    As someone who moved RECENTLY from NJ to SLC, SLC is objectively better in everyway still than NJ esepcially comparing to NYC and Philly and other cities in the tristate area. This includes renting and buying house costs. While high still cheaper than the mid east coast...however, let's keep it that way...please...I BEG you.

    Nice video and good info. On your last area, Suncrest, I actually live up here and have lived here for 16 years. I love it up here and wouldn’t trade it for the world. With that said I’d just like to say, I’ve seen quite a lot of families come and go over those years and a lot of them end up leaving quickly because of one major reason, the snow. We get a lot of snow up here. 22/23 winter we got a total snowfall accumulation of 20 feet, 240 inches. It’s no joke and quite a bit different than the valley or even the bottom of the hill in Draper. If you, or anyone looks to coming up this way please take that into mind and be prepared. Still, it’s an awesome place with awesome people, the sense of community is strong in part because we do get those massive snow storms, where we are literally digging out a neighbor or going to pull a stuck vehicle out of the ditch. Just thought I’d mention that, thanks!

    Well you are in real estate so you support everyone moving to Utah and needing a home. 😉 Talk about Tremonton the city that has the fastest growth in Utah and all the problems it comes with for the people that already live there. There are not enough schools, the prices too high for the locals, infrastructure can’t hold up and much more. There is always good and bad, winners and losers.

      Yes I'm in real estate and the people are coming here whether I share content or not... and yes I love to help those coming here and it's so fun to meet and build relationships with them and see how positive and happy they are to experience what this amazing place offers. Tremonton has grown alot yes, but it's a very small community that's just too far from most jobs and too far for most people who who move. Despite the fact that it's grown from 5,700 people to 12,500 people over the last 24 years... it's just too far for most to find a good paying job.

    • @EnthusiastCarHangar
      @EnthusiastCarHangar День назад

      @@scottdsteele There must be a reason Tremonton attracts that many people and is growing much faster. Lots of people moving there work at Northrop Grumman or have a long daily commute. The better air quality and larger lots for less money are also attractive for many. They need to keep building though it’s getting enough. Enough apartments in many places in Utah.

    I actually was expecting a warning about living in Daybreak and those western areas, with it previously being the dumping ground for mining byproducts. Californians have always thumbed their nose at Utah. They feel superior to everyone else and trashed Mormans, Republicans, prioritizing family etc. But now it’s cool to move here? They get to live high on the hog in Utah, they have driven the cost of living up. They are catty and backstabbing at work. They are the fox in the henhouse. It’s ruined Utah. I hope they all hate it and leave.

    I think it's mostly the weather. Prior to moving here Californians have the wrong idea of what our winter is really like. It only takes a few weeks in the low 20s for them to realize that maybe this isn't the place for them and make them go back!!

      @@peacheedandee I don't know why people say that. I've lived in both states, and in my opinion, California drivers are far more aggressive. You get lots of street racing type behavior in southern CA. I don't see that nearly as much here. Plus, with narrow coastal roads and tons of traffic at nearly every hour of the day, driving in CA is more stressful. Utah roads are mostly all right angles and broad, and besides rush hour on I-15, things stay pretty clear.

    If you are considering to making the move to Utah. Utah public schools can not fill the teacher requirement leaving those roles to be filled by Substitute teachers that do not need certification the average pay of those teacher is $16.52 per hour a little bit less than the fast food worker makes in most places in Utah County. Considering the average rent is well above 2000 per month. Who are you getting to teach your kids-safe guard your kids? The average Superintendent salary in Utah is $115,411 as of July 29, 2024, but the range typically falls between $96,804 and $127,479. So people are being paid to NOT teach, but actual people in class rooms-size does matter in Utah struggling for the highest in the nation- is quite a bit less. The average math teacher in Utah is $54,169. Which means they can not afford to buy a house in Utah. Utah does try to say a lot of what they are paying-but in fact many teachers can often be seen at Walmart and target -Dollar Tree buying supplies for kids. As of Aug 6, 2024, the average hourly pay for a Prison Guard in Utah is $17.30 an hour. Also that prison guard is full time. Many teachers are required to have at least one to two other jobs besides teaching to make ends meet.

      Utah just cracked the top 10 for highest starting salaries for teachers and is 9% behind the national average for all teachers pay. Yes, these numbers still aren't enough to buy a home. For a teacher, they would need a spouse or partner to also earn in order to do so. Inflation, the exorbitant amount of money created in response to the pandemic along with under supply and hyper demand for housing here in Utah has made this the greatest threat to our states future

      @@scottdsteele you are saying we are failing with flying colors. If your son has a job and has to live in your basement to make things work and can not support his family on his own, that is not what we aspire too. If you want men and in the class room, we have to make this profession work for men to show boys how to be professional men. The football coach is usually the highest paid teacher in the school. Let's show those moral values. Things cost money and so far we in Utah we want free stuff from other people. Because when we do not pay proper rates for the work that is done, we steal labor. We build neighborhoods without grass in the front yard. Playgrounds that no one would play in. We build places that it is unsafe for kids to ride bikes in, so that we can jam more housing to rent out in. This means the person that is your police officer in the middle of the night doesn't have the middle class upbringing you want them too. The doctor lives in another state. A bifurcated society. Haves and have nots. We are a poverty creation machine we just have to wait 10 years. Short term gains long term pains.

    I moved here to be near my son and DIL stationed at HAFB about 5 years ago. As an active California Realtor, I thought I could get my Utah license (which I did) and help people here with their real estate needs. However, not being LDS, it turns out my supply of possible clients diminished greatly. One agent told me, when asked, would say what Ward they lived in and that would work sometimes. To me, I consider that misleading. Also, being from southern California, I can't find affordable quality restaurants with fresh fish or spicy Spanish foods. Apparently, the majority of Utahns have a mild palette; which the restaurants must tailor their menus to stay in business. A third item for me is the unavailability to play outdoor year-round sports. I play softball. Thank you for being transparent with this video.

      Thanks for sharing! To touch on your first point with respect to being a member of the largest faith here as a Realtor.... that's just not true. It may feel like that to you for whatever reason within the sphere with whom you're associating with but at my brokerage, there are over 100 agents who aren't... you just have to go find your people and your tribe.
