- I made a wooden PC case with popsicle sticks(craft sticks) and square dowels! I tried to make something with Japanese Kumiko style and it came out better than I expected so I started RUclips. What should I do next? I hope you enjoyed my first video. Thank you!
Main Materials I bought (Prices stated are just approx value)
At Lowe's
- 5/8 Poplar Square Dowels $2.70/each
- 3/8 Poplar Square Dowels $1.60/each
---- Not Sure How many I bought... but I guess 6 or 7 of 5/8 and 10 to 15 of 3/8.
As the Home Depot
- Poplar Board 1/4 x 8 x 2ft less than $10
- Lauan plywood 5mm x 2ft x 4ft less than $10
At Amazon
- Poly Sheet x 1 about 12 x 18 $10
- Cast Dust Computer Filter 30cm x 1m $10
- Power Switch $10
- USB3 thing $10
- Female Standoff $10
- Small Magnets $7
- Craft Sticks $10
At Michaels
- Basswood board 1/4 x 3 x 24 $4
- Basswood strips $0.70 on sale
- Big Craft Sticks $5
At Hobby Lobby
- Small saw and handle $14
On my hand
- screws, stains, glue, and all others
You know, nothing is expensive by itself but all combined, you can actually buy NZXT or Fractal Design...

* I call what I make as Kumiko for its style/technique but I know those real ones from master Shokunin in Japan are on another level. With respect to them, I just tried it.

I want to make 2 computer cases for give away once I get 5k subs. In the mean time, I’ll practice woodworking so I can deserve to make something for give away. It’ll be a long journey so the thing is, if I can continue the channel until it happens…. please help me! Thank you😎
DO NOT worry about RUclips likes and/or subscribes.
You have done brilliant work (can't think of a better word).
Thank you for sharing it.
@@codybroken Oh here, too:) Thank you for your advice and compliment. Somehow I do and somehow I don't, haha!
@@YRTi You kayak in beautiful everglades
You admire clouds in the blue sky
You cook healthy and no doubt delicious food
You built a unique and I think stunning pc case
Thanks for sharing
@@codybroken You are so nice but it seems like you overrated me! I just enjoy the things around me😎 haha, Thank you for the comments👍
This is honestly so much more inspiring than those “DIY” when the person have a whole carpenter setup in their garage! Amazing job.
Thank you! I watch those DIY videos to learn stuff and do it with what I have and I'm a cheapo;)
Some videos are really DIT, "do it themself", 'cause I know in advance that those kinds of projects are beyond my own capabilities / resources / constraints.
Easily the best looking PC case I've ever seen
Thanks! I started woodworking after this project so I can make another case to top it one day!
Your modest equipment makes this build even more impressive. You have a good eye for design and this is very nicely and thoughtfully done.
Thank you! I thought I had enough tools and didn't realize I actually had only basic tools until people told me in this comment section, haha. Mighty ignorance made me complete the project rather than excusing about the lack of tools;)
Naaa, we don't want to watch clouds moving, we simply want much more of this, awesome ingenuity. Keep the building/crafting going😎
Thanks for the time, man.
Thank you!
By now, I realized shooting clouds and uploading them everyday is more tough so I guess I will do crafts.
@@YRTi You're welcome, man!
Any sarcasm aside, nature is beautiful and we all need more of it, indeed.
DIY circular saw sled is brilliant.
The whole thing is brilliant.
That’s convenient for none skilled people like me! Thank you for the kind comment😎
Great work on the computer case :) Thank you for sharing the video with us!💖👍😎JP
Thank you for the kind comment! I also enjoy making videos:)
@@YRTi Your very welcome Friend! Have a wonderful Sunday😎
Beautiful case, well narrated and truly inspirational video, sir. I salute you!
I’m glad that you liked it. Thank you.
The spirit of DIY is using what you can and being resourceful! Well done 👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you! I don't know if I'm resourceful but I will use this case until it breaks!
Looks awesome! Great work showing what's possible with "basic" tools and patience! Hope you do another build soon !
Thank you for your comment. I hope to have another opportunity.
That’s really cool! Very inspirational and an achievable project. I like that you didn’t shy away from showing your errors, things happen while making!
Thank you! The things always happen and I just have too many of them to hide, haha.
This case is beautiful, great work. Love the Japanese aesthetic.
Thank you! I like Japanese aesthetic, too and I've been into woodworking after this project!
Brilliant. That is one of the nicest DIY cases I have seen. Nice work.
I'm trying to learn more to make an even nicer case in the future, hopefully.
Love the design you did a great job, and the fact that you did it all by hand with veryyy limited tools is impressive , great job
Thank you for the kind words! Haha, the truth is, as I didn't know much about tools, I didn't even notice the limitation when I was working on it.
Great job!!! Looks amazing, you did really well.
Thank you for your kind words! My motivation for the next video went up!
I agree very beautiful case, and very well made.
Glad that you liked it! I do my best for everything!
I recently discovered your channel and subscribed when I saw you were using basic life skills and trade skills to make practical, useful and informative content. I like your idea of using your videos to discover and develop skills as you help others in the process. I'm looking forward to watching you on your RUclips journey.
Thank you for the comment! I feel kind of embarrassed of watching this video since it's been 2 years but hopefully, it will tell people that everyone can start woodworking with tools they have:) Again, I'm glad that you liked my contents.
great looking case and thanks for showing what can be achieved
Thank you for kind words. I still need to improve my skill a lot to achieve the case I really want to make!
Job well done. A elegant case.👍
Thank you:)
Ten out ten. Super resourceful.
Keep up the good work.
Thank you! Ten out of ten, can't be happier:)
Beautiful case, one of the best cases I have ever seen, great job! 👍
Thank you. This is one of the very first project and I'm still learning!
@@YRTi Can you give me a pdf link for measures in millimeters and design details
I like your design its beautiful and stylish just add some glass and RGB lights it will be Great
I'm glad that you liked the design but sorry, I don't have the design data. I had a piece of paper that I stated cut out length of each pieces along with rough design sketch but I threw it away...
@@YRTi thanks anyway it's okay
But I appreciate your skills and beautiful idea of designing something outside the box with creativity and beautiful finish so thanks again
Good job man, love that PC case it looks great 👍🏼
Thank you! It was a fun project and now I'm into woodworking!
Masterpiece. Standing ovation.
Thank you. I'll do my best for the future projects, too!
It look like a Mini Asian home, I love how it looks! Also great tutorial! Keep- making videos like these please.
Thank you and no worries, I will do woodcraft/woodworking for the time being!
So creative and looks so good! Keep it up!
Thank you! My hobby is now woodworking/wood craft after this first build:)
This is really a piece of art! Resembles the looks of a pre-transistor radio! Beautiful! I came here 'cause I just finished the structural part of a wood case for an old PC, too, and I'm searching ideas for finishing it. My approach was completely diverse, 'cause I was looking just for a functional way of fitting the PC under my shop's table, ocuppying so little space as possible. I was in doubt if I would paint it with a can of spray paint (orange, just like an airplane's flight recorder) or if I woild taint the wood. Because of your project I will save myself from the orange monster. I'll somewhat recycle your idea of the framed dust filter. But mine is so ugly that I'm ashamed just of talking about it. ;-)
Thank you for the kind words! I'm not making things to sell or anything so I pretty much enjoyed the processes of making it including the difficult moments I didn't even know how/if I can achieve what I wanted to make. Long story short, I believe if you enjoy/learn things from a project, it's already the successful project! Hope you can finish the project soon and be happy with it!!
great build, looks awesome
Thank you!
Nice idea! I love it.
I have been wanting to make a PC case, so this was very helpful.
By the way, I watched it with Japanese subtitles and laughed when I saw some unusual expressions.(公開してマッシュ)
I'm looking forward to more videos!
Thank you for the comment! I'm glad that you find it helpful. I enjoy my Japanese subtitles, too:)
Fantastic work!
Thank you for the first comment and compliment! I'll try my best for the 2nd comment.
this looks soooo cool!
Thank you! I hope I can make ver.2 sometime soon:)
That Is a very amazing case and well done video thumbs up for me keep up the great work
Thank you! I'm learning more skill to make a better one someday day;)
Incredible build!
Thank you!
I really love the design. It is to inspiring makes me wanna go build one myself.
I'm glad to hear that! It's fun to try and as matter of fact, this build made me into woodworking so yeah, why not!
Very stylish wooden case ! Nice work , dude ! 😎👍
Thank you! Hopefully, I can make new one soon!
Cool project!
Thank you! This is where I started video & woodworking!
Awesome work man...keep it up
Thank you!
This would be a great media pc for 70s hifi systems. Nice job :3
Thank you! It's interesting how people see it differently and that gives me more idea for future projects.
This is a sweet case man.
Thank you!
this is awesome :D and i love that you made it out of cheap wood
Thank you! I knew better than wasting fancy wood at this skill level:) Now, I'm getting better a little bit!
Very nicely done, I would love to see the complete case creation video as what you did is commendable. keep up the good work soon you will get more subs. best of luck.
Thank you for the kind comment! I hope to have more friends.
Awesome work!
Thank you!
Great case we'll done.
Thank you
Awesome job!
Thanks!
subscribed! this was inspiring, much love
Oh It's great! Thank you so much!
@@YRTi you are welcome 😁🙏
Looks good man
Thank you for the comment:)
I like your dry humour. You had me laughing a lot 😅
If this was just a test for video editing, you've done really well. You would probably have an audience, whichever subject you chose. The DIY PC case videos, (or DIY anything) always get a lot of attention because not only are they useful and inspirational to people looking for ideas, but, for a lot of other people, it's actually just therapeutic to watch someone else engaged in creating something. A lot of the viewers probably have no intention to reproduce the DIY, but still watch because it's good entertainment.
Thank you for the comment and the advice! This video is from a year ago and this channel now came to be a woodworking channel! Of course, I'm still willing to make a wooden PC case so I do my best to improve my woodworking skills for the time being:)
That is so cool!
Oh, you even gave me a comment on my video! Thank you:)
This looks very good 👍
Thank you! The new video is also coming soon, which is related to computer things!
it's beautiful!
Thank You!
Very complicated design, very asian like, they love complex and well fabricated.
Too over complicated, this person has the facility of having many different kinds of woods/sizes, tools to his disposition. Specially the most refined woods/tools.
He doesn't imagine how lucky he is.
Thank you for the comment! Yeah, after this project, I got into woodworking and bought tools on an as needed bases:) It's been 1+ year since this video so I do have experience of handling good number of wood species and tools at a moderate hobby level now. I know I'm lucky that I have good people giving me advice, which money can't buy.
Konnichiwa! First thing, the build was inspiring, congratulations, good job! It looks so Japanese in a very good way. As for content - well, it's your channel you do what you want. Other watch because they like your style, but don't change just to get more subs or views, it's your personal view of the world we will watch for. Origato. I watch Japanese shows on cooking and traditional Japanese culture, food and small truck camping videos. Japan is a beautiful country - well the bit that not full of big cities. I will visit again.
Arigato for the comment and sharing your opinion! I'm actually in the U.S. but yes, Japan is such a beautiful country! This channel is actually ended up woodworking channel with hand tools (for now at least) and I really enjoy interaction with people just like you:) Again, thank you so much!
Nice case.
Thank you:)
Damn, this is so amazing, I don't usually leave comment on videos.
But this is so good. You made me want to DIY a PC case too, hmmm might try it one day. Your video will definitely help me one day
I'm glad to hear that! It's for sure a fun project and I usually reply to every one, haha.
very nice work bro.
very motivational comment bro.
keep it up, inspires me!
I'll try! Thank you;)
Good job friend 👍👍
Thank you! I'll try harder to get 3 thumbs up next time;)
@@YRTi yeah I understand, how difficult it is to produce a beautiful workal 😁👍 & never give up
Wow your computer case looks great
Thanks to your inspiration!
Man, you are so funny. I really enjoy this movie but anyway you can upload everything you want. I see that have a lot a patience and this is very often find in your tradition(the Japanese one). Keep doing what you like, no matter what. Nice project anyway. Greetings!
I'm glad that you enjoyed it. This video was from a year ago and now I'm into woodworking, haha:) Thank you!
Чудовий проєкт! Дякую за відео!
Thank you! This is where I started my woodworking hobby:)
Amazing. Looks very rad. not having a home garage setup, thats more like my situation lol
Thank you for the comment! My garage is just a storage aka place to hoard 🤗
@@YRTi yea I don't have one here, only at my parents place. So it is a special thing to go back there, and get to use a but more heavy equipment
@@splittedspark1675 As I'm getting into woodworking after this project, I found hand tools are good enough for my situation with the limited space unless I want to produce a quantity to sell something:)
@@YRTi yea. Currently trying to gather stuff for my own project(s). Luckily I am in a position where I can buy machines and bring them to my parents house theoretically and hoard them there :D But here I will collect them in my room and work outside. Sorry to my neighbour's but oh well
like the video really like you show mistakes and fixes unlike bigger channels.. hope to see you talent improve as you post new videos...
Thank you! I made mistakes pretty much at every phase so it's almost impossible to hide;)
amazing
Thank you!
Now i want to build one too
Why not! I was also influenced by a RUclips video to build one!
👏👏👏
😎😎😎
You must make a video on building a cool desk for your cool pc
Thank you for the idea! If only I had a presentable room... Haha
What in the flying-deep-fried fuk!!!
Its beautiful!!! Nice work
Learned the new word, flying deep fried eff. I’ll probably use the word somewhere in the next video. Thank you.
Awesome build, in the process of making one myself. Where did you purchase the fan brackets from? Did you salvage from an old case?
Thank you for the comment! I used 1/16" thick 1/2" x 1/2" aluminum angle that I got from the Homedepot and put black spray paint on. It's easy to fabricate with a hacksaw/drill.
You're so cool
Thank you!
No, thank you for making such a satisfying video B)
Keep doing pc case mods
Oh Hi! I know this comment is from 10months ago and you may have no idea who I am but I forgot to respond to your comment, sorry! I actually started woodworking after this video and hopefully, I can build a nice PC one day!!
I don't know why i didn't skip while watching.
Thanks! I may make a video to solve the mystery 🧐
Is wooden casing safe in the long term?
Thank you for the comment. I don't think it's as safe as metal one but I'm not sure by how much... It's within my boundary to take the risk until it catches the fire some day I'll never know.
Is That Ryzen 9 5950X
I'm using 5800x, which is still over spec to me.
Don't every type like that again!
Oh, haha. Check out my laptop stand DIY video! I guess, I improved the woodworking skill along with my typing skill a little bit:)
Cable management???? Uploading the clouds would be cool. You can always have multiple channels for your lazy days or cooking videos. I hear others say RUclips wants you to have all the same kind of videos on your channel. I think that's lame.
Oh this is where my woodworking started, haha. and yea, I can't like messy cables in a computer!
Now, I started to feel I want to put more effort on my channel but it's not that easy... I can't even monetize my channel at this moment! we'll see how it goes:)
