I didn't know about using the knob under the seat to prevent leak-down during transport, but then again I've never hauled my tractor on a trailer since it was delivered. I was told it was to adjust the pressure needed to lower so that a heavy implement wouldn't slam down fast, and then it could be adjusted to a different point so a lighter implement wouldn't be stuck up in the air and it would lower (knob set so lower weight lowers it).
Agree 100% on the 3rd function. I bought a tractor 18 months ago and had them put on a 3rd function kit even though I had no implements that used one at the time. 10 months later I found a good deal on a 84" snow plow with hydraulic angle adjust. I'm sure glad I had the angle 3rd function, or I would be in and out of the cab changing the angle in -20 wind chills.
You are spot on with the backhoe. You can rent a backhoe many many times for the price of a tractor attached backhoe. Plus, you do not have to worry about breaking it. Just buy the insurance. Great video. Thank you Hank. Stay safe. 😊
Hank, excellent video. And remember, manufacturers; car, truck, tractor, motorcycle, don’t make oil or filters. They contract with filter manufacturers to brand a filter for them. Many air filters (most) are Donaldson. Often an oil blender will pay a manufacturer for their trademark name, STIHL. Jest sayin 😊
I know you said on an earlier video that you don't use your draft control, so I wouldn't have expected you to mention this, but bumping your draft control, or having it set incorrectly will also prevent your 3 pt. lift arms from going down as well.
Maybe. On our old Kubota, it can turn off the flow. The knob on ours is a flow control that, like mentioned, controls how fast the 3pt will both lift and lower.
Keep the blast from your pressure washer away from oil seals. You don't want to repair your axles, transmission, or hydraulic system because you injected water (or soapy water) into your systems. I bought a used tractor which had been a rental, so some unknown customer or yard worker had done this years before. It was a mess.
I think when they say there lift arms wont go down is because its a new tractor and its not worked in enough and it need weight on them to make them go down Ive seen this a million times

That knob for the three point hitch lift controls how fast the arms go down only
Yep
