Sammy hagar is one of the few guys that sounds just as good live if not better. Truly one of the most talented singers of all time.
Couldn’t agree more! People say Dave was the voice of VH but honestly Sammy brought way more talent and singing skills by far especially live performances!

Actually Eddie was pissed they were out of tune at parts of this concert so Sammy’s vocals were re-recorded in the studio, as well as guitar/drum parts. However, Sammy was a hell of a live singer back then, he wasn’t happy he had to redo his vocals.
Van Halen ... No big stage show or fancy lights, but still one of the most enjoyable, entertaining bands of all time

Michael Anthony and Paul McCartney are the two most underrated rock bass players in RnR history. Forget the bass solo. He was great throughout the whole concert.
it's funny that I should run across this comment. as I was just thinking about that same thing... maybe not Paul. but definitely Michael. VH was my fave band for YEARS but I never thought MA was all that... then I saw them live, 3, 4 times (all post DLR) and that changed everything. he's a hella good player, musician, and from what I understand, have seen in his continued career/ relationship with Sammy... a seriously nice dude. so yeah. long winded plus one ++

Many people saying this concert is not 'live' because 'edited' in studio. What's your opinion, it's sounds similar than was live or fake?
This was filmed over the course of a couple different concerts- one of them was CHICAGO which I was at. It was amazing and I’ll never forget it. I have the original VHS tapes that were released as part of the RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW tour.

Sammy says all vocal tracks were edited, re-recorded and doctored in the studio. As a retaliation, the Dutch-born brothers decided not to speak to Sammy anymore, not to play any of their songs worked with Sammy, not to exchange text messages, phone calls of any kind, etc.

You’re comparing apples to orange’s. From 78 to 84 DLR was with out a doubt the best front man of any rock band. Big Sammy fan, no doubt he’s a better singer. Saw them both live best concert ever was FW tour. Van Hager was good but Van Halen was raunchy & kick ass! RIP EVH! Miss you

@@1leech that is in correct. Sammy didn’t want to be a cover band and refused to do Roth songs other then the most popular. It’s in his autobiography Red, check it out there’s a whole chapter in it.

I thought that Sammy Hagar and David Lee Roth were both great frontmen but the group was about Eddie, Alex, and Mikey they were the driving force of Van Halen.

Two badass songs! Wish I had a chance to see them on OU812 or UCK tour, sigh. Saw them on 5150 tour and they weren’t near as kickass as they were on this video. Guessing chemistry & lack of original songs muted their performance.

This is a great song (cabo wabo) and a great performance but i call total bullshit on the backing vocals. They are way too clean. Sounds like they edited in the studio backing vocals. I know, Mike is a great singer and can hit all the notes but just listen to how clean and polished the backing is on this cut. It's just too clean. Besides, they knew all along this was getting released as an album. It has to sound good.
The entire band re-recorded their parts in the studio. The audio was matched to the live video footage. Hagar admits to it in his book.
