    This is one of my favorite builds. I wouldn't physically be able to make the bed like that every day, so I would get a hydraulic bed. Then, the seating area could be a guest bed if I ever had company. I just love everything about this build and all the design elements.

    I love that 6" shelf. Imagine if you could pull it out like those pantry shelves everyone is doing

    • @twowanderingsoles
      @twowanderingsoles  6 месяцев назад

      Yeah, pull out shelf’s would be nice but so much more involved than just bungee cords. And then you need to think about to to keep them from sliding open.

    The backsplash looks amazing! I absolutely love this kitchen. It looks so warm and inviting. This kitchen would definitely help motivate me to want to cook more. I do love cooking, but standing is very painful. I feel like this kitchen would be a wonderful distraction from the pain.

    Out of so many van videos I watch, I always look to see where they have their fire extinguisher. Many don’t have one, some have it in the garage, but yours is up front. I like that

    Clever workaround for the butcher block counter! You may have overlooked that your propane line can leak on the way to the cooktop. You should pick up a "normally off 12v valve" and put it right next to the propane tank on the line to your cooktop. Put the switch in a convenient spot in the kitchen. Turn it on to use the cooktop, shut it off when done and let it burn the fuel out of the line (5-6 seconds). If you have a car accident, there's then no chance the line can split open and catastrophically allow gas to flow. It could save your lives.

    • @twowanderingsoles
      @twowanderingsoles  3 года назад

      Hey B Miller, very important comment about the propane, and in fact we already have one in place! 😊 We have our 12V solenoid switch (normally off 12V valve) right after the tank regulator in the propane box. The switch is right next to all our other lights and electronic switches in the kitchen. Thanks so much for your comment, it's a very important for any van builder to have one of these install if they have propane in their van. Cheers!

    Nice looking table! I needed garage space for bikes and paddle boards so we went with a high fixed bed and garage underneath. That is the beauty of these van conversions, you can custom tailor it to fit your own needs.

    • @twowanderingsoles
      @twowanderingsoles  3 года назад

      Thank you!! 🙌🏼 We would have liked to have a fixed bed with a garage underneath, but with the short wheelbase it would have been tricky. We installed a hitch for our bike rack which has been nice to carry our mountain bikes along

      Hey Wendi! We don't have anything published yet about how we made the table, but if you check out our Instagram Story Highlight "Van Build", we show some more videos and tips on how we made the table. Here's that link: instagram.com/twowanderingsoles/
      Katie basically traced out the mountain range with a pencil and then went over it with a Dremel tool, then taped it off and then stained the "mountain" sides. I hope this helps, let me know if have any other questions!

    Very well done build. Loved the little pull out drying rack. Excellent idea. I would prefer no bed build every day so would opt for a bed full time. Gorgeous. Cudos!

      Thank you so much, Kathleen. Of course, having a fixed bed is ideal. We had this in our first campervan and loved it. But it does only take 3 minutes out of our morning and evening to make up the bed, so it's not too bad 😁 If we had a slightly longer van, we may have done a fixed bed.

    Congrats!!! Love your down to earth - hands on convention ! Well done
    Ps: Finely someone that put the fire extinguisher in a sensible plaice I always get a headache when I see it stuffed back in the least accessible corner of the van 😅

    Use toilet if dangerous to go outside. Gotta have a big mattress. Lovely build!

    Nice build and video! I like the design. Question: How do you allow the hot air from the propane water heater to vent outside? I have one of those heaters and I know it get dangerously hot above it. Also, stove top cooking vent? Just the ceiling vent for that, I guess? Thanks again for taking the time to do this video!

      Hey there! Great safety questions, very important. We typically only use the water heater when we shower out the back. When we do that, we prop up the bench seat and the back doors are open so it is well ventilated.
      And when using the stove we alway have the ceiling fan running.
