Drives me crazy when people neglect their machines. Makes me certainly want a new machine now, can’t imagine the cost for an engine rebuild. The $1,000 or two you save on an old machine isn’t worth the risk. Thanks for this. Been wrenching on cars and motorcycles for years, these scooters remind me of outboard motors with everything really packed into a small area. 🙏
I feel exactly the same. I can’t imagine spending 5 or 6 k on a new machine and then completely neglect the maintenance. It’s criminal. This also makes me want to buy new rather than used. If I can’t take a machine and get it thoroughly inspected by a Vespa mechanic before I but it, then I’m not buying a used one. I also wouldn’t feel safe riding a used machine that hasn’t been inspected by a mechanic. There are too many things that can go wrong when you are out riding. I don’t need some machine seizing up and throwing me off a bike. Better safe than sorry.

What a shame to see an otherwise terrific little motor fail due to simple neglect. Scoot looked to be in good shape. It’s gonna be a keeper when he’s through with it.
I think that they can do 60.000mil or more. Here in Greece, Piaggio scooters are very porular. We have a lot of them with, especially the liquid cooled models that have more than 100.000miles. The key is to change the oil yearly or every 3.000mil and coolant (G12 type only) every 2 or 3 years.
It is a pain to watch such a fine machine ruined and neglected. My LXv125 with Leader engine has not been running for 5 yeas by now. I think I would start with squirting a syringe of oil into the spark plug port, apart from changing fluids, to make it run again, right?

This makes the P200 design look like it was designed in Mediaeval times 😂 Night and day difference. Looking forward to next week Robot.

Ειδικά στην επαρχία τα πράγματα είναι πολύ χειρότερα.

Great video! Was wondering if you have any videos of work on 2009 Piaggio BV250's?
"Rest in peace, common sense"....check your oil!
Looking forward, to the next video Robot.

S.i.P for Vespa gts 250 Can you share a speedometer assembly video? I can't find any videos specifically about rpm connection.
hi vespa robot could you please advise the cost for the service overhaul like this ?
Primavera has been around for what, 11 years now? Just wondering will they design a new model or is this going to be the last small petrol vespa?
If these are looked after properly how many miles would you expect these aircooled 3v motors to last ?

You could use mirror to film underneath easily
Might as well upgrade the displacement and muffler since it has to be rebuilt.

The engine is so different from the 2 stroke vespa. Everything is so much bigger and heavier, but the cylinder and piston are tiny.
Wrong oil as well? Cheap service garages often use the cheapest oil.
