    **Important Note**
I really enjoy watches and that's why I started this channel so I could review them regularly but my satisfaction is not found in owning or experiencing watches, no matter how many I may accumulate or how luxurious and expensive they may be . . .
Wise King Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 5:10 "He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity."
The truth is, material possessions of any kind, money, power, etc. never can and never will satisfy our hungering souls. Only knowing, loving, and serving God can truly satisfy.
The only way we can have a real relationship with God, the Creator of the Universe, is through the Lord Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God.
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6
Through Christ's sacrificial death on the cross, for my sins and your sins, and His resurrection from the dead we can have peace with God (Romans 5:1), forgiveness of sins (Acts 10:43), eternal life (John 3:16), and so much more!
In Christ, we can know true joy now and for all eternity.
"He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." - 1 John 5:12

I have a soft spot for Timex as it was my first watch, my dad gave me a mechanical Timex on a Speidel bracelet when I was 10. That got me into watches! This watch you reviewed looks good, is the right size, but it is overpriced, especially with a cheap Chinese movement. The short hands don't bother me. A better alternative would be a Vaer, very well made and an honest, American company run by two nice guys. I have a Timex Expedition Scout quartz, cost $35 and has been a great watch. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Josh. Great review my friend. In my opinion for $250 I like to see a Japanese movement and better lume. I'm also in agreement about the hands, like to see them a bit longer.
Timex seems to be putting out some overall nice watches just a bit short of what would be otherwise great pieces. Thank you again and have a wonderful weekend.

I just purchased this watch I have a number of field watches. I was able to buy this at Jomashop for $99. Anytime I can buy a watch at that price point with 100 meters WR and a Saphire Crystal I will do it. I also. Have a 36 mm Bulova automatic A1 style military watch but that was $299. I also have an Islander 42 mm automatic field watch for $139 with screw down crown, Saphire crystal, 100 meters water resistance. This one has excellent lume and no writing on the dial as was appropriate for WW2 field watches . I think my favorite is the Islander watch followed by the Timex and finally the Bulova.

Handset doesn’t bother me too much with the exception of the seconds hand, it is noticeably stubby. The movement disappoints me, I would have figured it to be a miyota auto like other Timex autos, and this factor makes the price point of north of 200 a little steep. I agree, around $150 perhaps $175 would be a better price for this one. Great video as always m8, God bless and happy new year!

Great review, I agree about the hands look a bit too short. I personally think Timex got it right with the 36mm Mk1 mechanical, it's a really nice field watch. My mk1 has the same Chinese movement which keeps good time at +10 seconds a day.

As far as alternative, I would easily pay much less for the Timex expedition scout (which I have) which has the exact same dial, and a better seconds hand that is accent coloured as well as proper length. Literally the same dial, for 200 less just a quartz movement. And the one I have hits all the markers…..for an auto, the Seiko SNZG13 is a great auto, but it’s 42 mm so might be too large for some as a field

You’re getting a lot of watch for 229. Any other watch that comes from a big brand-name that is comparable to this watch would cost way more such as the Hamilton. you’re getting a mechanical watch with sapphire crystal for 229 that’s pretty damn good.

The a Khaki mechanical has similar dimensions with the hands in comparison with this one. While $200+ might be a bit high, for the value you are getting the price is fair.

I recently bought one in the UK for under £100, and at that price they're worth the money but I certainly wouldn't pay RRP (£209). Time keeping isn't great (mine gained a minute in 3 days) and you have to be careful setting the time as the minute hand is likely to jump. The solar version is a better watch and only costs £145, but for me is slightly too big at 41mm.

I'd save up and buy something that lasts, and whose internal parts I know more about. No Chinese movement. I'd much prefer to spend more money on something I cherish for a lifetime than spend less on something that I'm meh about in a few days. Saving up for a Hamilton.

I'd like to support an American watch company but Timex seems to fall short. Whether it be the price, the lack of quality materials, lack of water resistance, or the use of Chinese movements...Timex misses the mark.
Don't misunderstand; for the price, features, build quality and technical specifications, the Timex Iron Man is the best in athletic/tool watches. I've owned several, and will always recommend it.✌🏽👍🏽

Is too expensive for having a Chinese movement. Hands should be longer.
For around $200, there is an Islander Field watch with a Seiko automatic movement. For under $300, Seiko themselves have the new 5 Field watch.
For about $100 more Grey market, you can get the Hamilton khaki Mechanical.

Yeah the loom isn't good on any Timex. They need to start using the good stuff!! At this price point that should be a given.. I have this watch in the white dial. I really love the size of it and that it's a sapphire crystal. The hands are a bit too short. I would prefer straight loomed hands a couple mm longer. The crown IS really hard to pull out. It's also a bit fast-about 15-20s/day I think. Too much IMO.

@@TheTownWatchI’ve regulated mine down to +6-7sec/day and .2 beat error… keeps good time. I think it’s a Chinese seagull movement. It’s not great to regulate either.. both adjustments move so to get the rate right you have to also stabilize the beat adjustment arm and vise versa.. a real pain.. if Hamilton would make their kakai with a flat sapphire I would definitely buy that!. Also, if Timex would put a better movement and hands in this watch, like a seiko movement I would buy that as well..
