply that by 10 and that's what Tahoe is like every summer - its very frustrating for the locals, even though many of them rely totally on tourism for their livelihood - they get to experience the madness of crowds that also brings drugs, crime, litter, etc. All the social ills you moved away from the cities to escape, will come to a tourist area if its popular enough or in close enough proximity to attract the metro people. I don't mind occasional cold or heat , but after seeing how my mountain friends were snowed in by blizzards and had to get snowcatted supplies, or got evacuated because the ice snapped all the power lines and they had no heating, it sort of turned me off the idea. I'd still consider the Sierra foothills (although you have the wildfire issues and the fire insurance fiasco now). Idaho for me offers enough of a balance where I can still basically live in a burb but get up to the mountains easily. The other CA people I know appreciate this too. Most of us aren't cold-weather people, because we were born and raised at sea level in a coastal area. But we like the opportunity to do winter sports also. Its sort of funny, instead of sitting in traffic on US 80 for 2 hours we can sit in traffic on 55 for 2 hours. Not much has changed with that!
"I love Idaho, California has changed for the worst in the last ten years." Now that so many of your Californians have moved here, it's IDAHO that's "changed for the worst in the last ten years." Thanks to you all.
Weather was a big reason why I moved, I wanted more sun. I also don’t want to deal with tons of snow which make Boise perfect as it doesn’t get tons of snow in the winter.
Where are you now? I felt the same way as a Californian. I like occasional winter sports, but I also like being able to drive there to experience it, and then go BACK. I don't want to LIVE in the snow. I just want to visit it, LOL.
You could probably put together a '50 big reasons why Idahoans regret letting Californians move to their state'. You could say the same for those in Northern Cali, about regretting other Californians moving up to their areas.
Why do you say "their state" and "their area" they don't own it. Everyone is trying to find happiness and what is best for them. Some people move to diff areas, states, or countries.
I just wish everyone’s grand pappy, who went through CA during WW2, would have stayed in their home state. Instead, they came to CA, farted out some spoiled little boomer shits who eventually became hippies/commies and destroyed CA. Most of that can be traced back to other states. So thanks. It’s your families fault CA is full of progressive idiots.
I lived in Boise for over 10 years. Raised both my kids there. Moved when they were 2 and 6 from Seattle. I don’t enjoy living there because of the people and uptight laws. It’s absolutely beautiful and I definitely miss it. Would not live there but will definitely visit again
Been In Reno for over 20 years. Reno, NV, and Boise have a lot in common. One of those is the Californian invasion which caused extremely high real estate prices. Greed has fueled the real estate market in both cities. After this real estate bubble pops, and all the new residents lose thousands, they will go home.
@@livinginidahoyour correct having lived through some very bad recessions it will come. No way citizens will continue to afford the prices today. Hell food prices alone are insane … real estate is still high and rents are insane pretty much in all states. But it’s definitely gonna pop..

I told all my friends in the Bay Area about Idaho... they were super excited! I think maybe 5 or 6 families packed up from Oakland and left for Boise. I would join but im not from the bay
45 years ago, there was from a bumper sticker "Don't Californicate Oregon". I never saw an Idaho version, but I don't think California had discovered Idaho by then.
Both Idaho and Montana get pretty chilly in the winter, but Montana usually has harsher and longer cold spells. Either way, both states offer great winter activities!
the conservative values you talked about are why I would want to live in Idaho... but being Asian American (Born, bred, and bled - hooah) I have heard that anti-Asian sentiment is a good reason NOT to move to ID or MT. Wondering if there is straight talk about that aspect. I am fairly independent, could run a ranch/farm, can build/fix most anything, etc. and want some space between myself and my neighbors.... thoughts?
I live in Montana & have never seen any anti-Asian sentiments expressed or any hate crimes directed at Asians here. There is a fairly decent sized Asian population in Butte, left over from the mining days. I live just south of there & we have some Asian families in town. In fact, we're delighted that one of them just opened an Asian mix restaurant & serve Thai food. Nicest folks. I don't think you'd have any problem
I think it’s more of a getting use too thing. Has nothing to do with anywhere you move, it’s just hard to move to another state and start over without no friends and no family. If you were taking your friends and family with you then it would be soo much easier but that’s not the case. You move to another state that might be cheaper maybe safer but once you get there, you are alone.
@Bxgent1988 Yes, you are right. I've seen a lot of Californians experience the same thing in New Mexico. They're relieved when they arrive, but they miss their friends and family, and jumping into a social life is harder than they thought it would be. Not that people aren't welcoming --they're busy with friends, family and work. That's why it's important to have a job to step into and know where your skillset is needed, rather than just showing up.
As someone who lived in densely(over 1mil) and moderately (100K) populated cities due to work, I can tell you that I'm glad to be going back to the metro soon. I feel like I'm in a ghost town right now and the walls are closing in.
Idaho, seems like the end of the line with nowhere else to go. My brother moved there several years ago to be with wife's family but if he out lives her then he is gone. I live in Northern California, and it has everything that Idaho has I am sure so I really get tired of hearing about what a paradise Idaho, is. Cal has always been a paradise to me and everywhere I've ever been I was glad to get back here.
I am an Idaho native, and I am sad to see so many people moving here. I can remember when the Ketchum/Sun Valley area was a fun, family friendly and affordable place to camp, fish and play in. Now it is overpopulated and expensive with a bunch of entitled assholes who have ruined the whole area. Locals avoid it! And when people talk about our seasons, please know that you go from one extreme to the other, very hot or very cold, and usually very dry with low humidity. (Not great for the skin) And the wind never stops blowing, which is great for clean air, but in the winter it’s the cold wind that will cut through you like a knife. You might get just a few inches of snow, but the wind will turn it into large drifts. You will shovel yourself out, only to have the wind fill it back in.
I was going to move to Boise from Orlando FL. I'm glad I decided on Leadville Colorado instead. I didn't want to move to another overpriced, ugly city, and if I'm going to live in some place rural, it's going to be in a somewhat affordable mountain town in the forest, not the desert. Boise gets way too hot for me as someone who loves very cold winters and cool summers. If Idaho Falls wasn't so isolated, I'd consider living there over Boise for the weather alone. Places like Ketchum are pretty but way too expensive. I love living in a place where I never have to use air conditioning. I can handle the cold. It's the heat, dry or wet that I can't stand. As far as politics go, I wish Colorado as a whole was a bit more conservative, but both sides have terrible policies, so moving based on politics is rather pointless. I will say though, I hate California and most of the people that move from there, and I'm certainly not sorry for saying it. No one who encounters these people is better for the experience. I do get joy watching teslas with California plates getting stuck up here and towed away in the winter, though, hopefully never to return.
I flew to Idaho a week before my buddies wedding. Him, my other buddy who lives there and I drove around and i thought it was great. The wedding was awesome out on a ranch with a country band. I was the only Hispanic at the wedding and everyone was great.
During 1981 to 1983 I was a missionary in Idaho. I lived all across the state from Boise to Rexburg and in between. I'm from California. During those two years nearly every young person I met was bored to death living in Idaho. And being a missionary I met A LOT of people. They ALL were interested in California. That's just the way it was. Many of them I knew did move away over time. I get it that Californians can sell their homes for a mint and then go to Idaho with money only the largest of farmers might have. And they can afford most any home they want. But I don't believe most Idahoans dislike Californians. That was never my experience. Especially the LDS members, which predominate in eastern Idaho.
"But I don't believe most Idahoans dislike Californians. That was never my experience. Especially the LDS members, which predominate in eastern Idaho." That's what you get for living in your LDS Bubble. Try being non-LDS in Idaho and see.
Everywhere they go home prices go up after they leave in most cases that would be good but now I think it's bad because it makes affordability too high along with higher taxes.. what also seems to happen is speculations seem to start appearing on the Sean.
I lived in Idaho in the mid 80s, but stupidly thought I had to be closer to family in SoCal and it was never a good fit for me down here and the family all left, and I want to come back. I have seen a lot of Idaho plates down here lately.
All those Idaho plates are from Californians who moved to Idaho and are now telling all their friends and family to move TO Idaho. And THAT is what's ruining our quality of life in Idaho.
@@livinginidaho Absolutely the political climate. Restrictive, forced policies that do not align with our beliefs, and unbelievable soft on crime policies.
You are talking Boise area. Boise and most of the larger towns in Idaho are along the Snake river valley. Much of Idaho is actually cool in the summer, colder in the winter, a lot fewer jobs, and even more conservative.
back in the 70,s people from back east moved to california and started the trend of making a western state into an eastern type state and thats when that states downfall started along with the other western states
CA was pretty much conservative or moderate until immigration did a number on it. It wasn't the "california exodus" from the 1960s and 1970s. Ronald Reagan was governor for 8 years until 1975, by which time the effects of the demographic shift due to the 1965 Immigration and National Act, and the cultural malaise of the 70s came into play. By the 1990s, a mostly still balanced electorate had demographically tilted over to unbreakable democrat uniparty control and its been a trainwreck ever since . There's no "check and balance" operating in CA anymore so it reflects the worst excesses of what is arguably the most reckless political ideology ever created.
Californians should check out West Virginia along with Idaho.Real Estate prices and property taxes in West Virginia are among the lowest in the country.
My husband & I plus 2 daughters moved from SoCal to the Boise Idaho area 35 years ago. Our third child was born in 1991 a Son. We would never ever move back to SoCal. We go back to visit periodically but our home is in Meridian Idaho. My husband and I would never try to change Idaho, we love it here. Also when we moved to Idaho we were registered as independents & years later we are much more conservative so are now registered as Republicans.

Yeah it’s so unfortunate how the beautiful state of CA has become like you said it’s a lost cause :/ people need to stop voting blue!! We almost had that tyrant governor out of office but people are so dumb and ignorant in this state! I just want my freedom back!
Bro, what are you doing? The snow never sticks, every inch of those 19 inches melt the next day. There is no driving in snow unless you’re trying to drive in the middle of a storm to get somewhere
Hi Francis, you are correct the snow doesn't really stick around. But you do have to drive in it when it does come, unless you work from home and don't have to leave your house. The city does a good job of clearing the major roads though. Thanks for your comments.
I met a Californian in a convertible bmw, who went in the oncoming lane in a construction zone to pass traffic, and greeted me with a middle finger and blaring music when i asked wtf. This 40 yo man living a mid life crisis wasnt very nice. Neither was the lighter i put behind his tire.

@@livinginidaho I work in the semiconductor industry. 22 years ago I was living in Austin, Tx on a specialized team of 32 people that was disbanded by the company. We were told to either move to NY, ID, or take the chance of getting laid off. I'd been to both NY and ID while on the team and loved ID very much. I moved the family here, and despite opportunities to relocate again to places that may have put us closer to family back east (I'm a born and raised Hoosier), we just couldn't see raising our kids anywhere else. It was the best decision for our family and we've not regretted one minute it. Well..... perhaps a minute or two during "snow-pocalypse" 😉
This was an excellent balanced video. The sad thing about California is that when your children grow up and graduate from any college with mountains of student debt they cannot afford to live in California because real estate is obscenely high. So your kids move away. 😢 I also find it hilarious how people in California are soooooooo concerned about diversity. Diversity diversity diversity. But don’t dare express any idea that is different from the masses here or you’ll be cancelled. 🤣
Just to be clear since I’m from far Northern conservative California, and we all don’t care. Only the LA, Bay Area and Sacramento blue purple haired Commie-freaks care about that diversity garbage! The majority of the conservative population which is twice the size of Idaho’s entire population, does not care and would like things returned to pre-2000s education system and culture! It’s actually a very small minority that frauds the votes with Dominion and Gavin NewScum, that unfortunately controls most of the political BS you see from the Cabal MSM.

Depends on where in Idaho. The southern part of Idaho is pretty open minded, especially in the cities. Even as a white woman I wouldn't live in the panhandle, especially north of Couer D'Alene. That's where the northern KKK has their compounds (they don't call themselves that, but that's what they are)

When I go to California I meet some of the nicest, most like-minded people. They mostly only live way outside the cities. Like most states I find city people to be arrogant and useless. The Californians that I have encountered here in VA are the city ones. While they seem to try to be nice, they are so just condescending pricks. I honestly don't think they intend to be dick heads. They just truly believe they are better than everyone else on the planet.
Just because someone moves doesn't mean they leave their unhappy, obstinate selves in CA. They just bring it with them. Doesn't matter where they live, that's how they are.
Just because they move from California doesn’t mean they were born and raised in California. A lot of them are transplants. Real Californias are much more conservative than you think.
A lot is financial.. Median home price of Sacramento is the same as Meridian now. Most of us moved here in housing boom 04/05' when it was a great value here. It no longer is a great value.

I was just talking with a gentleman from Colorado the other day, they're getting their house ready to sale because the political climate has changed so much on them. Southern Idaho is a generally conservative region, and the majority of its residents tend to vote Republican. It sounds like you won't mind the winters here. We don't get as much snow as you and you'd definitely be taking a step down in elevation.... from 5,994′ to 2,730′. Well the skyrocketing has already stopped and has been in a decline for the last year, so why are you still so pessimistic? Shouldn't this development be making you happy?

It's very interesting observing this in people. I've seen Denver change and get worse because of it.

@@officialpuppydog3688 Do you speak English? I cannot figure out what you are trying to say.
Great advice. I remember doing this when I got my license

As someone who moved here from Cali, you are spot on with these 5 things. I think most Californians who have moved here, did so for the culture and values here. Last person talked with said they were leaving because they didn’t like “the attitude” here in North Idaho! Yippee!
That’s a first.
We are not religious at all and the brain dead population is very, very intolerant of any free thinking. We are here for the summers and the geography and NOT the people. Best of luck!
Yah, if you can’t handle boise winters you probably don’t want Idaho.
I moved here from California. California is fast paced compared to Idaho. I love Idaho, California has changed for the worst in the last ten years. I would think the cold winters would bring on winter kill. I came from a place where the lowest temp in winter was around 25*. Here I’ve experienced -19.
All good points. There are many differences. Thanks for sharing
Weather is a big factor in my decision of where to live. Must have public lands and trees which Idaho has, but I don't like snow.
No one gave a shit about Idaho until they let their home state get f'd up!!
Letting? It's a free country, no one needs your permission to move to a new state.
Time will tell. Every year certain people say it’s gonna “pop” and every year it keeps going.
You do realize the greed you mention is local homeowners taking advantage of the influx, right?
Calis ruined Reno my new home.

@@livinginidahoIt's hard to imagine so you have a good headline. I've lived in CA and now live in Idaho and Idaho is by far the best place I've ever lived and I wish I had moved here sooner.
If you don’t like traffic, constant road construction, hot and smoky summers, and seeing every field become a subdivision, DON’T move here. As a 31 year resident, let me just say Boise has lost a HUGE amount of the charm it once had.
Those are familiar sights to Californians from both Northern and Southern CA.

How different is Montana winter compared to Idaho winter?
Both Idaho and Montana get pretty chilly in the winter, but Montana usually has harsher and longer cold spells. Either way, both states offer great winter activities!

Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it. Where are you watching from?
the conservative values you talked about are why I would want to live in Idaho... but being Asian American (Born, bred, and bled - hooah) I have heard that anti-Asian sentiment is a good reason NOT to move to ID or MT. Wondering if there is straight talk about that aspect. I am fairly independent, could run a ranch/farm, can build/fix most anything, etc. and want some space between myself and my neighbors....
thoughts?
Jason, thanks for sharing your thoughts. I did a video that can help answer your question, check it out - ruclips.net/video/ppiuxciB5sU/видео.html
I honestly do not believe you, as an Asian American, would have any issues in Idaho.
@@cindymswyo Hi Cindy, what is it that you don't believe?
There is a lot if Asian Americans in Idaho , most of them are in meridian or boise.
That is one of the hard parts of moving.
Thanks for watching
The back roads from Boise to Caldwell are not as busy as the highway.
No illegal migrants living in Leadville?
If not then you’re one lucky person!

Mild to some, to cold for others. Boise compared the the rest of idaho is very mild

You got that right.
All good points. Thanks for sharing

I’m an Idahoan who had to leave Idaho for a job in California. Now it’s so expensive in Idaho that I can’t afford to move back.
Idaho's winters are pretty moderate too.
Depends where in idaho and where your from.
Everywhere they go home prices go up after they leave in most cases that would be good but now I think it's bad because it makes affordability too high along with higher taxes.. what also seems to happen is speculations seem to start appearing on the Sean.
It's not only the prices of homes for sale, rents go up as well.
If you already own a house, what difference does it make?
I lived in Idaho in the mid 80s, but stupidly thought I had to be closer to family in SoCal and it was never a good fit for me down here and the family all left, and I want to come back. I have seen a lot of Idaho plates down here lately.
All those Idaho plates are from Californians who moved to Idaho and are now telling all their friends and family to move TO Idaho. And THAT is what's ruining our quality of life in Idaho.
Y'all from Idaho are gifted. Protect your way of life and freedom because before you know it, they're closing up on you.

back in the 70,s people from back east moved to california and started the trend of making a western state into an eastern type state and thats when that states downfall started along with the other western states

California was conservative well into the 90s. Orange County was still voting for Republicans for President until 2012.

There should be a 5 year moratorium on voting, if you change states of residence.
Interesting
Thanks for watching and commenting
Its just like i said you come to idaho being takers rather than givers....rather than bringing good jobs to a state the bring poor payijobs in industries that are not sustainable and when they do bring good paying they give them to all their freinds from ca ....and you want to know why you have an affordability crisis in the treasure valley.....start doing something sustainable locally for communities and the local economies if towns across idaho cali people!
What jobs are you referring to that they are bringing?
Was born and raised in So. Cal. Was seventh gen. Hated living there the last twenty years. Moved to Northern Idaho over three years ago and have not looked back! Love being with people that think the same way I do. CONSERVATIVE!!!!!!
P.S. I have owned property in north Idaho since 2006, been coming here since 1990….
Thanks for sharing
There's way too many leftists here. I moved here from a conservative neighborhood in NYC and the amount of leftism here has been a shock to me. Also, I expected more social conservatism (ie women without tattoos, women dressed conservatively, less single moms).
Did you join one of the militias or groups such as the 3%ers, Proud Boys, QAnon, Oath Keepers.

When you get old, you'll want to be back where your origin is, whether it was "red", "blue", "pink", "purple", "orange" or whatever.
I'm from Boise and will basically never be able to afford a home here. We can only hope they regret it and leave so housing prices stop skyrocketing. fml
Well the skyrocketing has already stopped and has been in a decline for the last year, so why are you still so pessimistic? Shouldn't this development be making you happy?
@@johnjustintime3798 didn't realize .if that's the case then yeah I agree, cause to be happy
@@johnjustintime3798 Duh, because the house prices are still out to ridiculous for native idahoans who didn't sell their homes in C
I’m sorry that you can’t afford a home in Boise. Home prices consistently go up over the years and decades.
Don’t let a Californian out work you plain and simple
I think we should not expect Californians in other states. And when I say, Californians, I'm not referring to people from the state of California. I'm referring to people who actively try to change where they move to immediately.
I'M SORRY I JUST CAUGHT YOUR COMMENT THAT SAID WHY PEOPLE TO MOVE TO IDAHO END UP LEAVING. I HAVE LIVED IN IDAHO FOR 40+ YEARS NOW AND WOW I GUESS I DIDN'T LEAVE,NOR DO I INTEND TO. UNLESS I MOVED TO A MOVED SOME PLACE MUCH LESS POPULATED; AND GOOD LUCK WITH THAT IN 2024
Facts are in the 50s California got a 1000 ppl a day from all the over states ballooned our population to 40M a very small percent is leaving I’m sure it seems like a lot to smalller populations believe nobody felt stress of having more ppl then it could handle more then cal
I live here and this states rent is threw the roof ive also seen a increase in crime and violence ive had two drive by shootings in my neighborhood
Ooooooo19” of snow!!!
That’s like, one good storm where I live.
I always pray for storms like that
Its kinda nice that we don't have to shovel a lot of snow, but at the same time you kinda wish you got more snow sometimes just so you have something to play in. Where are you from Kevin?
@@livinginidaho Too soon? I'm so tired of shoveling snow. Not in Boise though.
It hasn't stopped snowing. I don't think it ever will.
Andrea where do you live?

Cheap houses in Boise are no more. Bought a house in 1990 for $60k. Today it would sell for $300k.
Sounds about right. Lots of demand here in the valley
That's everywhere in the US. It's got nothing to do with Californians moving to your state.
@@MirzaAhmed89 … the population of the Boise valley has doubled in the last thirty years. Housing Supply lags the demand. Inflation is one factor in housing costs. everywhere in the country housing costs haven’t gone up 5x. Idaho is popular compared to other locales. Now compare that to say, Oklahoma or Wyoming.
Moved here 2 years ago and would never go back to Cali… thank you !
Glad your here! What do like most about Idaho?
@@livinginidaho the freedom , the people , the area I live in … truly feels like home. The weather is NOT what many could get used to but for the peace I’m living now, wouldn’t change it .

Another excellent video
Thank you Danny, I’m glad you’re enjoying them.
Californians leave because they’re too bored in Idaho. Not used to having seasons where they can’t do everything all the time… they need the sensory overload
Thanks for sharing, that is a good point, I’m curious 🧐 if others would agree. I could totally see how that would be a thing as being in winter right now is very limiting for the things we can do here in Idaho.

If you understand that there's no "z" in "Boise," that would help a lot. And if someone has a legit lisp, that's ok too. "Boithe" is much preferable to "Boize."
Hi Brian, thanks for the heads up. I’d totally fix it if I could.
What?! Are you mocking our accent?!?
@@ianhansen6840 Whose accent? Idahoans? Idaho native here, and a Boisean for 20+ years. I'm just saying that mispronouncing Boise as Boize will mark a person as an outsider.
Any machinists jobs out there.
I grew up in Idaho and spent much of my life in other places, before returning several years ago. I think it's funny to read all this shit about Idaho and Boise, as it comes across on the Internet. It's a big echo chamber, of people who know next to nothing, trying to be the Big Expert.
