  • THE END OF THE EXPENSIVE PRO-V1!? VICE PRO PLUS vs TITLEIST PRO-V1! Which golf ball should you use? what golf ball should you buy? should you use expensive titleist pro-v1 golf balls? budget Costco Kirkland signature golf balls? or maybe even the online phenomenon which is Vice golf balls, in this video I compare the Vice Pro Plus with the Titleist Pro V1. We all know that the Titleist Pro-V1 and Titleist Pro-V1x have been the benchmark for golf balls for a very long time, we have had Taylormade TP5 and Taylormade TP5x looking like knock them off the top as the best golf ball you can buy, Callaway Chromesoft and Callaway Chromesoft X have been a fan favourite for a number of years now also... but what about VICE Golf balls? we know they are cheap golf balls, excellent value golf balls, and good golf balls, but are they the new best? lets find out... and lets do it now!

Thanks for the review James. I use Vice and I love them. At first I was a little sceptical, but having bought them and used them consistently over the summer I'm in love. I like supporting the brand and the quality is great. They work well for me, and free personalisation (offers come a couple of times a year) is brilliant. Please get these out on the course for a "real life" review.

Hey James, great channel, love your enthusiasm for the game! I've heard from a bunch of your fellow RUclipsrs that one of the main selling points (and strong points) of the Pro V1 is the consistency in the manufacturing process. Each ball is high quality, ie good quality control. Some other manufacturers' balls, not so much. So that may be why Titleist has been the gold standard for a while now. You know you're getting a great ball every time. Keep those reviews and comparisons coming!

Great review James. I used Pro V1x for years and was off scratch for many years. I am not a long hitter at all but my short game was always very good - even if I say so myself. Changed to Vice after having an enforced break from golf due to injury - because of cost of losing balls from wayward shots being more likely. I just cannot get them to "drop and stop" on the green like you can with a ProV1x. They will spin for sure and putting there is no difference. But for Wedges or pitching into greens, I just cannot get the performance. So I agree you get what you pay for. I would say for a mid to high handicapper Vice is a great choice. Below that if you spin the ball into greens - ProV1 or ProV1x is very hard to better.

I didn't mind the 5 yards I lost on good hits too much, it was the balls that were slightly mishit that in my opinion were losing a good 10 to 20 yards more than I was losing on mishits compared to Snell and TP5 golf balls.

I’ve played both the Snell MTB-X and MTB-Black. The “X” sounds and feels really hard but really flies. Probably 5-7 yards farther than any other ball, including the ProV1 I’ve hit. The “Black” is softer and flies comparable to the ProV1. The big thing I noticed is both Snell balls don’t “ballon” when you hit them. They have great penetrating flight. $32.99 (US) per dozen.

After your review last week, I bought a dozed TM Soft Response. First round with them was Sunday; LONG and straight, but the cover did not hold up well. One tree, one cart path, a couple wedges; 3 balls to get through one round. Going to play a round today with Titleist Velocity. Still searching but E12 is still the winner so far.

All premium balls go long and straight and stop quick when struck well, but I notice some balls have more grab on chips near the green. Ive found the srixon xv to absolutely zip around the greens, noticably more than any other ball for me. No difference anywhere else but pulls up like it has disc brakes on chips.

I use OnCore balls. Changed to them just this year after they offered me a free sleeve and I hit them better than any other ball I've ever gamed. I'd be interested to see you hit them in comparison to the Pro-V1s.

I play with the Snell MTB X golf balls you tested the MTB X black golf balls swear I get an extra 20 yards using these balls and they are great round and on the greens

Used the Vice. They do what they say however they scuff and cut very easily.

I play the Vice Pro Soft and my wife plays the Vice Tour. I do like the balls slot.

Bought a dozen a few weeks ago , ok for 6 six holes then it looked tired , strange to putt with !
Take them on the greens at your local place & see what you think , do you think they will be around in 5years time ??
    Good show 👍👍

I will be switching to the Vice pro plus. I tested it between the pro V1. I did on course testing. Couldn’t tell a difference in any performance. I like the putting line. For the price and performance. I can beat it.

A few of my mates have been gaming Vice for a few years and have no intention of changing. Perhaps it’s for the spin around firm Links greens 🤷‍♂️

Been looking at these and Snell golfballs. Probably play some next season, snows about to fly here and I have enough golfballs to lose yet this year. haha

Pro V1 has had it’s spin reduced while pro V1X is now the more spiny ball. TXG science.

I hunt for lost balls in a forest that borders a golf course. I have played most premium balls. I’m 53
years old with a moderate swing speed. The best balls I’ve played are the Srixon Q-star tours.

Am using the Bridgestone tour B X golf balls as I use to use the pro v1x but I think there very expensive for what they are considering the Bridgestone golf balls are the same quality and game play

Really good cheap ball for the 10+ handicap is the Srixon Distance, ridiculously cheap, fly well and nice click on and around the greens
