I seen it before my eyes that dashboard is so soulless, it’s truly gone. This here boys is the true end of an era , an era that took risks and failed to then take the world by storm one controller at a time. I’ll never forget playing cod 4 online and nazi zombies w my dad and brother in the same house finding glitches/high rounds. This is a real wake up call telling us that not everything lasts forever whether we lose it or it’s taken from us but one thing that isn’t for sure is the memories the 360 gave us.

@@markrussel-dy7jc world at war was my first intro to zombies right after the campaign ended. it was simple back then , getting the ray gun/flamethrower was a fever dream. To see that modern warfare has zombies shows how ahead of its time it was in my opinion.
Adieu, Xbox 360 Marketplace....Glad I was able to get what I needed before it was gone forever....Hopefully the game servers can be kept up for the 20th anniversary of the console itself, but who knows how long that's going to last.....Farewell Xbox 360 Store, you were great while it lasted...November 25th, 2005 - July 29th, 2024.....😥
Thanks for livestreaming this shutdown and staying up late, Cobatine. As sad as it is, at least the shutdown is preserved here via RUclips. Sad days to see, but the 360 marketplace had one hell of a long run. We won't see that kind of longevity for a game console again.

My heart actually hurts, they stripped the entire dashboard, they didn't even do anything to make it look remotely like what it once was.
I saved my account, and my brothers gave me money to buy clothes for my avatar, but it wasn’t working so we felt like it shutdown…but after trying more and more with my account it was the billing stuff and i bought some final items! Xbox 360 was truly the best console ever ❤️

I was here for 2 hours. I saw the new dashboard and the death of the marketplace. I'm so sad rn
I happened to see it while downloading a few free themes at the last minute. I noticed it started saying they were no longer available in the store even though I just pulled them up. I knew it had just happened.
I fell asleep so I didn't see it on my Xbox woke up because my Xbox was making loud noises

Same. I was on the dashboard waiting for some things to download as it happened. The last thing I wanted to buy as a Black Ops 1 picture pack. It’s all gone now, a complete thing of the past
This was apart of everyone's childhood and Xbox just took it away like that may the Xbox Marketplace R.I.P💜
So many emotions and bodily functions during the store closing. So many memories and all the times we shidded and fardded before and after playing games.
Those memories live on forever.
7/29/24 - I was here to witness the shutdown of the 360 marketplace. This was apart of my childhood and the memories from those times will live on forever. Thank you Cobatine for streaming the last hours and moments of what is now history

I was on the stream from 1:30 AM EST To 1 pm EST. Had my 360 on all night. Such a sad night but the stream was such a vibe, all those memories gone forever. I started playing 360 in 2009 and still have my first 360 in my closet, ( I have two 360s, My first one from 2009 and one from 2016 that I bought refurbished from GameStop) My 360 from 2009 still fires up and everything but disc drive is broke. This will go down as one of the saddest days in gaming history. I’m going to miss the Avatar store song playing bro 😢😭 and scrolling through the theme store and gamer pics and demos, but I’ll always remember the memories RIP XBOX 360 MARKETPLACE November 2005 - July 29th 2029 😭😢🙌🏼

Your effort goes above and beyond the same passion we all share for this console and I respect you because of that. I started following you probably some time earlier this year when I purchased a new xbox 360 online and found out that the marketplace was closing in July. The community you've assembled is truly amazing and actually does mean a lot to me. Somehow i find more enjoyment playing these OG 360 games rather than my PC and PS5. Kudos to you bro and I'm more than happy I'm able to follow you and your community towards the end of this amazing era. 🍻

Why can't the series consoles and the xbox one have an avatar store, live arcade games, hundreds of demos, and achievement items? They had all of this in 2005. Why not now?

i still remember my first time meeting the 360... my buddy introducing me to halo for the first time
even when the shop is down, you can still play everything that was there in some way, modding, whatever you want to do. Online still works.
More than what the Wii got.

I was still able to purchase Dragon Age 2 after the store closed on the Xbox website store. I went to the backwards compatible games and bought Dragon Age 2 for $1.99. It showed up in my download history on my my 360 immediately. Then just hit re-download

Got everything I wanted so no regrets. Maybe just one. Probably should have downloaded all free trial and demos on all the games. Sad times for sure. Hope everybody got what they couldn’t live without.

I’ve been on Xbox Live since 2008. 16 long years the Xbox 360 has been a part of my life and after that time it’s sad to say goodbye. The Golden Age of Xbox/Gaming, whatever you wanna call it is gone. I’ll miss you.
Although it's a bummer it is gone. It's nice that Microsoft refined the dashboard so that most things will work as expected. Rather than leaving it as is and having things be broken.

Honestly I thought they pulled the plug on xbox 360 store on the day xbox one launched. Crazy how long it was still going at least we all can still play the games we already have. I miss the halo 3 and halo reach days although they are still online for next Gen but miss playing on the 360 live
The Xbox 360 was the biggest part of my life while all my brothers was playing the xbox1 and never let me play I had my Xbox 360 and I always played it until 2019 then I got a Xbox 1x RIP Xbox servers and Xbox marketplace you will be missed

I live in California and it shutdown at 10:00 am. I was in the middle of buying Avatar items when it happened.
They really didn’t shut it down, they just removed it on the Xbox 360. It is still connected to the next gen, the cloud is still there. So the only true issue here is the games that does not have a backwards compatible port to them.
They "shut it down" just to make quick buck from desparate people...

I remember getting an Xbox in like 2005 as a surprise birthday gift from my dad. The white one with Halo CE and random OG Xbox game. Then the stretch halo 2, 3, reach, black ops 1 Modern warfare’s Guitar hero and so on. I played it with my bro all the way til 2010 where I got red ring.
I got the limited edition Halo 4 Xbox in 2012 and went back to 360 gaming after a long hiatus. From then on to 2015 was peak 360 gaming for me although next gen was already out. BO2 Borderlands Halo GTA V Charlie murder whatever free game was on took over. I played 360 over the years and finally beat RE4 a month ago.
Sad to see it go but all good things must end

From the moment I fell in love with u in 2012, u brought the most fun times when I booted u up to play Kinect sports with my cousins, and uncles. Since I was just a seven year old kid, I wasn’t even aware that u could run some of the best games to ever exist. Also, my family only had one TV and we didn’t have money to buy games. So as a result, I didn’t play u for years…
Fast forward 12 years later, I had forgotten all about u, but u never forgot about me. As I was walking by a store, I noticed that it had Xbox 360 titles. Moreover, the games only costed less than $10. The original gears trilogy, the first three original halo games, odst and reach. Heck I even picked up the fable series which I have never heard of and many other games like NBA 2k12, NBA 2k11, the original dead space, call of duty 4 modern warfare, Bayonetta, Assassin’s Creed 2 and Transformers FOC. Oh I forgot u can also run original Xbox titles. So I got u the original Ninja Gaiden, The Sims 2, Halo CE, and Halo 2. And even more so the avatar store along with the gamer pics and themes. Finally u were able to properly eat.
After such a long time, I finally got to spend quality time with u. Allowing me to experience the peak testosterone energy of the gears games and the forge of halo 3 and reach. U even gave me and my little sister new memories of beating the Halo CE and Halo 3 campaigns on legendary.
U and I were welcomed to this world together in the year 2005. Damn, u truly are the greatest console I will ever be with and will stay with me always and forever. “Never thought it would end like this huh, HUH Xbox 360!”😢😢😢

Something to note, you can still go into the Avatar store and seems like you can buy Avatar stuff still, but didn't try due to not having money.
To confirm, if you didnt get any of the free avatar store items before the shutdown, you still wont be able to download them through this.
