Thank you for the comment:) Since I had time this morning, I checked my memo from when making it. Please find it on my blog from the link here www.yrti.net/here/#shooting-board
I found Paul Sellers introduced the similar concept end grain shooting board for western hand planes. It's so nice and cool yet very simple so I put the link in the descriptions.
I always tell myself I don't need one of these...but I'm sure I do. It resembles a plywood straight edge I saw online. So, this might be achievable for me. Thanks
Hi! I'm not sure how often I use the end grain shooting board because in most cases, I cut tenons on the end of wood pieces but I use edge planing board so often and yes, you should try it! I'm sure you can feel the big difference:)
I like the design of this shooting board. It gets around needing an expensive plane to have a skewed cut with the western planes, like you mentioned. I had seen a couple japanese style planes wider on one side, but never knew why, learned that today! Also, the box was an awesome add-on to the shirt! (and wife and son enjoyed snacks too)
@@YRTi I washed it last week, and I'm wearing it right now as a matter of fact! Though granted, it's under a sweatshirt because it's not quite t-shirt weather yet (highs in the 40's) lol
Hi YRTI, another great vid its good to see how you make your jigs and very helpful, all i need now is some nice warm weather to enjoy my time more in my shed rather than being cold, we dont get brilliant weather here in the uk😁
Hi Mike! Now, you can enjoy woodworking in some nice warm weather and you can watch me do woodworking outside where it almost gets 40 degrees Celsius, haha. Thank you for the comment as always:)
Thank you for the comment! It actually cuts the shooting board and need a minor adjustment just like a miter shooting board(That is the reason I put the cherry board on the side). If I have more Kanna, I could set the bottom side of the Kanna sole flat(usually set to be a slightly hollowed) and use it as reference against the jig to minimize the damage but it's just to minimize it and still needs the adjustment. Having carefully using it for months, I just needed to adjust it by few slices though...
Hi there! Thank's a lot for your wonderful content. Would you like to share the dimensions of the two boards? Do you use 20mm thickness?

Another good video !!, YRTI Way to go, over 2K subscribers now.
Thank you! at about 2K subs, I can still recognize people who give me comments by their icon/name. Let's see how far I can go:)
Hello! May I ask how you prevent the kanna blade from cutting into the end grain shooting board?
Thank you for the comment! It actually cuts the shooting board and need a minor adjustment just like a miter shooting board(That is the reason I put the cherry board on the side).
