    It doesn't take too long to categorize all the SAT questions. So just prioritizing the "easy points" type of questions will boost the score heavily. Also, most Admissions Offices are prioritizing SAT scores less and less so having a good score is more like a bonus feature to an application instead of some sort of requirement

    For all of you stressing about the SAT here is a quick guide for most of the sections. This mainly applies to individuals already scoring above 1400, but can probably be of help to anyone.
    For the history reading section read a lot of passages relating to women's rights, voting rights, and slavery. For the other sections try to read about current events that are important. For the science section you only need to know how to parse information, but knowing general knowledge about a broad range of topics is beneficial.
    For the grammar section learn grammar rules until you can get above a 340/400 for this section. This should only take a couple hours. To try to work your way up to a 400/400 for the section focus on reading badly translated works, or go on a webpage in another language, translate it to English, and read through it while trying to fix all the errors in your head. This should drastically increase your intuition towards grammar and will increase speed. Try to be able to figure out which of the answer choices is correct solely based on how it sounds in your head, and only use the grammar rules when you are unsure. This can be done with literally any reading you do. Go and copy any articles or books you need to read and then translate them.
    For math the exam is absurdly easy. I would probably recommend just reviewing a bit of high school math. Also try to focus on not making mistakes, as there is ample time on the math section, and most people I know mess up on the math section due to some minor errors they made out of carelessness.
    Overall, try to get the foundational knowledge, but anything above a 1560 does require a slight amount of luck. Anything above a 1580 is pretty much luck so don't try to retake your exams once you get to this point (unless you just want to get that perfect score for fun).
    These strategies are extremely effective. Of course take 1-2 practice tests before the exam to get used to questions. I personally got a 1580 in around 12 hours of studying and many of my friends have gotten above 1550 within 40-50 hours of studying.
    If you have any questions just reply to this comment and I will respond to as many people as I can.

    As I understand it, the new digital SAT is a "smart" test. You take the first part and the difficulty level of the questions in the second part are determined by how you did in the first part. Spring is the first time this new SAT is offered and as "luck" would have it, my daughter, who is a junior this year, will have to take it. Any idea if prepping like you discuss in the video would be the same for the digital test? One would think that the questions would be the same types of questions?

    The category of the SAT quotient score is less than 3 points of view in three different sectors, to get a perfect score, you normally have to study questions of the study. In eight hours, study three different sectors to get a perfect score. Of note, how one is able to be in the presnet reality of studying either hours or different social settings.

    • @typeshit0
      @typeshit0 Год назад +3

      Yo trust me when I say this bc I have hella experience binge studying. I studied only for like the week before I had the SAT but my best tips are these: For reading literally just look at the questions first and answer all the easiest ones which you can do without even looking at the passage- and my best advice for the longer question is rush them- as in, when ppl tell u to “take it slow, you have time,” do the opposite. Also, in writing, take ur time rather than taking ur time in reading. Now for Math, take ur time as long as u can is my strategy and leave questions which u may not be sure abt and come back to them when u finish all the easy ones (you will have time bc u finished all the easy ones rlly fast) good luck bro!

    • @ashtonherndon
      @ashtonherndon  Год назад +16

      No worries! My first SAT I got a 990 so there is definitely hope for you! I found that with reading, I would only skim the sections after I read the questions and took it from there to save me a lot of time. Reading the first and last sentence of each paragraph saves time and gives a general understating of each section without wasting a ton of time reading it in dept. Hopefully, this helps!

    I have sat in March. I took it once in 10th grade and I bombed it with a 1230. I want a 1500. It’s a big gap. But I will work very hard so that I can ace March test. And if I don’t I still have few more chances after that. Anyways I’m supposed to start doing practice tests. I haven’t done full tests. I’m so behind. I better get started. I’ll start tomorrow. Even though I have alot of school work. But I just have to do it! And whoever reading my yapping can do it too! 1600!

    Serious question.
    Has the SAT been using the same algorithm for asking questions or are the questions significantly different each year? Like if I were to hypothetically say I took a test in 2017 vs 2022/23 would the questions be similar ?
    I’m a 2020 graduate, and have taken the SAT in 19’. I fear that with the math and reading prep book questions I use to study won’t cover everything that could possibly be thrown at me on the test.
    Would you still suggest the book linked in your description?

    Hi there, I have my SAT coming up next month (December 3rd) and currently have 1400 as my target score (after taking the test earlier this month with a score of 1290 English-600, Maths-690)
    My challenge has been the Reading Section
    I honestly haven't studied that much for the Reading Section but seem to be a bit confident about it
    What advice do you have for me.....considering how little time I have left
    And what are my chances of hitting my target this time (1400)

    • @sweatytofu7144
      @sweatytofu7144 Год назад +4

      since math is your strong suit just like me, just try to go for max math. Then reading comp is hard to improve on in a short amount of time, so improve grammar. Reading comp has the better curve anyways, so errors on writing section are worth more. Skip reading comp, practice grammar and math. Try to get under 5 errors for grammar and math each, and as long as you get like under 15 wrong for reading comprehension, 1400 is secured no matter curve.

    • @sumeyyedincer9292
      @sumeyyedincer9292 Год назад +1

      I have a strategy of answering less but more correct questions and I will apply that to the decembers test. I got half of the reading questions wrong last month, but this time I will concentrate on reading slowly and understanding the passages to answer more questions correctly, instead of trying to answer all the questions.
      So I migh skip the history passage, which is the hardest for me and which takes too time to digest

    • @ashtonherndon
      @ashtonherndon  Год назад +7

      They always have specific questions within the reading such as vocabulary questions, direct line questions (line 47, etc.), and analysis questions. What helped me was to do them in that order so I can guarantee points with the easy ones and hold off on the harder ones if need be. I also always started with the narrative/fiction stories and went onto the social science and natural science stories just because I comprehended the narratives better. I would find which passage you understand the best and start with those!

      I did each section in order every day so I had an even understanding of every topic. Once I started to perfect certain sections I would zero in on the other parts that I still needed to improve. Definitely don't do it off of what you feel like though because it may hurt your other sections!
