Great video and info. My wife and I went through something similar. The move was very stressful, but worth it. Best decision of our lives was moving to the beautiful, free state of Idaho. Let’s make sure us transplants keep Idaho as it is. I moved here to escape a liberal hellhole, not to create a new one.
Leave Portland values in Portland. You all move in and then keep a super liberal mayor in power.
As a native, I hate to see our area growing so much…I am sad that housing prices are becoming unreachable for so many of the young local families. That was a great thing about our state even 5 years ago. (Housing was very affordable.). Wages have not grown with the extreme climb of housing prices and interest rates. With all of that being said, you two seem like very kind people and a great addition to our state.
I didn’t hear you discuss the extremely low wages, no unions, e extremely impacted schools because no one will approve a bond to build or add onto existing schools to accommodate all the growth, also the fact that residents can not afford housing because of all the people moving there.
Also all of the OBGYN’s leaving do to the backwards changes of women’s health policy.
I moved to Meridian from southern California, and this lady is 100% correct. Before anyone moves here listen to the bad and the good.....do your research!
when U move to IDAHO leave UR SHIT in the last home
I lived in central Idaho up on a mountain, I wouldn't trade that for anything!! I miss Idaho very much my hubby and I move from The serra;s in Ca, to Idaho and it was a wonderful move!!
I’m glad it worked out for you! Thanks for watching
Really enjoyed the video. I just feel that the housing market is being propped up by out of state buyers, but I think the migration is slowing down. Is this true? Also I have heard that the builders are slowing down and that is keeping the inventory low which also keeps the prices up. Is this correct?
Thanks
Great job. You guys have excellent screen energy!!
Thank you and thanks for watching.
Another great video! I'm thinking of coming out to the Boise area next month and checking things out. Really considering making the move permanently, but am thinking of renting for a year to see how I like it and if it's somewhere I can call home. I found a really nice apartment complex in Meridian that I'm considering for the first year, and really hoping the home prices come down within the next year as well. Excited to check things out though!
We’re here for you to help with transition. Are you planning a scouting trip?
Craig
@livinginidaho Hey Craig! I thought about doing that for sure. We're only going to be in town for a few days, and just like you did before making the move out there, I've watched a ton of RUclips videos. 😃 But it would be nice to have something a little more organized, especially since we're only going to be there for a short time.
Great practical info from you and your wife. My wife and I would pull the trigger today if I could find a job there.
Thanks for watching… what kind of work do you do?
@@livinginidaho I work for the power company in San Diego. Kinda limited in job options in Boise area. 4 years until I can retire.
Look into power engineers in Hailey
i plan on moving to idaho next summer where is the best apartment to get into
Please could you tell me about house rental in idaho? 2 bedrooms and a bathroom?
Appreciate it 🙏
I'm thinking about moving to idaho, been living in oregon over 30 years, I'm basically starting from scratch, looking at amazon over there, it's good amazon is over there
Thanks for commenting and watching. Have you visited the Boise area?
@livinginidaho no never been in idaho
I don't even know where to start. How much would I need fund wise to get started over there?
You’re not welcome here if you’re a Democrat.
I always wonder about all these California realtors moving to Idaho and promoting more Californians to move here. It just shows you that they are just in it for the money, and quality of life takes a huge hit, more people, more crime, pollution, , out of reach home prices, traffic gridlock, crowds every where.
What cost of living calculator are you using?
Great for you but ,aweful for us natives !! We are being pushed out of our quiet lifestyle we once had!!
Including the complete historical flash drive collection? Think again. Share and share alike.
Still hoping once things get better. #1 is a good job, enough to buy a home and live happy and the American Dream.
Thanks for watching and commenting
I would only live in Idaho, Montana, or Alaska. Getting ready to seek everything in Idaho and retire in Thailand 😅
Into which area do you wish you had relocated?
Our kids school is near Eagle Idaho now… so if we moved there we would cut down on our drive time. We live on the bench and really like it and if we didn’t have to drive far for the kids school we wouldn’t mind. It’s just a bummer that my wife has 2 hours of driving for school.
@@livinginidaho For ten years, I did the same two hours of driving, taking kids from Irvine to Brea for school. It gets to your back after awhile.
So very sad for those of us born and raised here ………Idaho is ruined and will never be the same!!!
Wow really how sad
What's with the recent unsolicited warm-up in relations? Were they debriefed? Beginning with a tech law primer? Did the brainwashing finally wear off?
After 66 years i had to leave compated to 30+ years ago IDAHO SUCKS!
Thanks for that insightful comment :)
Idaho is freezing cold. No thanks.
Boise is pretty mild compared to the rest of the state.
