This is the first van conversion I could actually see myself living in! You guys did an amazing job and I love how hidden the toilet is.

Beautiful built! A bit too little natural light if the doors is closed in my opinion and it definitely lacks the shower but its really cozy. Love it.

Beautiful van! I have one question... How hot is it when you sleep at night? I’m looking to doing something similar to what you guys have done but I live in south Texas and it gets hot!

Thank you! 🙏 We tend to chase temperate weather and altitude! That seems to do the trick for us! We have a portable AC unit but have yet to use it. I believe if we were to be in south GA in the heart of summer we would most definitely need an AC 😂 Our mattress is super comfy and the two Maxxfan’s create a great airflow for us! We also have the little bedside fan that we can direct to any position which is a game changer!

Very nice! It sounds like you designed it and then contracted out the elements to various vendors/contractors. How much of the work did you do yourselves and how did the over build costs compare to just having one outfit do the entire build?
Hi Vickie! Thank you! I would say we did about 40% of it ourselves. Design, rust protection to the metal , sound deadening, wool insulation and rough wiring were all things we handled. Contracting out the other things helped free up our schedule but it was more expensive to do it that way. So we tried to do a little of both!
@Megan and Kyle I love that you guys had a balance of tasks you did and then others did, I may end up doing it that way - especially for the things I care about being done well but am not the best at (electricals, for example)

It's good to know that a 5'11 can sleep sideways here, even with the "sacrifice" :-) Can you tell us though what exactly is your bed dimensions and did you have your mattress customed?

Love Ur van. The alarm for propane is a good idea. Does that hole vent for propane have a screen to prevent insects from crawling in?

Hi Eben! Thank you! Yes, we have a heater located under the passenger seat and it has been clutch during those chilly nights. And the conversion was between 40-50k.

Great build, layout and design! Have you provided any info on the ballpark price of the conversion. This is very similar to what I've been looking to do myself - and I'm not that handy so will be working with a builder. thanks!

I am looking for a "camping" van that is strong enough to pull my horse trailer. Because of the added tongue weight of the trailer, it is hard to find the right van.
They should make different colors of those storage bags for clothes. Then you would know what was in them by color.
