It would be so cool to see a Tau killteam with each member being from different species... Like all those alien races serving under the same unit, each of them contributing to the mission with the strengths of their kin
@@an.g.3475 I wonder if one ever influenced the other, like halo has a lot of things that are 40k adjacent, like the word “heretic” I wonder if bungie liked the tau
I've been reading Gaunt's Ghosts books and a xeno race named Loxatl keeps showing up as mercenaries and man , i think it's something i'd really love to see.
Yeah, we should have gotten more client races in the model line like the Vorgh. They're a client race of the Tau who are described in the 8th edition codex as so, "Despite their size, they are peaceful until they are roused to anger. Then the Vorgh's size and resiliency allows them to prevail over even a super-heavy combat walker." That means they can fight TITANS and win! The Tau have a race that's basically made up of Godzillas/kaijus! Why don't they have models?!
I love that these feel properly alien. Obviously the tyranids are space bugs, but remarkably humanoid space bugs nonetheless. Your Thalteans just seem so inhuman, yet believable, too!
Gw really need to encourage conversions more, not only does the modularity of some kits begin to justify the high price. In fact the conversion possibilities is what got me into Chaos.
man I'm sure this video won't get as many views as a space marine conversion, but T'au are one of my absolute faves and this is just so freaking cool! Thanks for the great work you do Pete!
This is so cool! They could be like advisors and strategists for tau commanders along with having their own little teams which would be great ambushers thanks to their ability to assess situations and back out/into different engagements. I also think that the little helmet thing at the front has potential for lore things as it could serve a use to the tau in order to keep theltians who come to a conclusion against the greater goods using their minds, along with allowing for better communications and possibly mind control like (Allegedly) with the vespids. Although the theltians are most useful for their minds so it would take other forms than straight up mind control, over all I love it!
Bit late, given that Primarchs was the last video, but what about kitbashing some from canon? Corvus Corax being a loyalist daemon primarch always struck me as fun. He just spent so long in the eye of terror chasing Lorgar that he mutated into a giant shadow bird monster.
Loved the actual video. Feel the need to say that this was Adverts -> Sponsor -> Adverts for four straight minutes; that's basically TV length, something streaming once served to get away from. Perhaps I'm just not used to it anymore, and yes I normally use an adblocker but not on this PC, and the sponsor can be skipped, but I dunno, got to me enough to send me to the comments section. Here Pete, have some interaction :P Sorry for being negative.
Another great one Pete! Desperate to find some Custodes kitbashes. Always liked the idea that they're each individuals so I'm looking at ways to emphasise that each is a hero character in my force. Would help if they weren't proper short!
I absolutely love this build - I was rewatching your Raptor Terminators build video and got nostalgic over the Ironclad Dreadnought - perhaps a video could be made making one for primaris? Brutalis/Redemptor as a base, turn the fists into a seismic hammer and chainfist? The autolaunchers off of a Land Raider Redeemer could work on the chest armour... might build this myself now haha
Very nice sculpt and paint! I love the blend of organic and mechanical components in the Thaltean, reminds me of an Advisor from Half Life 2. (I think that's what they're called?) Anyway, good stuff!
That looks great. I'm curious whey you went with the standard steel rod rather than something like guitar wire that has some built in texture though; was it just what you had on hand or did you want the smoother cables? I'm also wondering how well that lens painting technique would pair with surface finish variation and just hitting the lenses with a gloss/ultra-gloss varnish after the all over mat spray.
@PeteTheWargamer would you ever consider creating other miniatures based on different homebrews? Some stuff you might like include "Endhammer", "Transformers 40K", and "Astrum Nihilum".
Took longer than it should have to find the Skrav, but I can't find the other custom race he mentions at all, does anybody have a link? These are dope!
I love the idea, but why go naked to the battlefield, clothed by only a few armour pieces? Missed opportunity to wrap the alien in some garment, creating en eerie Metal Gear Solid IV Gekko look.
You know, I find your presentations far more interesting when you are painting fantasy over historicals. The is no wrong colour in fantasy and the lore lends itself to imagination much more easily. A quick question on this one. Is the creature embedded in a normal Tau force as a specialist? Or do you think they would operate in their own discrete unit?
I hate to ask, but could you do a xenos build like this for the Q'Orl Swarmhood? It's a pretty obscure part of the 40k universe, which I find to be strange because it's a relatively massive xenos empire very close to Terra
how do i put this... If you assemble the mounts on their own are they bare creatures like they would appear in the wild and then you add their riders etc or are they like the ogre creatures that have sculpted straps etc so you need to learn to greenstuff fur etc if you want to create a wild version?

I'd love to have these in my killteam if you are willing to get rid of them.
It would be so cool to see a Tau killteam with each member being from different species... Like all those alien races serving under the same unit, each of them contributing to the mission with the strengths of their kin
So basically the covenant?
@TFrog1324 Well, yes. The Tau Empire and the Covenant have some similarities, that's for sure
I was just about to make a similar comment. A whole kill team of just kit bashed auxiliaries would be pretty sweet!
@@an.g.3475 I wonder if one ever influenced the other, like halo has a lot of things that are 40k adjacent, like the word “heretic” I wonder if bungie liked the tau
I think this exact idea would be amazing for a video game.
This is incredible. Definitely has a half-life feel to it, although I doubt that the Tau would appreciate that comparison
Tau.. Combine. Barely can tell a difference.
You implying that offending xenos is a bad thing ?
@@lapantony There ARE humans in the Tau empire. The Tau aren't exclusively Xenos.
@@smacky101A empire with couple systems and a interdimensional threat assimilating other dimensions?

I wish GW would have gone this kind of direction with the Tau model range.
Imagine if they were like the Covenant from Halo

Fr make a seperate army for the dweeb gundams the actually interesting part of this army has never been even slightly realized

I liked that "Couple of thin layers" when using Duncan's paint 🤣
@@tiktikboom2371 it’s legally distinct!
Damn, I'd love to see a whole army like this. Your custom alien species are all so well done.
This is the beauty of the Tau! The conversion options!
Gw really need to encourage conversions more, not only does the modularity of some kits begin to justify the high price. In fact the conversion possibilities is what got me into Chaos.
And the GSC as well.
This reminds me so much of the engineers from halo especially the living machine idea. The tau needs far more auxiliaries like this
Literally my favourite videos are these ones where the weird corners of the Warhammer universes are explored.
The Tau being the Combine of the 40k universe is such a fun concept to add some grim dark to the faction

Awesome. would love to see a kill team with each member being a unique tau auxiliary. some lore accurate and some original :)
Saw your post on this kitbash on Reddit! I was like, "Hey, I recognize that!"
LOVE how this adds some extra grim dark feel to the Tau, you can’t really tell if the merger of tech and biology is voluntary or enforced 😮
I binged watch the previous ones last night funny enough. glad you made more
Very cool build, always happy to see a Tau Auxiliary conversion!
Honestly this guy is one of the best kitbashers out there!

Kitbash is king! Amazing build!
I think this is really cool, love some Tau auxiliaries. Imagine if they got more representation on the tabletop
this gives me some combine vibes.
What a great design you managed to get, kudos!
Fantastic work, as always. Your work is brilliant for inspiring doesn’t matter what faction you’re kit basing.
I love seeing your uploads. The kitbashing you do is amazing & inspired me to start kitbashing my own Necron Dynasty
Thanks so much for this! I just recently got my own tabletop minis for 40k and I want to make my own tau auxiliary as a fun side project!
Would be cool to see some images at the end with the collections of these unique builds with their faction members.
Would love to see some Eldar kitbashes with the new models coming out.
Brilliant work dude. Got kind of star wars vibes from it too!

An aquatic based Tau auxiliary would cool to see next
We need more of this and an open source offshoot of Warhammer.
Another amazing kit bash. You should do a squad entry for GD. It would be worth a finalist pin just for the ingenuity.
I really wish the T'au had rules for making Auxillaries.
Also, since you've made infantry and battlesuits, what if you made a T'au Auxiliary vehicle?
Tau: "physically weak? Welcome aboard! "
That was such a cool kitbash. I can't wait to get my hands on some dead animal bits for myself 🤩
What a cute guy, and so well painted!
That is spectacular work! Massive Kudos!
Such a cool build, love it!
Good 2 c u on my feed! Awesome build

super nice and so better than the old mini for this unit!
Yep it has a Combine vibe asthetic like a cross between the Hunters from Half life episode 2 and the advisors.
It just works! I love it
Looks great! Reminds me of the Combine from Half-Life. Specifically the Combine Advisor.
This creature looks like something that would be part of Alliance from Half Life
Amazing work as always!

Hell yes! This is what we been waiting for!
I imagine it has a face like that one bug from starship troopers where they called it afraid
Suggestion - since we're getting close to Emperor's Children getting a release: Please make the Doomrider :D Most metal daemon prince of them all
Well, that's not horrifying looking at all. Well played.
Love tau auxiliary!
This is so fun, and as someone already mentioned, super HalfLife Vibes too! Fantastic stuff as always

Yes! More xenos!
Could you do some speculative species from All Tomorrows as Tau auxiliaries??
Looks like a breengrub. Makes me wonder about a combine/tau converted army, even with how annoying that sounds.
I would love to Kitbash a species I made for my Chapter’s lore. It’s an Aztec Ant based species that worships Khorne.
That's bullshit that the sniper drones function like normal drones in game.
Finally a Tau auxiliary that looks alien!i wish the entire Tau roster consisted of guys like these instead of generic blue-faced smug weaboos
When you see that exact post on the reddit and suddenly this channel gets recommended truly the datacollection goes brrrrt.
Would you consider doing a Tau enthralled Tyranid unit or monster?
It’s like a legged engineer from halo
There is a specific reason to use airbrush thinner instead of constrast medium to dilute the Magos purple?
I think it's to make it behave more like the old style GW washes and less like a contrast paint.
8:24 which airbrush thinner did you use? I’ve tried Vallejo for this but it never dries.
