Nice, i love your videos and interactions with the people of the world and their language. Don't forget to keep your head on a swivel anywhere in the world crazy people are everywhere.
I think it’s more a 360 camera than a fish eye lens. This is so he can rotate and capture everything in post without physically moving his camera. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, but whenever it rotates, he’s not actually rotating it, it’s done in post.
@@heyaeric This is the reason. It's a 360 video he can edit down in post. So he never has to aim the camera, ever. It's smart. But it is pretty distorted sometimes.
@@heyaeric Oh, you are probably right. I thought myself that fisheye was probably the wrong characterization but I didn't quite know how to explain the various distortions. In some frames everything seems normal and then others, most shots really, the distortions are so off-putting that it is very difficult to watch. That said I would defer to you on the 360 degree camera. Although the 360 setting/lense may be great for picking up more of the scene in is likewise terrible at making the scene palatable to the viewer. After a Minute or so I couldn't watch it anymore because it was so off-putting. Cheers.

That rain made me think like an engineer. Imagine the system needed to safely run all that water off the concrete and down to the river. Just let one runoff break loose and undermine a foundation of one of those buildings and you may have a real ugly round of dominoes.
What a sweet fellow spending the day showing you everything. Imagine someone coming to the city you live, and you go out together and enjoy the scenery and night life.. that is friendship in it's simplest form. 😊
I do not personally like cities. I grew up in a city (if you can call it that) of less than 150,000 people. Big cities like the one in this video are too closed in and have way too many people for my comfort level, but I can definitely appreciate how unique and architecturally amazing it is. Thx for the tour Ari!
It's all a matter of perspective. To me anything over 150k people is a big city and at times too busy for my taste. I grew up in a town of under 30k inhabitants, which is a moderately sized town. Chongqing alone has three times the population of my country.

@@glanguish9390 that would make a lot of sense, as I was surprised about his random comment "I really wanted to join army but they ditched me because of tattoos", almost as if to say "China's army is so great we can afford being picky"
@@glanguish9390 mate it isn’t North Korea lol. You don’t get handlers to hang in china 😂 read a book

I am actually going first time to China and to Chongqing in 2 months, pretty excited:)) hopefully I will survive since I am going alone, I will try at least learn some basic chinese words though
Chinese is hard to learn. Good luck
@@angrypastabrewing yeh well, just some very very basic words though, like hello, thank you etc, after that my translator will do the rest, I got WeChat and AliPay already set up, so I should get by I hope
@@Lightdark1992 Ha! You will have fun, guaranteed! When I went and spent a year in China (Shanghai and Chengdu) all I had was a Lonely Planet Mandarin phrasebook; what an adventure that was! The important thing is to try and not get frustrated when your plans go boom, just relax, be friendly, and 95% of people you meet will be friendly back.
Don't eat the food in chilli oil 😂😂 "gutter oil"
google translate will go a longway incase the basic chinese not enough, I wish you a happy traveling in China!
I don’t know how you do it…being around that many people all the time drives me nuts. I was born in the LA basin, raised in Orlando, and have been to many other large cities all over when I was in the military. But after I got out, I resettled in the rural Midwest and have never regretted it. Peaceful didn’t even begin to describe it. Prices are so much cheaper, lines are much shorter (if they exist at all), and almost everyone knows everyone else. I could never go back to such a hectic lifestyle, but I’m glad that you’re finding happiness in it all. Keep up the great work! I don’t mind watching what I no longer have to experience, it just brings back memories. Many of them pleasant.
SFV & SGV is still NOT crowded. Same for OC. Wait till you visit NYC, or Hong Kong. I once waited 2 hours just to go 10-15 miles.
@@Vagabond_Etranger been to NYC once, even got the T-shirt, and I’ll never go back again. And I’m perfectly fine with that. Kudos to those that enjoy it, but I prefer simple peace at my age…and fishing…and hunting. Not a lot of that kinda stuff in huge metro areas.
In China, many people also enjoy living alone in quiet places. The country is vast, so if you want, you can find a mountain to live on, and no one will be able to find you. But you should choose a place near a small town; otherwise, it would be very inconvenient.
Ari thanks for showing us this it was amazing ❤
This was absolutely one of the best videos I have seen this year. Thank you for sharing.
That was a great video. Thank you.
This is my favorite video Xiaoma, you were amazing. You were in your environment, feeling the people, the weather, the pain of the long walks and spicy food in China. Great vlog for sure. Amazing job with the different dialects as well.
Man your camera makes me feel so dizzy 😂😂
It makes people go pretty wild in the comments too 😂 understandably
Ya not a fan of the fish eye or whatever lense it's called.
@@stevenwall3604 obviously you're not a fan either 😂
@@stevenwall3604 it is a 360 degree camera, very practical for this kind of purpose(public interaction), it does not really look like a 'camera' so people will not notice it and will act natural and not take offense
Really. I have always loved your channel and have always enjoyed your travels. But... the BIG BUT...I can't watch the new vids without turning my head away. That's not watching though, is it?
It's as bad as having a vertigo attack. No fun whatsoever. Hate not being able to do this. It is like what a person with epilepsy goes through being triggered by flashing lights, or going through a winter forest on a sunny day. Also, not a joke or fun to have happen. I hope you can find another option.❤
PS. Sorry, but had to edit due to glitches from small keyboard.
xiaoma you're looking great rn dude keep up the great work with the fitness 💪🏼💪🏼
I had no idea such a beautiful and intricate city existed. Absolutely jaw-dropping!
I’m in Vietnam Solo travelling for two more days and I ran out of data and the extra one gb Saved me five dollars while supporting you. Thank you so much. I’ve visited 11 countries this year and my favourite part is learning the language for basic phrases and to order food. Chongqing Is Beautiful, hopefully I can visit China next year.
Awesome. I used to live at 10 Bui Chu in Saigon (commies/outsiders call it HCMC) from 1969-1979.
This is a very cool video! makes me want to visit China
Better start learning Chinese now haha
no need, they’ll be visiting you soon 😂
What always amazes me with his China videos, is how welcoming the people are
Crazy how a city with way more people and building density is cleaner than any city in North America we are slobs
I thought the same thing!
There's something America has that China doesnt have that explains why America is so poor and dangerous compared to China. Hint: its not an object, its a type of human.
It's mostly larger democrat cities with so much filth, there are some very clean places outside of these dumps though

I just wanted to say I really enjoyed this video. I’ve been following you on and off for probably 5+ years. I’m thankful for you because I highly doubt I will ever be able to visit china. Thank you very much 🙏🏻

what a great video, and what a great guy so chill and taking care of you ! Damn man hes just too cool
I actually got lost in some random building in Chongqing just to get down to the real ground floor!!
This place is what Cyberpunk 2077 looks like.
I LOVE your videos from China, its so incredible to see you in "action" and it also inspires me to keep learning Chinese, thanks a lot!

His feet hurt.
@@netoeli I understand why he cursed now.

loving the content recently. Your best in my opinion so far!
I definitely needed to see this video. For a long time, I've wanted to go to China since I've been learning Chinese for the past 2 years but I've been nervous to go because of all the things you see about it on the news. Like Taiwan tensions, political division, Hong Kong controversies, etc.
But, this just shows me that, despite all the issues China is facing (what country ISN'T facing issues, right?) the individual communities are what make the country and experiences.
西方媒体对中国并不友好,很多时候都是在故意抹黑中国,所以即使在网络发达的时代,很多人也并不了解美丽而安全的中国。
Probably my favourite video from you. Some boy Xiaoma 🤝
This is my favorite video ever.
Wow, that is one crazy city! Must have been incredible to visit and see in person.
My trip to chongqing was one of the best experiences of my life, highly recommended
Nice, i love your videos and interactions with the people of the world and their language. Don't forget to keep your head on a swivel anywhere in the world crazy people are everywhere.
Fun to watch but that fisheye lense has GOT TO GO. It is so annoying..
It ruins the video.
Yes fully agree it distorts the real beauty of many scenes.
Cheers.
What an amazing looking city. Great video.
I am SO SO happy you made a video on Chongqing! It’s one of my dream cities to visit and i’m so hyper fixed with the wonders of it! You’re also one of my favorite travel content creators! This video was amazing and it makes me want to visit it even more. ^^
I'm getting Vertigo just watching the first 2 minutes!
super cool, thanks for walking all that way to show us such an impressive city! So glad i discovered this channel and your language learning!
That rain made me think like an engineer. Imagine the system needed to safely run all that water off the concrete and down to the river. Just let one runoff break loose and undermine a foundation of one of those buildings and you may have a real ugly round of dominoes.
You're correct... Search for 'tofu buildings' and you'll see😂😂
@xiaomanyc you got fit, man! I've missed a lot of videos -- you look great bud! Adding Chongqing to the list!

How's this city not in many movies or series it feels like a disservice and could boost tourism like crazy

Please throw that fish eye lens in the garbage.
Yeah ...
It's a GoPro MAX i believe. it's the GoPro Player that does that and not the lens itself, he can make it normal if he wanted to.
A great episode. Thank you!
It would be cool if those videos were posted as 360º videos. That would be more interesting rather than having the whole image flattened out.
IMO he should post both the unedited 360 version and then the regular version too. It would be fun to watch in VR 360
