plsss do a video where you change the things you said you'd change, etc. I really enjoyed this video and seeing the changes you've had since last year, it would be a cool video.
Thank you so much for showing us the struggles and this beautiful piece! For me it's so much more inspiring than seeing a flawless picture coming to life for the first try, because that makes me feel like I may never be at that level. Now I want to draw!
The finished piece is amazing! I love how you kept working on the piece and even restarting the hair when you weren’t happy with it 🫶 Maybe her name could be Calypso or Astraea? Idk I just really like Greek mythology and she looks like she’d be a fierce warrior. :)
If you ever do a draw over I can totally see how a slight tilt upwards and her eyes looking front would make the whole thing look cooler and menacing, but in a very chick and VOGUE-esque way. Obviously it’s already pretty rad as is. But would love another speed paint if you ever did a new one :D 🎨✨
I really enjoyed this critique and reflection! It'd be cool to see more like this with your pieces specifically. The portfolio reviews and art critiques from viewers are nice, but this type of video gives an insight into your thought process and knowledge. :) For me, it's the arms that I think needed some life in them. They just kind of stick down like a stick figure and don't translate an emotion, like surprise or defensiveness or pride, or an action, like what she's doing with the spear or swimming or movement at all. If she's a warrior, then her reflexes aren't honed well if she just sticks her arms out when she's taken by surprise or someone gets into her space/territory.
Not to be dramatic but i think i'd die if i didn't have your videos, im currently facing art block in the middle of a big project and your content is really helping me, thank you for your amazing videos
I think her name is Eddy because she IS that ethereal force that bees use to fly with those wings & the vortex we form when we scull in the water. Fluid Dynamics are our friend, there to propel us wherever.
This just goes to show that when it comes to art or any other skill, there will be good days and bad days, even for artists that have been doing this for years. I have had those days where I'm confident in my art, and other days where I feel like I can’t draw to save my life! If you're an artist just starting out, dont loose hope!
Hello Jackie greeting from Scotland. I have just found your channel and naturally Im binging like a mad man here!!! Thank you so much your tips are super elpful. Can I just ask you about what you you said "so I found this palette and when I flip in "CMYK it stil looks good". Can I ask do you have a quick tip/trick for this or do you just go up to image -mode and change the drawing from RGB to CMYK and then reverse it back. Or do you have a way of working on the drawing in CMYK while it simultaniously appears in CMYK to the left of the screen in tthe smaller window? The rreason I ask is that I am just about to create my first childrens book and I really want to use bright alsmost Risograph style palettes that I know may look duller yuky and gross in the final printing if I dont keep an eye on it!) Thanks so much Jackie now let me keep on binging here!!!!! ;o) ps I realise watching back now you are using an IPad is there a way of doing this in photshop? Thanks again Seán ;o)
Im pretty proud of your piece as well! Although I’m not at your level of AWESOME it’s humbling to see that regardless of what level of skill we’re at we all struggle with artistic decisions. Love you videos!!!
I really really like this and I could never do something this amazing but the body position looks off to me. The shoulders chest and hip positioning just seems off.
Check out a longer 1 hour speedpaint of the making of this mermaid on my Patreon! www.patreon.com/Jackiedroujko
Darkening her eyes was the move for sure!

If a starfish is latched onto something that means the starfish is digesting it. Just some info to have fun with.😁
thank you (not) for reminding me about this
NOOOOOOOOOOOO
Congrats Jackie! That’s a great gig and honor!

How about Maristela? It’s a Latin name that means star of the sea.
That one’s so pretty!!
@@ziggyvoid Thank you, but I just realized I spelt it wrong lol.
7 hours is a long time for a drawing? 👁👄👁
Welcome to the world of artists
loved hearing the retrospective critique on this piece, really shows that there’s room for growth at every level
now I feel less bad when I look at my art and be like “why am I struggling so much :(“ lol
The liquify tool is the artists messiah that completely improved to how it felt it should look
The finished piece is amazing! I love how you kept working on the piece and even restarting the hair when you weren’t happy with it 🫶

the grainy transparent details you layered on top of her hair and fin were my favorite

Do one have to have a website portfolio or there can be other platforms to show my portfolio (that would be professional and legit)?
