Hi. First of all, make sure you are familiar with the basics: vocabulary, basic math operations, reading ability, etc. Here are some general tips: 1) Read a lot before the exam in order to improve your reading comprehension ability. Read books, articles, and every piece of written material. 2) Use flashcards for memorizing difficult words - this can boost your vocabulary significantly. 3) Make sure you rule the basics in math. For example, familiarize yourself with the order of operations (PEMDAS), and make sure you know how to convert between fractions, decimals, and percentages. The next step would be to practice sample questions and simulations of the real SSAT. You can find a free SSAT sample test + complete simulations of the real SSAT on this link: www.testprep-online.com/ssat-upper-level. Wishing you lots of luck on your upcoming exam!

Hi Andy. The verbal section of the SSAT is indeed challenging. The most challenging element in it is the vocabulary, as you are expected to be familiar with many difficult words you do not usually encounter in your daily life. We recommend making lists of words and working with flashcards to make the learning easier. In addition, reading books can also help you a lot. Good luck on your test!
Hello, thank you very much for your explanation, but my question is, as an international student who is not familiar with difficult words, how can I participate in this exam?? Is there any source or book that can help me about the vocabulary of the SSAT exam?thank you🙏🏻
Try to read as much as you can: books, articles, and so on. We also recommend using flashcards for memorization: write down a difficult word you need to remember on one side of the card and its definition on the other side. Then you can test yourself whether you remember the definition of this word - it really helps! Finally, you can practice your vocabulary with our practice pack as it contains 60 synonyms questions: www.testprep-online.com/ssat-upper-level Wishing you the best of luck!
The most important thing is to master the basic math concepts first. Specifically, PEMDAS (order of operations), place value, understanding what an equation is, and basic rules and concepts in geometry (for example, how to calculate the area and perimeter of various shapes). We advise you to make a list of the basic topics you are less good at and then tackle each of them one by one. Only then it is recommended that you move on and practice real SSAT math sample questions. Good luck!
