Well there's actually no reason why GW can't 3D print these old kits as a means of being cheaper and allowing them to print on demand. This way there's no stock/inventory to maintain and no storage needed. When they decide to just drop models, recasters eventually find a way to keep it going. GW can prevent at least that problem by #d printing themselves. And let's be honest, the 3D printed pieces would be cleaner and less problematic then the resins they're stuck with at Forgeworld.

The fact that age of sigmar now no longer exists on forge world, but they’re still pumping out Horus heresy and old world stuff is coming, makes me think that it’s transitioning into something just for those other games. Which makes sense that a website which is a relic of the past is only being used to sustain the games that are set in the past settings.
Forge World is likely transitioning to focusing on “specialist” games, which includes Horus Heresy and Old World, but also Necromunda and Blood Bowl (but, noticeably, NOT the other skirmish games Kill Team, Warcry and Underworlds). It makes a certain amount of sense: those four (and Titanicus?) are all somewhat oldschool games detached from the main 40k and AoS brands, and supposedly Forge World are closely involved in their production, so their models are an integrated part of the game (their rules are in the main rulebooks alongside the plastic units), not an awkward add-on the way they are for 40k. They are pretty much Forge World games with some GW support, not the other way around. Rather than being a relic of the past, I think Forge World is being transitioned into being the second coming of the Fanatic branch, and I’m here for it (Mordheim revival when?)

i think forge world should really just focus on bits more than full on minis. maybe keep it with special characters that might not sell as much too. but beyond that i think selling stuff that can be essential to some armies *cough* custodies *cough* is bad. it’d also be dope if they used it to sell alternate sculpts of different characters like those from the games or shows. kinda like what they’re doing for titus as a lieutenant count as. that’d be cool for like making your more generic characters a bit more special like for commissars.
like if they made it where you could go on forge world and be like “hmmmm i wanna make a really cool custom commissar for my new officio prefectus commissar kit so i’ll pick out this plasma pistol and power fist that’s she’ll hold in a different pose than standard and then i’ll pick this alternate leg sculpt and finally i’ll pick this cool unique head sculpt that has her yelling orders” to me that would be the perfect use of forge world. let us buy alternate bits for different factions with maybe a few specific ones like unique arms/legs/chest/backpacks and such for specific sculpts. then they can justify their high prices despite not as good quality with the more work that’d have to be put into separating bits off their sprues and organized for sale lmao, and then because it’d mostly be individual bits they can just make massive sprues that scrunch as much stuff as they can onto them regardless of faction cause they’ll have a machine/person that separates it and sorts it later making it cheaper to produce molds
I just handed off my original FW Chappy dread to my best friend and the person who got me into the hobby... I am starting over almost from scratch after not having played for nearly 10 years...I only kept my nids (I have tons of Nids all the way from 2nd edition through 5th, doesn't look like I missed all that many models in the meantime though some are plastic now) and started GSC cause I used to kitbash GSC back in the day as well in a homebrew 3rd edition GSC list (very guard like with better CC, fewer heavy shooting weapons, Limos with chimera stats, and some mild psychic buffs).

All of the forgeworld Greater Daemons had names and unique datasheets. They were suped up LoW versions of the normal greater daemons. The LoC and Bloodthirster models in particular are significantly bigger than the GW counterparts. They are going to be Legends now.

I feel like with a stalactite (Stelacmite?) base for the GW bloodthirster would make him look better. Him jumping out of a bit of fire in an open field seems lame. Make him jumping out of fire in a spiked rock base and have some OSL coming from the fire and he’d look much better.

it’d also be dope if they used it to sell alternate sculpts of different characters like those from the games or shows. kinda like what they’re doing for titus as a lieutenant count as. that’d be cool for like making your more generic characters a bit more special like for commissars.
like if they made it where you could go on forge world and be like “hmmmm i wanna make a really cool custom commissar for my new officio prefectus commissar kit so i’ll pick out this plasma pistol and power fist that’s she’ll hold in a different pose than standard and then i’ll pick this alternate leg sculpt and finally i’ll pick this cool unique head sculpt that has her yelling orders”
to me that would be the perfect use of forge world. let us buy alternate bits for different factions with maybe a few specific ones like unique arms/legs/chest/backpacks and such for specific sculpts. then they can justify their high prices despite not as good quality with the more work that’d have to be put into separating bits off their sprues and organized for sale lmao, and then because it’d mostly be individual bits they can just make massive sprues that scrunch as much stuff as they can onto them regardless of faction cause they’ll have a machine/person that separates it and sorts it later making it cheaper to produce molds
The alternate head for the Great Unclean One shows a lot more personality than the one you looked at! I'd go check it out, a cool cyclops head with gross evil tongue
Absolutely gutted, I've had my eye on the keepet of secrets for my Slaanesh army. Not the biggest fan of the current plastic kit. Time to get a 3D printer. Honestly the only greater demon I'm not dsappointed with are the gw lord of change and maybe e great unclean. We need new demons, come on gw gimmie some more daemonettes or something that isn't a Hq choice. And please no more space marines lieutenants
Best we can do is a couple of Space Marine lieutenants, sorry
I prefer older miniatures in general cause they're not disgustingly overdesigned but I guess thats what 3d printing is for ¯\_( ͠° ͟ʖ °͠ )_/¯
Cool, bro, hope she sees this
After seeing this I am tempted to put one of my old Dreadnaughts on the base of the primaris Dreadnough standing on his chest 😢
NOOOOO
Do it. I plan on running my old castra ferrum dreds even after they are gone.
"The future is now old man"
Well the eastern Europe resin forges go brrrrr.
Losing Tyberos the Red Wake really hurts me. Not having any official rules for my chapter will be awful in 10th; I won't be able to bring my chapter master to the tournaments I go to and it hurts.
I recently bought the Nightshroud Bomber and not even had a chance to put it together yet.
23:49 I always thought this Nid-guy had no balance to it, it looks like it should just fall flat on it's face. Nids are my new favourite as well (since the updated Gaunts, they're gorgeous and have been waiting for them for a lonnnnng-ass time) but I always thought the Dimmy looked weird in it's default pose. I've seen reworked versions that are great though, you just need to reposition the legs a bit.
The newer Tzeentch Bird-person design is almost a Final Fantasy summon…..
@3:24 oldschool dreadnoughts are best, i agree. lightning claws!
Probs part a clearing of range to be more focused on big things as it seems was intended and part freeing up capacity for old world
GW doing an amazing job with FOMO.
Almost all models in Forge sold-out in less than 2 hours.
Good job GW, Good Job.
The forge world Keeper of Secrets looks like she would love to rock with the noise marines, they should be both in one kit, Keeper of Secrets twins, one all posh and composed and one rocking/head banging with the noise dudes
hey my guy.
I think I have the banner from the black templar ven dread lying about. I personally don't like banners
seeing as you said you liked it but are missing it is there some way I can send it to you?
How dumb do you think I am to fall for a trick like that?
You're clearly a bot account.
I understand stopping the sale of some of these kits, the resins that is. However, ditching even the kits from Warhammer the game and killing the ability for people like Blood Ravens to play their leader is shitty
@@JohnWarhammer0 Agreed
Someone should make a compilation of all those awesome models and memories weekly intros 🥳
I think i have the Black Templar dreadnought in mint condition laying around? Interested?
I have the Black Templar dreadnought! Need to think of what to do with it. Any Ideas?
Trade it with Jae if it sounds good to you
All of the forgeworld Greater Daemons had names and unique datasheets. They were suped up LoW versions of the normal greater daemons. The LoC and Bloodthirster models in particular are significantly bigger than the GW counterparts. They are going to be Legends now.
I'm not sad that Gabriel Angelos model is leaving. Not only is it a reminder of an absolutely terrible game, it also follows it's bad artstyle. Goddamn sixhead moai statue in terminator armor.
I have the really old cow face Keeper of Secrets tucked away somewhere...
I feel like with a stalactite (Stelacmite?) base for the GW bloodthirster would make him look better. Him jumping out of a bit of fire in an open field seems lame. Make him jumping out of fire in a spiked rock base and have some OSL coming from the fire and he’d look much better.
Thank the gods of chaos for 3d printing
I liked the Dimachaeron in concept, then I saw it irl dwarfing a trygon. Very busy model and a huge resin guy are not my ideas for a fun time. Also, RIP stone crusher fexes.
I always look forward to the variations of how!?!
they are converting loads of Forgeworld kits into plastic that's probably why, that and the fact they are moving production and warehouse facilities and the Furioso is just the Brutalis Dreadnought really with the Talons etc...
RIP my Troggoth hag the herd just doesnt feel the same without you
They have the Brutalis Redemptor as your Furioso equivalent.
Jay, you put out three videos a week.
HOW could you possibly have more to say? 😂
I'll be showing my age but I used to have the original Lead bloodthirster, his wings were too heavy to stay on
I am partial to the little rat with a prosthetic wheel on Thanquol's kit
Nice Bladerunner reference Jay!
The stupitist part is that There are now LITERALLY NO AGE OF SIGMAR FORGE WORLD MODELS!
Is this bad or good, I haven't yet decided.
But hey, that means new malanthrope and demachearon (or however you spell it)
or not 🤷🏻♂️
@@markhanson9508😐
That doesn't mean it at all.
No it doesn’t, don’t get your hopes up!
Forge world keeper of secrets looks endlessly more slaanesh and better
Sounds like boxnauts will also loose rules then. Soooo maybe there are some you could pickup and turn in to something ork
Same for old termis turned in to meganobz
Stop scamming
Tzeentch - Excess Shenanigans
This is definitely not the first time we've seen a proper culling of Forge World
Thank the gods for 3D printing. I really don't understand why GW doesn't just sell STLs of models they discontinue.
Jay my wipes on the greater deamon are still intact. I used a hair dryer to get them to have the curves.
You use all of the movie quotes you want to, Jay!
3DPrinter: "It's free real estate!"
My favorite part of the plastic lord of change is the Knee Mouth. Yes. The knee mouth is real is can hurt you.
Redemptors are not replacements for the Boxnaught! I refuse. Redemptors are too sleek, smooth, and refined. Boxnaughts are big, chunky, brutal necessity.
The Box Dreadnought has been around since 2nd edition, not 4th.
In 2nd edition, it was a metal model. The plastic one is from 4th.
not the plastic.kit he's referring to. hence box naught. the metal one had been OOP for eons
“I spent so much time looking at there crotch” 💀💀💀💀💀
GW bungled this so hard. They didn't even do a final MTO for iconic models, just nope, gone instantly.
The forgeworld version of daemon of tzeentch is absolutely perfect, The only problem is the price...
This was in the process for years. Nobody should be surprised by 20+ year old models being discontinued.
The excess of Slanesh is fantastically easy to define, it's just not possible to express that for toys aimed at kids! 🍆🍑 etc.
That “meow” got me XD well done sir well done.
Box Dreadnought has been around since 2nd!
Nothing better than a morning coffee and some EOB.
I do not like at all the new Great demon of Slaneesh. The old Forgeworld one was a lot better in my mind.
22:45 That nurgling is not the best one. In my opinion the sassy nurgling with the helmet is better.
its a mistake to get rid of the old dred. I'd prefer a scaling up on size.
