I bought one of these a few months ago to replace a mechanical Logitech G513. The pre lubed switches are lovely and the layout is perfect for me even though I was a skeptic of this size for a while. It's no nonsense and a nice way in to this type of 'custom' style keyboard with hot swap/sound foam etc without diving headfirst into a proper build or one of the lesser known brands. I considered RoyalK and Wooting etc but this seemed a safe bet and so far no regrets. Yes, there is no RT, but I don't play competitively enough to really care. My only complaints really are that the keycaps aren't shine through, and I would have preferred a proper grey to this blueish hue - but overall it really is a huge step in the right direction from a big brand (Razer also seem to be going down this route too) and blows everything Logitech is doing out of the water, they really have fallen behind.
Beautiful to use when you have plenty of lights on but if you like having a dark room you can't read the letters. Ended up moving it from my gaming rig because couldnt see the letters. Would have been great if it had shine through caps.
Just confirming the following for your audience. I have opened the package (took your word). This keyboard is noticeably thockier in person than on videos. The drab appearance (shades of grey) of the keyboard shown on videos is actually far more pleasant in person: like slate slab. The keyboard is pleasant enough even with the RGB turned off. Was apprehensive about the linear switches for coding/productivity use; not a worry now. The multi-function knob-wheel is nifty (such use had not occurred to me). And the construction is solid. It does not feel like I'm missing out on other options (keyboards) that were also considered. Thanks for the reassurance, @TheProvokedPrawn.
It might not have RT but it's at least way better than the g pro x 60, so corsair has already one-upped logitech. 2:27 It's not exactly a TKL layout though, 75% is more accurate for this layout (which is why the name corsair gave it is really annoying).
I went from a K100 Full size Keyboard to this one and have really been loving it, quality feel and looks are awesome even if I'm still learning some of the function keys. All tho I wanted to try some of the custom lab stuff for it but I couldn't find anywhere on Corsair's website to get anything for it without getting the Keyboard but maybe they will offer it later for those who own the board already
Maybe an obvious question but I never rlly love Corsair keyboards because of how much ping they produce when typing. I didn’t really hear much of that during the sound test but can anyone confirm is it super noticeable in person when using it? Thanks everyone
The layout is awkward for programming. I always look for the vertical bar on the right. Since I have to switch keyboards a lot, keys have to be in the right place
My preferred board rn is a razer black widow v4 75% or a wooting 80he however they are both really expensive. But at £100 on amazon this board is a steal
The one and only thing about this keyboard that truly bugs me is that the keycaps it comes with no shine through for the RGB, unlike most of Razers keyboards. Helps when you’re playing in a low light environment. Just means that I’ve had to buy extra Razer keycaps which will hopefully help.
So glad Provoked Prawn has finally appeared on a video. Think he's only appeared as a prawn or a lobster before. So relieved he's a pleasant chap in real life rather than a provoked pincher.
@@TheProvokedPrawn Yes, but most other keyboard reviewers talk to the camera. But I understand that you intend to focus on the subject (not the speaker/reviewer). Just the same, glad you are really not a scary prawn. Btw, I have one of these K65+ in front of me now. I'm about to unseal it, but I'm also thinking about the Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro TKL & the Logitech G515 wireless TKL. I'm hesitating to unseal the box because I do not want to waste a brand new product (K65+) by returning it for some other option. Let me know if you have a take (an opinion) on this.
I have one. I came to moan about mine, unfortunately. Namely regarding the lack of onboard memory...for some reason it's disconnecting all the time, and the only way I could mitigate that is by keeping it on the same profile by using onboard memory, which unlike the k70 or k100, it does not have.
There's even more innovation coming with Rappy Snappy from Wooting. Which I think is great. As it should make the other brands sit up and take notice. But yes, they do seem to be taking their time in doing so.
Hey Gary, I highly rated the G915 TKL for a long time (see here for why ruclips.net/video/ZqgZCZCZZHk/видео.html) but this Corsair keyboard is probably better for the customisation options. You can swap the switches and keycaps easily which you can't do on the G915. The black version of the G915 also has completely worn out lettering now (which in fairness is two years later basically) while the K65 has pbt keycaps which shouldn't suffer from that. That said I like low profile a lot as I find it more comfortable and if that's a factor then the G915 wins there. Battery life is superb on both.
It's seem to be the cousin of the Epomaker TH80 SE that cost half of the price. For me the Epomaker is a better well done keyboard as the Corsair for thje price.
Wooting for me at the moment. Loving my 60HE and have the 80HE on order. I couldn't see the Wooting reviewed on your channel. You should try and get one for review? Also, have a good life. :)
I think because the Wooting 60HE is $180 that it really destroys the rest of the keyboard market. At $160, the Corsair K65 Plus Wireless might be nice with hot swap switches, that's all too common with keyboards $100 or less these days. Wireless is moot with a keyboard because it's not really moving on your desk (unlike a mouse). Corsair needs to drop this down to $100 at most.
Not meaning to come off as rude but it’s hard to take a man in your position seriously when your content depends on getting free demo products sent to you, allowing you to make content. I almost never hear you give thumbs down or talk negative about these products and I thinks it’s because your desperate to stay within the company’s good graces so they continue to send you the products at no expense to you?
Someone else said the same but that's entirely wrong. I've said plenty bad about Razer headsets. I criticised Corsair's 6500 and 2500 cases. I am happy to talk about the negatives, I just happen to really like this keyboard. 🤷🏼♂️ And it doesn't depend on companies entirely. I've bought multiple things lately that I'm making content on. The Asrock motherboard, two Asus motherboards, a gigabyte motherboard, a Lofree mouse and keyboard. Your comment is just wrong tbh.

The Azoth sounds wayyyy better with the thock and keystrokes. I honestly don’t think any corsair keyboard comes close. They have a few good mice. But besides maybe a few chassis, and RAM sticks..corsair has so little to desire when it comes to putting together a dream pc. Why they can’t come up with a motherboard, and a gpu is just beyond me. I got the dominator ram which I do love, and their mini nanoleaf rgb lights. But besides that I have a hard time endorsing any of their overpriced products. They are actually worse than Asus in that regard. I really do like that desk that they sell but to make it worth it, it has to be all decked out and costs like $1500….for a friggen desk! They have that bendable monitor which was basically obsolete upon its release and extremely overpriced. I do consider myself a Corsair fan but they have a lot of work to do. They don’t offer enough and using their products mostly cause headaches dealing with multiple apps that like to crash if you aren’t sure what your doing. I “almost” ended up getting their Icue5000T chassis and going all out with everything they have to offer but I’m so glad I decided not to go that route. Lian Li/Asus for the win.
@@OGHawkeye keyboards are a very subjective thing in terms of sound and feel, and also as someone who has had both corsair and asus products, I CAN NOT STAND armoury crate compared to iCue. I'll also disagree on the mice part, I think corsair have SHITTY mice across the board.
