We even had a back and forth about a month ago or so. I truly agree. Us men need a "CAR/TOY" when we hit 40. I'm 36 and want a C7 Corvette so bad. I've wanted one since I was 8. I mentioned a couple months ago that I kind of got the "VIPER" interest but came back to me being 8 years old and how bad that 8 year old wanted a Corvette. I've come back to the Corvette even more now because I see my son, who is 6 1/2 saying "Daddies favorite car is a Corvette ZO6." My soon to be 5 year old daughter says the same thing...LOL. You actually seem like a nice person. If I had a Corvette I would invite you to Michigan to experience the Woodward Dream Cruise. For a car guy it should be a bucket list thing, to say the least. Keep up the great content. As for "March Madness" from your most recent video, my MICHIGAN WOLVERINES are still in the running. We need to get passed Oregon this Thursday night though. They're a great team. I'm married to my best friend w/3 beautiful children but my dream is still to own a C7. They are my 1st priority in life but man, that Corvette in the garage would be icing on the cake. Back when I was 21 I had a 2000 WS6 TA w/T-Tops in a manual. Hanson Fam I remember that conversation we had. GM hit a homer in when they came out with the C7. It took the corvette to a whole new level and experience for the driver. This weekend My wife and I had it out with the top off and there is nothing like it. She doesn't like to go fast so I just cruise when she is with me. A guy pulled up next to me in a dodge Hellcat and was revving his engine and he said you want to go. I said sorry my wife's with me she then said is that a fast car and I said yes, she said then show me what this car can do. From a 40 mph roll we counted to 3 and honked and we were off. It wasn't even close. The Z06 took off like it was shot from a cannon. After hitting a speed I won't mention here I slowed down. The hell cat caught up and the driver said wow, I had no clue the Z06 had that kind of get up and go. It is a car that demands all of your respect because of its ability but it is so well built and its technology you never feel out of control even bat high speeds. I remember when I was in my later 30's I got my First Corvette a 2006 C6 Convertible with 2k miles on it. This was in 2007 and I had ALWAYS wanted a Corvette!
You can definitely put me in the category of "middle aged guy buying a sports car". Haha. My stepdad had a white 1975 Stingray & I swore that i would own one someday cuz they're just so damn cool. So I finally bought my first used Corvette when I turned 40 (6 yrs ago) & despite having to fix several mechanical problems over the yrs (It's a 1998 C5 with 100,000 miles on it after all), i'm still really glad that I bought it. It's plenty fast enuff to satisfy my needs, handles well, is a beautiful light blue color & as any Vette owner knows... it turns heads where ever I go. I kinda know how a movie star or a beautiful woman feels now. Haha. Ppl also can't believe me when I tell them that it's 19 yrs old cuz it looks almost new. But I baby it as if my life depended on it so i guess that makes sense. Anyway, i'd luv to buy one of these C7's someday cuz there so frickin' awesome but it's gonna be really hard to let go of my baby. So maybe i'll just have 2 corvettes someday. ;-)

As a guy who tracks his Grand Sport I can tell you unless you have very deep pockets you can keep those carbon brakes. Technology has caught up and a good set of pads and the stock Brembo set up is excellent. Carbon wears faster and replacement costs are insane. I have a friend with a Z28 who dumped his carbon for a good iron setup.
I just bought a 2017 Grand Sport. I got the admiral blue, 2lt and heritage package. its my first corvette and loving it. only has 157 miles on it right now. i get positive comments on it every time i take it out, its a real head turner!!!
Brian Hooper I really love the GS and putting it in the Z06 body was a great idea by GM. The Admiral Blue was the post popular new color sold this past year. It's an amazing looking car. Now make sure you drive it and often. 😂😂 all kidding aside congratulations on getting the car. 007mrmrbig my Z06 gets 26-28 HWY and 18 in town. Pretty good gas mileage for a racing car of that caliber. I would t go with GS because you think it has better gas mileage. Yet again when you are buying a $70K or more car your not really worried about gas 😂😂

007mrmrbig depending on how many miles your driving per day. If it's mainly HWY then for sure if your doing 30-40 miles a day. That means no racing anyone 😂

Just subscribed to your page, and enjoyed the informing video. As of April this year, I have an Lt1 6.2L V8 2014 Corvette Stingray. Arctic White w/Adrenaline Red interior convertible. Chrome wheels w/red disk brake covers. (Thank You to my husband!) He just sold my 1997 black Corvette that he'd gotten me, for our 1st Anniversary in 2002. We're in our late 60's and have not outgrown our love for an awesome car!

I would definitely buy a ZO6 over the Grand Sport. Of course they are more money but i dont think you can beat the price for a comparable car. We had a 2016 ZO6 come in to our dealership for consignment and i got lucky enough to drive it and i was blown away by the car not to mention that is my all time dream car. i always have loved Corvettes since a little boy and someday hope to own one, that being a Blue ZO6 with black rims and definitely gotta have the upgraded exhaust! i think that is all i would really want to do to it, Anyway thanks for sharing your beautiful ZO6 with the world and thanks for the uplifting channel, As always drive safe out there !!!!
The Z06 is defiantly a well built Corvette and something that every vette lover would love to have at some point in their life. Every time I drive it I am in awe of its power and its drive ability. The magnetic ride in a car like this makes the ride so smooth. Thank you for your feed back and comments.
I just attended the Corvette Owners School at Spring Mountain Motorsports Park near Las Vegas. One of the students had just bought a new GS and hence was using a GS at the school. After the first day I asked him what he thought of his car. After spending the day on the track with other GSs, Z51s and Z06s, his answer was, "I should have bought a Z06."
pkincy Thanks for the comment. If you buy a GS or Z51 you will think you have an amazing Vette but I always tell people don't test drive the Z06. It's power you normally never use but after driving a Z06 if you drive a GS or z51 you will think there is something wrong with it 😂😂. In 2016 and 2017 GM sold twice as many Z06's than they had planned on. Another huge reason why they're expanding the plant in Bowling Green. They sold 6,413 of them which made up 22% of sales that up by 10% vs 2015. The C7 has been a huge hit for GM.
I was convinced I wanted the Grand Sport because I determined that 650hp was too much for RWD; without even driving one.. I found a nice 2017 Grand Sport, put together a deal on it but noticed a leftover 2016 Z06 going for a great deal. I drove it and I loved the Supercharger and the extra power! I liked it so much I purchased a decked out 2017 Z06. I don't think the Z06 is any more squirrelly than the Grand Sport, you just need to be judicious with the accelerator in turns and straighten it up and give it the hammer (I do). If you have the money get the Z06!
Great comment Sir, I agree with all of that. The GS has its market for those who just feel uneasy with sitting in a car that has 650hp. Like you said the car is designed to control the power with this computers etc: but the driver has to learn when they can smash that gas and when they can't. Kevin C They need to allow people to just choose ceramic brakes and rotors as a package by itself but they force you to do the Z07 package that forces you to buy Cup 2 tires at 2,800 a full phase III arrow package at 3,500 as well. Cup 2 tires are useless unless your going to track the car because those are not tires you want to get caught in the rain with. So plan on buying 2,000 worth of supper Sport tires as well. Just my opinion on the subject. Thanks for your feedback.
Just purchased a 2019 GS on close out. First GM car in 40 years. Learned to drive on a 1966 Chev. Looking forward to getting the car next week. I like the channel and information provided.
I purchased my '16 Z06 right at the end of the year when dealer discounts and rebates were at its peak. My car was stickered at $93k, I got it for $76.1k. '17 GS's were priced higher, limited discounts and no rebates. I saw no reason to pay more money for less car. Just my opinion.
I agree with going for the Z06 if its priced that low. At the end of the year they are trying to push these things out the door and it shows you just how much mark up is in these bad boys.
Great video and beautiful car. I have a 2013 GS Torch Red and looking to send this to Lingenfelter to add a 670 package during the winter. Again, love what you have done to your ride.

Do you know if the 2017 Vettes or 2018 will have an upgrade on gauges. Whatever happened to the days American cars had 8 or 9 gauges... When, or if your transmission light or engine light comes on, its too late ...idiot lights and bar graphs is a recipe for costly repairs.

You are so right about the brake dust, I need to change my pads to ceramic like you did, I am also leaning toward the ACS splash guards over the GM but at this point in time I have not made a single mod to my Z06, have a great week !

I happened on your channel while researching the new GS. I have been in love with Vettes since I was young. I told my wife I would sell my motorcycle, if I put a Vette in the garage. I have an '02 C5 Convertible Electric Blue with a White top. When the Stingray was re-released in 2014, it set in motion a new goal. The 2017 GS is perfect. The Admiral Blue is amazing. Hi Chuck! I bought the grand sport for the exact reasons you explained. Its basically a Z06 without the horse power. 460 HP is plenty for me and the way I'm going to drive the car. Its awesome and i love it! Keep up the good work on the vlogs 👍
Since this one is old, just a quick question in case you see this. Let's consider the issue with the built in camber that causes excessive tire wear on the GS versus the Z06. Do they have the same issue? And does the Stingray have the same issues. I am still on the fence between GS and Stingray.
I really like those drone shots of the Z06. I bought 17' GS last August and have been loving every second I drive with it... when its not snowing here in Michigan. I do plan on doing a new exhaust system along with headers for my GS.
I am also waiting to see what the ZR1 is all about before I order my next vette. The Z06 is allot of fun to drive and if GM over reaches on the pricing of the ZR1 I won't think twice about staying with a Z06. Have blessed week and thanks for stopping by the channel.
I just purchased a 2017 GS with the Z06 package. I toyed with purchasing a Z06 and then the GS was introduced. I've always wanted a Vette and after several years of research and saving, I pulled the trigger. Like your Z06, my GS is black, however my interior is not red; went with black. Renaldo Dorsey Congratulations on your new GS, You will greatly enjoy the Carbon ceramic breakers and rotors. I wish GM would do away with the cup 2 tires on the Z07 package because they only last 7-10k miles and are not really tires most people should be driving on as they are simply racing slicks. The super sport tires are a really good tire and they should make those standard unless someone just orders the cup 2's. I knew itd was an X-Pipe but then you had to do it again. My cousin has a C7 Stingray that he's gotten up to around 550HP (headers, exhaust and cams). My cousin had me stand behind his while under a parking garage in OC MD, and with that X-Pipe plus Corsa ridiculous, yours sounds tamed on video (in person I'm sure a different story) but crazy. Job well done sir.

Hello, good video. Im a "young" 53 haha, Im wanting my first corvette GS, yet I made a mistake n bought a 2015 Harley softtail Breakout. Beautiful bike, rides like a pillow. 3 days after I bought the bike, I went to bike week in N.H. I went to the corvette dealer in Nashua. My jaw dropped with buyers remorse. Wished I bought the car , not the bike. (have to finance, and cant have both) 2019 GS Watkins Glen Gray, 2LT, Chrome wheels. I am "dying" to have this car!

I understand those priorities comes first. You can get some great deals on used Corvettes and save thousands and they are like new. I am from Sherman Tx been to Amarillo several times. Stay safe.
One thing that I’m finding is that there are many much more options that people get on the Z06 : including seats - and exterior then on the GS so if you’re buying used you’re better off to get Z06

Chuck, your vette is awesome, and your videos are great. I never thought I could swing it but in Dec with all those incentives plus corvette loyalty I traded my 09 base coupe for the new Grand Sport. I've sent the photos already but I'm in love with this car. Can't wait to take it to The Glen this summer. For me the GS will be easier to handle and have all the HP I'll need compared to the Z06. I couldn't afford that one either. The overheating issues concerned me a little too as I track at Summit Point, WV in July and its hot. People are eyeballing me all the time-all I have to say is: MADE IN AMERICA!!
Thank you for your kind words. Your GS is amazing and I am sure you are loving it as you should. The GS has more than enough power to showing you the performance of what that car can do. The overheating issues were corrected with the 2017 but I really don't know how much of an issue it really was with the 2015 or 2016. Mine never gets hot even when I ride it hard. I use a soft ware called ClipGrab and I take them from a youtube channel called Movie Clips. Its all about keeping it under 20 seconds or so. Its just a nice way to interject a little humor into the video's. 😂
Hi, I enjoy your channel. I will be sending a picture of my new 2018 ZO6. I enjoy driving a car with raw power and that is why I chose the ZO6 over the Grand Sport. My first corvette was a 1964 Black fuel injected Stingray convertible. I should have never sold it! In a previous video you said that a radar detector was one of your musts. I noticed in this video, when you showed the interior of your ZO6, that you still have a Max360. What do you think of the new Max360c? Or is the 360 still your choice? Also, men need their cars at any age.......LOL....
I purchased a 2017 spice read special addition grand sport Corvette. For several reasons I found it difficult to take care of the finish on the car. My son-in-lagw Owns a Ferrare g told me about a lot of the Ferrara's have their cars clear bra although it was expensive I decided to have the car completely clear Brady and it turnged out thatggg to be the best thing that I possibly could have done there were times that all I have to do is hoed down in car and wipe it down with the microfiber towel and it comes out. Pristine
If the Z06 has the Z07 package with the cup two tires and they are warm it will be hard to beat it on a track by any car. The Z06 with the supper sport tires is one fast car but until the tires get warm its hard to keep it from fish telling when getting on it. The GS with the 465 HP you can get on it and its not enough to get you sideways like the 650 in the Z06 will. Now once the tires on the Z06 are warm the GS of course has no chance. 😂😂
Handling is slightly better in the GS because it's lighter. It's basically the same car, but lighter and therefore can generate more g's. Probably negligible to most people.
Here in CA GS is exempt from the "Gas Guzzler" tax bracket, where the ZO6 and I do believe that the ZR1 are included. Very cool video and quality, good job Big C!

You can get a great deal on new ones at the moment but I am sure you find some steels on used ones. If you go used look to buy one from an individual not a dealership. Will be well maintained.
Love the videos. Just upgraded from a 2005 C6 to the 2017 Grand Sport. I loved the way my C6 rode but the new Grand Sport is worlds apart from it. BTW...Love your car!

It comes down to being honest with yourself and what your going to use the car for. I owned a C7 ZO6 and a C6 ZR1 and found that I never used the power every time a mustang or WRX pulled up revving there engine I just ignored them for fear of wrecking the car or getting a ticket and watching my insurance sky rocket I just bought a 2017 Grand Sport fully loaded 3LT with ZO7 package for the same price of a base ZO6 any corvette is great and no choice is bad but the majority of guys who own high hp cars never use the power for more than a fleeting moment its just bragging rights plus too what you half to remember is when cruising around the supercharger has a bypass valve and is not on boost so cruising around town you do not get the full 650 hp its essentially a LT1 off boost this is just my opinion what do you guys think?

On another note I would have to have the z06 just to have the baddest option, to know that know one with out serious mods can touch it! Worth every penny! Also got my z06 floor mats today! Great video. I have a 2002 C5 Corvette coupe with a manual trans, and love it. I'd love to get a Grand Sport eventually. As you said, I think that 460 hp is plenty for me, and of course I'd have to get the manual :) Love your Z06 all blacked out. Looks great!
I am a huge fan of the C5 Generation. Of course they were the last of the flip up head lights. If manual is what you enjoy defiantly want a GS with that in it. These new C7 vettes are an amazing experience and when that time comes for you it will be well worth the wait. Have a blessed weekend.
I see you got tint on your z06 is there a shade that you recommend because I like to tint my grand sport but I don't want to go to dark state law says nothing under 35 percent but I might go a little darker and by the way thanks for the info on the splash guards I did order them for my grand sport
In Oklahoma they really don't enforce tint because everyone has dark tint. I have 5% on everything but the front windshield which is 30% and its not to dark to see very well at night. I think 30% would work well for you if your in a part of the country that really enforces tint laws. Helps protect the inside of the car when ever its sitting out side for any amount of time. Glad I could help with the splash guards. They are easy to install and help allot.

Like the videos Chuck. Good information. I bought my first Corvette in 1987. Had one ever since. Love the looks of the Z06 just not the price. I love my Esclade better. Keep your starbucks card I can't take my Gun in there.
Corvettes 918 I got the 2017 Grand Sport and it's fun. I am thinking about putting a pro/supercharger on it for it to be on par with a Z06. Gonna modify it more after that too! My goal is to get it to 740 hp. What do you think? It will be fun to race stock Z06's on the highway and embarrass them😂. Gonna take it in this summer and change the interior a lot too. I picked the wrong color interior(gonna change it to yellow or blue) and forgot to add carbon fiber😂

They are making so many GS and Z06's that it's hurting their future values. I haven't done any major mods because I want to see that ZR1 first. The GS in the heritage package looks amazing for sure.

I have a c6 z06 snd love it!!! heads , cam, intake with billy boats exhaust and let me tell u.... whn i pulltn a gas station it shakes the over hang and typically draws a crowd!!!

PR KING have had several cars with manual but went with the A8 because they shift much faster than I could making the car even faster. Over 80% of Corvettes made are A8 now days.

Hello Chuck, just subscribed to your channel. I have watched your videos before and want you to know I enjoy everyone of them. They are very informative and fun to watch. Your vette is absolutely Beautiful. I have a 2015 stingray and love it to pieces. I too had a Mustang GT CS (2011) and once I drove a corvette I was sold. I bought a 2012 first and when the stingray came out that was it I had to have one. I noticed in your video that it did not look like your back wing windows were tinted. It might just be the way the light was hitting it but if there not I would consider having it done. I actually had mine tinted along with a 60% tint on the windshield. I am having a front splitter and side skirts put on Thursday so when they are on I will send you a picture of mine. Thanks for your videos they are great to watch.
Thank you so much Larry for subbing to the channel. The back wing windows are tinted at 5%. like the side windows and rear hatch. The front has 35% on it. That window is so small and the window is pretty small. I did just ran down there and look at it because I never thought out it. Great eye. Chuck, your comments about the Z06 vs. the LT1 based vettes are true. Unless you're a track guy, the power is not fully used. However, having some interaction with other C7's from vette clubbers, there is something special about the Z06. Along with the ZR1, it's the king. People notice that it's special. It gets the attention. It sounds different, even as stock. And it's awful fun knowing you own the most powerful production car in GM history (at the time). Also, from an investment standpoint, if you want one that will hold its value and collectibility long term, it's the Z06. I hope to keep mine for a long time and let my son reap the benefits some day! Take care.
Great comment Mike. I do agree, the Z06 and Zr1 gets all the prestige no doubt. People who love corvettes look at the badging on the side first and it tell them all they need to know about that car. Owning a Z06 many people talk about how how they want to trade up to get one in the future. For me in owning one for the past year I just never use the power. It is great like you said for resale. The average people on the street just see the car as corvette and slobber over it 😂😂 Again, thanks for your comment.

+Lee Milanes The Z06 is way beyond the GT350 I use to own a GT Premium and a friend has. GT350 and the cars are night and day in performance. If you want something fast and causes your eyes to tear up when you slam on the gas go with a Z06 with the A8 auto if you want more of an experience then go M7. Get the carbon ceramic break package if you don’t get the Z07 package well worth the money.
I am just hopping they don't do the same thing as they did with he ZR1 1LE and make it strictly a race car. Now if the ZR1 comes out with 800hp and it has all the same options as the Z06 in regards to the inside of the car then yes that car will sale but if its bare bones on the inside and more for tracking the car then it will not be a high end production car. It's going to be sick either way but maybe not as appealing to the masses like the Z06. Thanks for the comment.

I've watched your videos before and liked the content. We even had a back and forth about a month ago or so. I truly agree. Us men need a "CAR/TOY" when we hit 40. I'm 36 and want a C7 Corvette so bad. I've wanted one since I was 8. I mentioned a couple months ago that I kind of got the "VIPER" interest but came back to me being 8 years old and how bad that 8 year old wanted a Corvette. I've come back to the Corvette even more now because I see my son, who is 6 1/2 saying "Daddies favorite car is a Corvette ZO6." My soon to be 5 year old daughter says the same thing...LOL.
You actually seem like a nice person. If I had a Corvette I would invite you to Michigan to experience the Woodward Dream Cruise. For a car guy it should be a bucket list thing, to say the least.

Hanson Fam I remember that conversation we had. GM hit a homer in when they came out with the C7. It took the corvette to a whole new level and experience for the driver. This weekend My wife and I had it out with the top off and there is nothing like it. She doesn't like to go fast so I just cruise when she is with me. A guy pulled up next to me in a dodge Hellcat and was revving his engine and he said you want to go. I said sorry my wife's with me she then said is that a fast car and I said yes, she said then show me what this car can do. From a 40 mph roll we counted to 3 and honked and we were off. It wasn't even close. The Z06 took off like it was shot from a cannon. After hitting a speed I won't mention here I slowed down. The hell cat caught up and the driver said wow, I had no clue the Z06 had that kind of get up and go. It is a car that demands all of your respect because of its ability but it is so well built and its technology you never feel out of control even bat high speeds. I remember when I was in my later 30's I got my First Corvette a 2006 C6 Convertible with 2k miles on it. This was in 2007 and I had ALWAYS wanted a Corvette!
You can definitely put me in the category of "middle aged guy buying a sports car". Haha. My stepdad had a white 1975 Stingray & I swore that i would own one someday cuz they're just so damn cool. So I finally bought my first used Corvette when I turned 40 (6 yrs ago) & despite having to fix several mechanical problems over the yrs (It's a 1998 C5 with 100,000 miles on it after all), i'm still really glad that I bought it. It's plenty fast enuff to satisfy my needs, handles well, is a beautiful light blue color & as any Vette owner knows... it turns heads where ever I go. I kinda know how a movie star or a beautiful woman feels now. Haha. Ppl also can't believe me when I tell them that it's 19 yrs old cuz it looks almost new. But I baby it as if my life depended on it so i guess that makes sense.
Anyway, i'd luv to buy one of these C7's someday cuz there so frickin' awesome but it's gonna be really hard to let go of my baby. So maybe i'll just have 2 corvettes someday. ;-)

As a guy who tracks his Grand Sport I can tell you unless you have very deep pockets you can keep those carbon brakes. Technology has caught up and a good set of pads and the stock Brembo set up is excellent. Carbon wears faster and replacement costs are insane. I have a friend with a Z28 who dumped his carbon for a good iron setup.
I just bought a 2017 Grand Sport. I got the admiral blue, 2lt and heritage package. its my first corvette and loving it. only has 157 miles on it right now. i get positive comments on it every time i take it out, its a real head turner!!!
Brian Hooper I really love the GS and putting it in the Z06 body was a great idea by GM. The Admiral Blue was the post popular new color sold this past year. It's an amazing looking car. Now make sure you drive it and often. 😂😂 all kidding aside congratulations on getting the car. 007mrmrbig my Z06 gets 26-28 HWY and 18 in town. Pretty good gas mileage for a racing car of that caliber. I would t go with GS because you think it has better gas mileage. Yet again when you are buying a $70K or more car your not really worried about gas 😂😂

007mrmrbig depending on how many miles your driving per day. If it's mainly HWY then for sure if your doing 30-40 miles a day. That means no racing anyone 😂

Chrome wheels w/red disk brake covers. (Thank You to my husband!) He just sold my 1997 black Corvette that he'd gotten me, for our 1st Anniversary in 2002. We're in our late 60's and have not outgrown our love for an awesome car!

I would definitely buy a ZO6 over the Grand Sport. Of course they are more money but i dont think you can beat the price for a comparable car. We had a 2016 ZO6 come in to our dealership for consignment and i got lucky enough to drive it and i was blown away by the car not to mention that is my all time dream car. i always have loved Corvettes since a little boy and someday hope to own one, that being a Blue ZO6 with black rims and definitely gotta have the upgraded exhaust! i think that is all i would really want to do to it, Anyway thanks for sharing your beautiful ZO6 with the world and thanks for the uplifting channel, As always drive safe out there !!!!
The Z06 is defiantly a well built Corvette and something that every vette lover would love to have at some point in their life. Every time I drive it I am in awe of its power and its drive ability. I just attended the Corvette Owners School at Spring Mountain Motorsports Park near Las Vegas. One of the students had just bought a new GS and hence was using a GS at the school. After the first day I asked him what he thought of his car. After spending the day on the track with other GSs, Z51s and Z06s, his answer was, "I should have bought a Z06."
pkincy Thanks for the comment. If you buy a GS or Z51 you will think you have an amazing Vette but I always tell people don't test drive the Z06. It's power you normally never use but after driving a Z06 if you drive a GS or z51 you will think there is something wrong with it 😂😂. In 2016 and 2017 GM sold twice as many Z06's than they had planned on. Another huge reason why they're expanding the plant in Bowling Green. They sold 6,413 of them which made up 22% of sales that up by 10% vs 2015. The C7 has been a huge hit for GM.
I was convinced I wanted the Grand Sport because I determined that 650hp was too much for RWD; without even driving one..
I found a nice 2017 Grand Sport, put together a deal on it but noticed a leftover 2016 Z06 going for a great deal. I drove it and I loved the Supercharger and the extra power! I liked it so much I purchased a decked out 2017 Z06.
I don't think the Z06 is any more squirrelly than the Grand Sport, you just need to be judicious with the accelerator in turns and straighten it up and give it the hammer (I do).
If you have the money get the Z06!
Great comment Sir, I agree with all of that. The GS has its market for those who just feel uneasy with sitting in a car that has 650hp. Like you said the car is designed to control the power with this computers etc: but the driver has to learn when they can smash that gas and when they can't. That's why they give you an option to have ceramic brakes or not to keep the cost down
Kevin C They need to allow people to just choose ceramic brakes and rotors as a package by itself but they force you to do the Z07 package that forces you to buy Cup 2 tires at 2,800 a full phase III arrow package at 3,500 as well. Cup 2 tires are useless unless your going to track the car because those are not tires you want to get caught in the rain with. So plan on buying 2,000 worth of supper Sport tires as well. Just my opinion on the subject. Thanks for your feedback.
Just purchased a 2019 GS on close out. First GM car in 40 years. Learned to drive on a 1966 Chev. Looking forward to getting the car next week. I like the channel and information provided.
I purchased my '16 Z06 right at the end of the year when dealer discounts and rebates were at its peak. My car was stickered at $93k, I got it for $76.1k. '17 GS's were priced higher, limited discounts and no rebates. I saw no reason to pay more money for less car. Just my opinion.
I agree with going for the Z06 if its priced that low. At the end of the year they are trying to push these things out the door and it shows you just how much mark up is in these bad boys.

Do you know if the 2017 Vettes or 2018 will have an upgrade on gauges. Whatever happened to the days American cars had 8 or 9 gauges... When, or if your transmission light or engine light comes on, its too late ...idiot lights and bar graphs is a recipe for costly repairs.

That was a collectors edition GS. They only made like 975 of them for the 2017 year. They will not be making them in the future.

I happened on your channel while researching the new GS. I have been in love with Vettes since I was young. I told my wife I would sell my motorcycle, if I put a Vette in the garage. I have an '02 C5 Convertible Electric Blue with a White top. When the Stingray was re-released in 2014, it set in motion a new goal. The 2017 GS is perfect. The Admiral Blue is amazing. I bought the grand sport for the exact reasons you explained. Its basically a Z06 without the horse power. 460 HP is plenty for me and the way I'm going to drive the car. Its awesome and i love it! Keep up the good work on the vlogs 👍
Since this one is old, just a quick question in case you see this. Let's consider the issue with the built in camber that causes excessive tire wear on the GS versus the Z06. Do they have the same issue? And does the Stingray have the same issues. I am still on the fence between GS and Stingray.
I really like those drone shots of the Z06. I bought 17' GS last August and have been loving every second I drive with it... when its not snowing here in Michigan. I do plan on doing a new exhaust system along with headers for my GS.
I'm 40 and waiting for the ZR1. I need that in my life. And I love the black with red interior.

I just purchased a 2017 GS with the Z06 package. I toyed with purchasing a Z06 and then the GS was introduced. I've always wanted a Vette and after several years of research and saving, I pulled the trigger. Like your Z06, my GS is black, however my interior is not red; went with black. I wish GM would do away with the cup 2 tires on the Z07 package because they only last 7-10k miles and are not really tires most people should be driving on as they are simply racing slicks. The super sport tires are a really good tire and they should make those standard unless someone just orders the cup 2's. I knew itd was an X-Pipe but then you had to do it again. My cousin has a C7 Stingray that he's gotten up to around 550HP (headers, exhaust and cams).
My cousin had me stand behind his while under a parking garage in OC MD, and with that X-Pipe plus Corsa ridiculous, yours sounds tamed on video (in person I'm sure a different story) but crazy. Job well done sir.

Hello, good video. Im a "young" 53 haha, Im wanting my first corvette GS, yet I made a mistake n bought a 2015 Harley softtail Breakout. Beautiful bike, rides like a pillow. 3 days after I bought the bike, I went to bike week in N.H. I went to the corvette dealer in Nashua. My jaw dropped with buyers remorse. Wished I bought the car , not the bike. (have to finance, and cant have both) 2019 GS Watkins Glen Gray, 2LT, Chrome wheels. I am "dying" to have this car!

I understand those priorities comes first. You can get some great deals on used Corvettes and save thousands and they are like new. I am from Sherman Tx been to Amarillo several times. Stay safe.
One thing that I’m finding is that there are many much more options that people get on the Z06 : including seats - and exterior then on the GS so if you’re buying used you’re better off to get Z06

Chuck, your vette is awesome, and your videos are great. I never thought I could swing it but in Dec with all those incentives plus corvette loyalty I traded my 09 base coupe for the new Grand Sport. I've sent the photos already but I'm in love with this car. Can't wait to take it to The Glen this summer. For me the GS will be easier to handle and have all the HP I'll need compared to the Z06. I couldn't afford that one either. The overheating issues concerned me a little too as I track at Summit Point, WV in July and its hot. People are eyeballing me all the time-all I have to say is:

I use a soft ware called ClipGrab and I take them from a youtube channel called Movie Clips. Its all about keeping it under 20 seconds or so. Its just a nice way to interject a little humor into the video's. 😂

Hi, I enjoy your channel. I will be sending a picture of my new 2018 ZO6. I enjoy driving a car with raw power and that is why I chose the ZO6 over the Grand Sport. My first corvette was a 1964 Black fuel injected Stingray convertible. I should have never sold it! In a previous video you said that a radar detector was one of your musts. I noticed in this video, when you showed the interior of your ZO6, that you still have a Max360. What do you think of the new Max360c? Or is the 360 still your choice? Also, men need their cars at any age.......LOL....

Ferrare g told me about a lot of the Ferrara's have their cars clear bra although it was expensive I decided to have the car completely clear Brady and it turnged out thatggg to be the best thing that I possibly could have done there were times that all I have to do is hoed down in car and wipe it down with the microfiber towel and it comes out.

Drove a z06 yesterday, what an awesome car and the power is violent.
I agree the power is crazy hard to believe its a street legal car.
does the GS actually handle better than the Z06? I keep hearing how "hooked-up" the GS is, and the Z was not... your thoughts?
If the Z06 has the Z07 package with the cup two tires and they are warm it will be hard to beat it on a track by any car. The Z06 with the supper sport tires is one fast car but until the tires get warm its hard to keep it from fish telling when getting on it. The GS with the 465 HP you can get on it and its not enough to get you sideways like the 650 in the Z06 will. Now once the tires on the Z06 are warm the GS of course has no chance. 😂😂
Handling is slightly better in the GS because it's lighter. It's basically the same car, but lighter and therefore can generate more g's. Probably negligible to most people.
The seats look very comfortable what ones are they please ???
Trying to decide between getting a Z06 or ZR1
Something tell me the ZR1 is going to be sick but a total track car and may not be the best car for cruising on the open road but we shall see.

Here in CA GS is exempt from the "Gas Guzzler" tax bracket, where the ZO6 and I do believe that the ZR1 are included. Very cool video and quality, good job Big C!

You can get a great deal on new ones at the moment but I am sure you find some steels on used ones. If you go used look to buy one from an individual not a dealership. Will be well maintained.
Love the videos. Just upgraded from a 2005 C6 to the 2017 Grand Sport. I loved the way my C6 rode but the new Grand Sport is worlds apart from it. BTW...Love your car!

It comes down to being honest with yourself and what your going to use the car for. I owned a C7 ZO6 and a C6 ZR1 and found that I never used the power every time a mustang or WRX pulled up revving there engine I just ignored them for fear of wrecking the car or getting a ticket and watching my insurance sky rocket I just bought a 2017 Grand Sport fully loaded 3LT with ZO7 package for the same price of a base ZO6 any corvette is great and no choice is bad but the majority of guys who own high hp cars never use the power for more than a fleeting moment its just bragging rights plus too what you half to remember is when cruising around the supercharger has a bypass valve and is not on boost so cruising around town you do not get the full 650 hp its essentially a LT1 off boost this is just my opinion what do you guys think?

On another note I would have to have the z06 just to have the baddest option, to know that know one with out serious mods can touch it! Worth every penny! Also got my z06 floor mats today! Great video. I have a 2002 C5 Corvette coupe with a manual trans, and love it. I'd love to get a Grand Sport eventually. As you said, I think that 460 hp is plenty for me, and of course I'd have to get the manual :) Love your Z06 all blacked out. Looks great!
I am a huge fan of the C5 Generation. Of course they were the last of the flip up head lights. If manual is what you enjoy defiantly want a GS with that in it. These new C7 vettes are an amazing experience and when that time comes for you it will be well worth the wait. Have a blessed weekend.

I see you got tint on your z06 is there a shade that you recommend because I like to tint my grand sport but I don't want to go to dark state law says nothing under 35 percent but I might go a little darker and by the way thanks for the info on the splash guards I did order them for my grand sport
In Oklahoma they really don't enforce tint because everyone has dark tint. I have 5% on everything but the front windshield which is 30% and its not to dark to see very well at night. I think 30% would work well for you if your in a part of the country that really enforces tint laws. Helps protect the inside of the car when ever its sitting out side for any amount of time. Glad I could help with the splash guards. They are easy to install and help allot.

Corvettes 918 I got the 2017 Grand Sport and it's fun. I am thinking about putting a pro/supercharger on it for it to be on par with a Z06. Gonna modify it more after that too! My goal is to get it to 740 hp. What do you think? It will be fun to race stock Z06's on the highway and embarrass them😂. Gonna take it in this summer and change the interior a lot too. I picked the wrong color interior(gonna change it to yellow or blue) and forgot to add carbon fiber😂
Budder Lover3388 If you think it's going to be a car your going to keep for a long time I say mod that baby out. Mods are just money you never get back. They are making so many GS and Z06's that it's hurting their future values. I haven't done any major mods because I want to see that ZR1 first. The GS in the heritage package looks amazing for sure.

I have a c6 z06 snd love it!!! heads , cam, intake with billy boats exhaust and let me tell u.... whn i pulltn a gas station it shakes the over hang and typically draws a crowd!!!

PR KING have had several cars with manual but went with the A8 because they shift much faster than I could making the car even faster. Over 80% of Corvettes made are A8 now days.

I bought a focus just to have a car, I really dislike it!!! There are many things I dislike about my money pit car! Don't get me wrong, I have upgraded every imaginable part (did all the work myself!!!) I upgraded it for reliability & better performance (as if it has any) it is slow!!! I went with the 2017 camaro ss over the corvette it has the same engine lt1. Would get a corvette down the road for sure they don't disappoint
My golfing buddy has a new 2017 SS great looking cars. He got the blue and it looks amazing. Of course I am more bias towards the corvettes but the Chevy has done a great job on the 6th gen camero
I started out with the Camaro 2SS white with black stripes loved it, until I got a 2019 Z06 night and day difference.
You will never regret moving up to the Z06

Hello Chuck, just subscribed to your channel. I have watched your videos before and want you to know I enjoy everyone of them. They are very informative and fun to watch. Your vette is absolutely Beautiful. I have a 2015 stingray and love it to pieces.
I too had a Mustang GT CS (2011) and once I drove a corvette I was sold. I bought a 2012 first and when the stingray came out that was it I had to have one. I noticed in your video that it did not look like your back wing windows were tinted. It might just be the way the light was hitting it but if there not I would consider having it done. I actually had mine tinted along with a 60% tint on the windshield. I am having a front splitter and side skirts put on Thursday so when they are on I will send you a picture of mine.

Thank you so much Larry for subbing to the channel. The back wing windows are tinted at 5%. like the side windows and rear hatch. The front has 35% on it. That window is so small and the window is pretty small. I did just ran down there and look at it because I never thought out it. Great eye. The front splitter and side skirts will change the look of the car and makes it look more aggress. I think your really going to like it. Again, thanks for watching and we will see you next Saturday.
Chuck, your comments about the Z06 vs. the LT1 based vettes are true. Unless you're a track guy, the power is not fully used. However, having some interaction with other C7's from vette clubbers, there is something special about the Z06. Along with the ZR1, it's the king. People notice that it's special. It gets the attention. It sounds different, even as stock. And it's awful fun knowing you own the most powerful production car in GM history (at the time). Also, from an investment standpoint, if you want one that will hold its value and collectibility long term, it's the Z06. I hope to keep mine for a long time and let my son reap the benefits some day! Take care.
Great comment Mike. I do agree, the Z06 and Zr1 gets all the prestige no doubt. People who love corvettes look at the badging on the side first and it tell them all they need to know about that car. Owning a Z06 many people talk about how how they want to trade up to get one in the future. For me in owning one for the past year I just never use the power. It is great like you said for resale. The average people on the street just see the car as corvette and slobber over it 😂😂 Again, thanks for your comment.

+Lee Milanes The Z06 is way beyond the GT350 I use to own a GT Premium and a friend has. GT350 and the cars are night and day in performance. If you want something fast and causes your eyes to tear up when you slam on the gas go with a Z06 with the A8 auto if you want more of an experience then go M7. Get the carbon ceramic break package if you don’t get the Z07 package well worth the money.

I am just hopping they don't do the same thing as they did with he ZR1 1LE and make it strictly a race car. Now if the ZR1 comes out with 800hp and it has all the same options as the Z06 in regards to the inside of the car then yes that car will sale but if its bare bones on the inside and more for tracking the car then it will not be a high end production car. It's going to be sick either way but maybe not as appealing to the masses like the Z06. Thanks for the comment.
