Love your van!! You did a Great job giving the tour, too! The music was gentle and not annoying and your tone was perfect. Also, you didn't talk too much. Lovely cozy van!
You'll love the Promaster! It drives so well, front wheel drive makes it feel like a normal car even though it's pretty big. Best of luck with your conversion!
Why do most people do a platform bed instead of a hydraulic bed? Is it just for the trunk area? A hydraulic bed is #1 on my list because it would be very difficult for me to have to convert a seating area to a bed every day, and I definitely want a large seating area. It would be my office and craft area.
Yeah for us it was the trunk, and coming home to a bed that was always made and immediately ready to get into was worth the space that you're missing during the day.
We are so in need of a 136 WB pro master just like this.... tough to find one as beautiful as this in this size!!! Could it be done with a low roof, I wonder?
@@travelingatlas I so know what you mean! And I totally agree.... I’m under 5 feet and shrinking daily.... lol. We are having difficulty finding vans in our area for sale that meet ‘hubby’s criteria’. If it was just me, I would have bought my high roof by now. His wants are completely different than mine. I’d buy a 159’ with a high roof and be on my adventurous way! 🤗🤗🤗🤗
I like the way you set up your van and that’s the set up by eventually would like to do. I know this might seem like a minor detail but where did you get your door mounted spice racks? Thanks, Joe
Thanks for the tour! Beautiful! How did you handle the license plate transition, between the purchase of the van and the actual window and bed installation?
I enjoyed your video. I am having a van like yours build for me. I am searching for a mattress. Did I miss it on your list? What brand of mattress did you buy? Thanks!
Thank you! I have added the mattress to the description but I'll also add it here: amzn.to/37HRLDf We like it because it's firm for a foam mattress, but to get some softness we threw a mattress topper on top and it's perfect. Best of luck to you with your build!
I added them to the description now but I'll also add them here: MAGZO Bug Screen (side door): amzn.to/2HtcgIW MAGZO Bug Screen (back door): amzn.to/3jryA2E Thank you!
Thank you!! If memory serves me correct, I believe I made them 12 inches high and 14 inches deep. The decision for depth was really just enough so our pots and pans would fit!
Hi new friends. Have clicked all your buttons and glad to be along for the adventure. Love your plan to visit all the national parks. We love the national parks and want to get to more of them!! Amazing job on the rebuild. Love the white inside to brighten up the space. We have some videos you may enjoy. Hope you can check them out.
The butcher block isn't light, but I think we saved a lot of weight by using peel and stick floor/tile, and also the shiplap for the walls was very light. It's all a balancing act, but these vans can handle more than you think they can.
Passenger plates allow you to drive on Parkways legally in New York state, the gas mileage I would estimate is around 16-18 MPG, and the van is 136" WB high top.
It's an RV replacement window, I wouldn't really recommend it - it's not really designed for a van. It's too thick, so we had to design a custom frame to put in between the inside of the van and the window to make it fit. It works great, but it wasn't easy.
One question How where you able to get a vehicle weight slip? In order to have it registered under passenger in NY, any modification that will alter its classification, it requires a weight slip. Im from NY and I’m curious as to where to get a weight slip when doing all the work yourself. This is one of the questions that has been in my head for a while now and when I do get a van I would like to have passenger plates on it. Thank you and sorry for the long question.
If I'm being honest, I think you're over thinking it. The used car dealership gave us passenger plates when we said we were going to convert it - then we just had to put a bed in and a passenger side window to make it legal.
We aren't sure about the actual weight, but I can tell you that after living in it full time for 2 months and driving over 10,000 miles that it's not too much weight - fuel efficiency is essentially the same as before the conversion and it makes it up hills no problem. Thanks for watching!
Honestly no idea. We drive it carefully because it's our home. It's not the fastest vehicle, but we don't have issues getting up to speed on the highway.
No hot water, we thought of putting it in but decided against it. Would have been nice for the shower, but it would have added complexity in the plumbing and propane lines.
If I wanted to live in a mousetrap complete with rats and roaches from 2 to 6 legs while paying a king's ransom for the privilege, I'd definitely move to NYC. Thus, comparing a custom build van with those places it's kinda low bar, I think.
Love your van!! You did a Great job giving the tour, too! The music was gentle and not annoying and your tone was perfect. Also, you didn't talk too much. Lovely cozy van!
Thanks so much! It was harder than you'd expect but I'm glad it came off well!
Love it...we have similar stories! :) Love what you guys did and I need that table!!!
Awesome! Thank you, yes the Lagun mount table is amazing, the versatility is unbeatable
Such a nice conversion. The colors are soothing and you have the comforts of home.
Thanks so much! We love our little home on wheels!
Your van is great. Thank you for your generosity and for all the details, I kept your video for inspiration. Bravo
Thank you for watching! If I can build it, anyone can - I had 0 experience before starting. Best of luck to you!
Light'n bright, small but spacious, with all the necessities ....well done !
Thanks so much!
Wow!! So nicely done! I'm looking at getting a pro master in spring so it's encouraging to see how nice your van turned out:)

Great build! Totally functional and cozy! Well done!
Thank you! That was the hope - it turned out better than we envisioned it would which is all you can really ask for!
It’s gorgeous you guys! Looking forward to seeing your journey.
Thank you so much!!
They did a great job on the Van guys, greetings
Thanks so much!!
A very impressive van build and an even better van tour. You two are naturals for RUclips.
A thumbs up 👍
Thanks so much! Really appreciate it! 🙌
Have fun and take care and take it easy and enjoy it

Thanks so much!
I like your van and the room its look like a real room in a house..
That was the idea! I'm glad you like it, thanks for watching!
When you’re done traveling perhaps you’ll come back to New York and begin to build bands there is such a need in this area for van builders
Not a bad idea! Definitely something to consider. It's such a big project though, I don't know if I could do it on a regular basis!
Love the exterior paint color and the interior is great!
Thanks so much!
Love ❤️ the backslash 😊
Lovely storage & home. Ur sink is as big as ours, we live in a 3 bed semi in UK.
Thanks! The sink is often tiny in vans but I don't know how people manage - we need every inch we have in this sink!

Thank you! The problem with the low roof is you might not be able to stand up in it anymore, which would be a real detriment.

We told the dealership our intention to put the bed and the window in and they gave us passenger plates. Super easy!
@@travelingatlas Thanks for your reply. And again, bravo! I just only found your channel and subscribed. 👍🏼👍🏼
👌👌but couldn’t take shower in city like your setup. Inside van !
You're not wrong about that! But space is limited in the 136" wheelbase, you pretty much have to have the 159" to have a shower inside
I see you guys route 195 in providence Rhode island 195

Nice! I have a similar except low roof. I’m 5’1” so it works for me. I need screens. Where did you get yours and are you happy with them?
If I remember they were Maglo (something like that?) Got them off Amazon and had to cut them to get them to fit correctly
Could you post a link to the side and rear screens? Nice build out BTW.
