I was a teen when the first Christopher Reeve Superman movie came out. Almost everyone was blown away with him playing the role. He rally captured the look of the comic book character so well. His films always had just the right balance of campiness and heroic drama. It made for a great 70s comic book feel.
@@chtobydratsyaYou didn't think he looked like the comics? Are you serious, look at his physique and his look, no other person who played superman came close, Cavill, George Reeves, Dean Cain, Chris embodied the character.
@@Mrd9960 I was thinking his face the body is easier to emulatr
@@chtobydratsya I thought it was everything, his face and body, the hair style he had, combed to the side and his black hair.
i remember when i was 5 years old and watching Superman late at night before I go to bed...I would dream of flying and having super powers
How old are you now?
Superman saying "I'm sorry" to Jimmy is such a Superman thing to do. Christopher Reeve is and always will be my Superman! ❤
The Superman of everyone. 😊
It added a layer of realism to it as well. Typically we just see the superhero sweep in and pick up this person with broken limbs and fly off to the sunset like it's nothing. The "I'm sorry" brought it back into reality that even if Superman himself is moving you, it's still going to hurt.
Th3 humanity R33v3 incorporat3d in Sup3rman is why w3 lov3 him and th3s3 flicks
God I miss Christopher Reeve he was Superman wish he was still with us
re: "God I wish ... ". Do you often write to God via RUclips?? Ever get a response?
@@warriormanmaxx8991Uncalled for buddy, no need to be rude.
Me too
Dean Cain did well to in the roll. I think Chrustopher would have liked him.
The third movie may not have been on the level of the first two, but Christopher Reeve was consistently the best Superman throughout. This scene is thrilling, and you just want to cheer for him as he figures out a clever solution to save the day. Others have played the role well: Christopher Reeve was in a class by himself.
I was about to leave a similar comment but you said it perfectly. I agree.
I absolutely love the way ho flies off really cool 👍
I love superman all his powers and even all his flights
Cristopher Reeve will live forever
I love superman
Great special effects here especially the flying
One of the best scenes in the movie.
Maybe my favorite scene from superman 3. I never forget that scene.
Brilliant! I tell you that man's a miracle!
Love these scenes in this franchise where Superman is really Supermaning.
I like how Clark and Jimmy crouch to hide right next to a cop directing traffic, who then watches as Jimmy runs, still crouched, to catch up to a fire truck to use it as cover.
yeah thats what happened all right
And the cop in the car who doesn't hear his door open, nor see a man get in and Superman get out. 😆 They really weren't doing too well that day, were they?
The change in the car is fantastic...
I Love to watch Superman III!💙💙💙✊✊✊
Christopher Reeve still the real man of Steel RIP 🙏 🦸
So amazing how Superman takes off
Love how Superman was in no rush to get that scientist out of the building but instead stayed to listen to what he had to say about that chemical acid
Yea, I wonder if that’s somehow going to pay off later in the film.
@@frederickdefeo3768Lol and it did, with that super computer from Gus.
@@Mrd9960 Weird plot point, because by the end of the movie I sure as heck can't remember this conversation in the factory anymore.
I love how the cop is staring at both of them about 0:45 . Its hilarious. You expect to enact your plan in full hearing distance of a cop?! 😆😆
Not just one cop but two...the one standing in the road in front of the police car looking at Clark and Jimmy (who watched Jimmy run past but never tried to stop him) and the cop who was sitting in the police car the entire time.
@@BeazleyStudiosThat's the movie world for you, lol
People gives this a free pass before of its time, but will nitpick if even the slightest detail is wrong in todays movies. 💀 Honestly missed when people just enjoyed movies without having to do a deep dive on every frame that happens
@@magiusfantasia5506- they're only saying they like when that happens. Lighten up ffs.
Nostalgia
Superman III is my favourite of Christopher's Superman movies.
Police officer just stands and watched him run past and jump on the fire engine 😂😂😂
Rest in peace Christopher Reeve😢😢😢
Superman ( Christopher Reeve ) to the rescue!!!
Good times. Good movies ❤😢
He was the best superman ever
This needs 4K remaster.
Actually, they already did 5 superman movies in 4K collection.
A moment of silence for the brave sacrifice of all the fish, frogs, turtles, and other aquatic creatures in that lake.
Rip to all those fish in the lake that were dumped on the fire 😅😅😅
On the flip side they make for good eating
Relax, Supes froze the surface of the lake when he blew on it, so the 🐟 were unharmed.
@@calvinwatson5639Yeah if you notice, when he lifts it up you can see there's still water there.
@@Mrd9960 Yeah, but that's just a terrible special effect. He's clearly carrying a thick platter of ice that represents the whole lake.
I love how whilst Jimmy and Clark are “hiding” crouched by the police car, there’s a police officer just stood there watching them and clearly listening to what Jimmy saying about distracting them. Then he just watches as Jimmy “sneaks” by him and does nothing to stop him! 😂
Clark's got his Matlock suit on
Man I really miss those graceful takeoff and landings.
Yeah.... not hard takeoffs and landings like Henry Cavill.
I can only imagine what Quicksilver (X-Men) would do in this situation😅 Superman could have blown it all out no? Still a cool scene 👍🏻 Chris is still my Superman, the only. He made Superman lll and lV watchable.
Let's see a blazing inferno, so superman takes a large metal tube and has a bunch of scientists in lab coats slide down it. Sure that will work no third degree burns here no sireee. 😂 😂
As a kid, I was in awe of those fire trucks
Ok, why didn't Superman just put out the flames with his super freeze breath?
He wanted some action
Right 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Or cool down the acid.
The firemen were still struggling with the fire when they lost water. Two birds with one stone.
Always wondered that too.Guess it was cooler (no pun intended) to carry a lake through the air.
"If this acid heats up it will kill millions."
Yeah, if only there was someone who could blow on it to cool it down...
He HAS to breathe also you know.
@@omnielectron9616He means his super breath, but they wanted to be creative with it, so they had him freeze the lake and drop it on the fire.
Not that i mind the idea with the lake and how it was executed, but it would've been wild if he came back with the biggest ice berg he could find lol @@Mrd9960
Superman grew up in Smallville. He should know where the lakes are…
Superman only pretended not to know where the lake was located. He couldn't just fly there without causing suspicion. Superman had to ask the question first.
4:43 -- You can spot the shadow on the firetruck of the crane piece holding the wires attached to Superman when he lands.
I knew it! Superman really can't fly! He's a fraud!
Well do remember for the time it was made there wasn't all of the more far advanced computers graffics 3D Special Effects.
For the time it was made it did turn out one very good brilliant fantastic great entertainment masterpiece film.
They worked with what they had.
In Superman the first film it was the same with the shadow of the camera man after when Superman takes Louise Home and he takes off.
Notice Shadow.
Anymore Shadows we will give Cliff Richard a call or Peter Pan out looking for his lost Shadow
Abd it still looks way more realistic than the CGI of today
@@Christian_Ada1 yip and still a classic just a shame it's not a Chocolate Fox's Classic Biscuit.

I saw this in the theater at age 6. A lot of this movie scared me. I don't remember seeing that guy coming out of the door covered in flames and screaming that he was on fire though. That is scaring me now!
Best Clark Kent and Superman ever, if he did those Superman movies in today's world, they would've done more with his powers and his speed like The Flash and Brandon Superman with the gun shot as the bullet slowly hits his eye and bounces off.
Best scene ❤
Get this guy a helmet!......Forget the helmet
I love how matter of fact that line was. it felt authentic and funny
Who the hell is that? Hey you get offa that! I'm just gonna get a couple of more shots! EXPLOSION 💥!!! Jimmy falls and breaks his leg.He sure don't listen does he?
Yes he didn't listen.
Yes and he learned the hard way didn't he? Lol
Jimmy never listens in these movies. He finds himself almost dead and in dangerous situations a few times, only to have superman save him.
1983 wow i was only 10b years old this movie really brings back memories witching this movie with my older sister's was incredible i even remember one of my older sister's told me to come nd sit on her lap because i was so quiet and at the same time she felt so sorry for me because i looked so sad even at the age of 51 the relationship i had with my older sister's was so tight it wasn't funny i really mis those days
When he ice breathed the lake I was like yes… now go do that in the lab… #Solved
The producers of the movie, wanted to be creative with it and have drama, instead of it being so easy like that, but yeah I know what you mean.
What's worse than explosive or flammable?
At 03:09 of this "Superman" video, actor Christopher Reeve (Superman) appears opposite Barry Dennen, who played Pontius Pilate in the famous 1973 Rock Opera "Jesus Christ Superstar".
In "Superman III" Barry Dennen played the scientist Dr. McClean, in an isolated scene where he starred opposite Christopher Reeve (Superman).
You have to admire Superman's intelligence in this sequence, he knew that simply blowing out the fires with his ice breath, could potentially have risked a bigger disaster in the process blowing on potentially explosive chemicals that could have risked the lives of all that were there with a bigger explosive disaster.
I was always intrigued noticing superman shaking off what might be doubt or anger carrying that ice over the plant. Anyone else notice this?
I think it's him concerned that it might not work and the acid will escape and kill millions.
I considered it a look of determination.
I think Superman really wants us to work out problems for ourselves. Until the last moment of course. Tis probably why he just didn't blow out the flames.
Get this man a halmet 😂😂😂😂😂
Christopher Reeves received a lot of critical acclaim for his portrayal of Clark Kent and Superman and their contrast in even the little things. How he slummped his body, the way he changed his voice, etc. That duality is missing in more recent superman roles except for Brandon Routh. He also played a difference between the two. Christopher will always be the best superman for me
Reeve, not Reeves
@magicjim1 LOL. Thanks. I've been saying Reeves since he became Superman. Will correct myself
Why on Earth would you stop it there?! Haha. Cheers, people.
It's kinda strange seeing this because I haven't watched this movie in years and is because a long time ago I used to have this DVD years ago
SUPERMAN II
Is it a metal tunnel? Isn't it hot?
Was the opening scene on the bus a deleted scene? I dont remember seeing that before?
No, but there were parts cut out of that scene and others throughout the film for some reason. I used to have the full version on video that has the opening credits with the music, as opposed to credits over the slapstick comedy.
No, it's in the movie. There's actually more footage in the film where Jimmy is boring Clark by talking about his family.
@@masereYeah all the superman movies had tv versions that added extra footage and dialogue from the 1980s, that's different from the original movie release of the DVDs, it's kind of stupid they didn't just include everything, the extra scenes and dialogue make the movie more complete.
I like how the extremely hazardous material that cant exceed 180c is being cooled by regular ceiling fans
How much hard work they put thosed days to make a film for kids that's us those days😢
Who told you that this movie is for kid's only ?
❤❤❤❤
NOs filmes do Superman não são os efeitos especiais q dão o tom!e sim um homem forte e super altruísta!!!
super came out of the comic book reeve s is super man was born to be super man the greatest the barometer for any actor tall and hand some
This is a job for SUPERMAN
Superman III was an underrated gem.
With all the accumulated knowledge at the Fortress Of Solitude and Superman doesn't know that you should never pick up anyone that has a possibly broken leg. On top of that, it makes no sense that he doesn't use his x-ray vision to check the leg until after he get Jimmy to the medic.
I think the normal rules of not picking up someone with a broken leg would not apply if the person were literally laying in the middle of a fire and about to burn to death.
I can accept Superman's invulnerability, superstrength, and power of flight a lot easier than I can the idea that his breath can automatically lower itself to freezing temperature. Even fantasies have their limits.
Fantasies actually don't have limits, that's the thing. You just have to accept the movie is what it is. It's also an old movie.
Interesting that Jimmy refers to him as Clark at first, which is unusual for him. But a moment later, he goes back to referring to him as Mr. Kent.
"We must keep this acid cool."
"Ok, I'll go have them use their hoses."
"We don't have water"
"Ok, I'll go freeze a lake."
Tell you see the failure in logic here.
सुपरमैन 🎉
5:46 freeze 🥶 breath is my second favorite power while, my first favorite power is heat vision.
That first takeoff is a thing of beauty. It captures the grace of flight and is believable.
This is a very good scene honestly the first 60 or so minutes of Superman 3 are quite good. However, once he turns evil, and Richard Pryor becomes the dominant character in the film, this whole thing sadly goes down the drain.
Tom Welling was fun, Brandon Routh was enjoyable, Henry Cavill was oerfect. And yet, Christopher Reeve WAS superman.
Superman l to 5 I saw complete movie
Love this sequence so much even if it doesn't make much sense. Superman could move at super speed and blow out all the fires in seconds. There would be no need for a lake or anything. But hey who cares?
4:00 4:32 4:51 What Jimmy did was stupid and reckless. He put his life in danger by climbing up the fire engine ladder so he could take photos for the Daily Planet of the inferno and because of that he injured his leg, and he could have got killed.
Like he being photographer for The Daily Planet danger goes with territory
Superman in 0.5x speed before
Now 2x speed 😂
Wait, that's it? What happened next ?
I felt bad for Jimmy breaking his leg in that fire.
Can't have finished the scene?
Hello
Hello.
There.
Didn’t notice as a kid but those cops saw Jimmy run past them( they weren’t supposed to let him go), and come on you didn’t see Clark Kent change into Superman? LOL
The cop did shake his head when Superman got out the other side, like he thought he was imagining it maybe, lol
@@Mrd9960 no dumbass that’s after he left the car they didn’t see him changing at that moment smh stop the meth
Ever heard of him changing at SUPER-SPEED ?? Come on folks.😮
@@waltersimmons946 ever hear of still seeing a blur of somekind? He’s not God he can’t just do it while he’s invisible he still operates on the laws of physics and he’s moving superfast in the car, like what, is the car not going to move? 🙄
@thedon1570 They didn't show a "blur" in that particular scene at all . In "SUPERMAN" during the scene where Clark could hear the sound frequency along with the dogs, which was ultimately a trap by Luthor when Clark went out the window while Perry White was talking, Clark changed in mid-air at super speed. Then, in SUPERMAN II, when Clark went to the back alley and changed to save Lois in Paris at the Eiffle tower , they most likely left it to our imagination what Clark can do in SUPERMAN III . I guess that's why it's called SCIENCE FICTION. LOL 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆
This film started out promisingly and I loved that Clark vs. Superman battle… but really the film was a mess for the most part.
Clark sure takes some risks when changing into superman. So many people could have seen him change. I mean he is superman after all so maybe that's why no one saw him. Just saying though, it was funny to see him change in the cop car.
I love this scene and all but wouldn't it of been easier for superman to freeze breath the acid over flying 5miles to freeze the lake? Or am i missing something?
That is true, but he still has the rest of the factory fire he needs to put out.
My judge is still until mate forever like Jeff messick
Only pet dislike of this film The deputy Officer was totally Clueless of the situation.
And then the Number 2 Fire fighter thought Superman was going to fly them one at a time and in all honesty He could have done 3 at a time.
"WE'VE GOT TO HAVE *WATER‼️* "
😏 No, really?
슈퍼맨 옷 평상복 케주얼 옷입고 활동 하면 될것 같아요 헤어스타일 자연스런 모발이면 될것 같네요
So the dude in the laboratory had to stay and watch the acid in case it overheated ? Well, if it did there wasn't much he could do to prevent it anyway, so what was the point ??
Heroic sacrifice. He wanted to do everything possible up until the last moment.
Hey, that's Marty McFly's brother.
Why didn't he just blow his cold air onto the fire and freeze it all?
There were people still trapped inside the building certainly Superman wouldn't want to endanger them by freezing the building.
Or freeze the acid?
@@masere -- Yeah agreed. Supes should've at least blown some cold air on the acid containers before leaving the lab just to be sure. Shame the script writers missed that one.
@@sergs1963 that is true, makes for great drama tho.
