Having been a visitor to the Philippines all I will say on the matter is people who haven't been are missing out on a gem. Roll on November when I'm back again! Genuinely the most friendliest and honest people I have met. On the subject though, I've been to North EDSA and Mall of Asia. Both decent places. Mabuhay po :)

i am glad you were able to see the gem from the murky water that surrounded it. you are right it is a gem and known as "the pearl of the orient seas", beautiful myriad pearls. fall is just around the corner. i wish you happy and fun times on your next visit to the philippines.

south china mall is virtually empty while SM NORTH EDSA as well as SM MEGAMALL have undergone expansion already, i think after those improvements they gone to a higher rank already, in fact SM NORTH EDSA has surpassed the size of SM MALL OF ASIA as the largest mall in the Philippines and SM MEGAMALL has added 30 to 40% of its original size after the expansion..
I am from Edmonton. Our mall is undergoing renovation as it's old and rusty now. If they ever want to retake the crown for biggest malll than they now have to up in floors and instead of outward.

Funny thing about the two SM malls (Megamall and North EDSA) is that they're even on the same street (EDSA) and not 50KM away from each other. And the Mall of Asia, whilst not on EDSA, is pretty close to it also. LOL!
@meany1023 Im American ive been to both, West Edmonton is a larger improved version of mall of america. Mall of America has 1 kiddie coaster. I think theres another, I just didnt ride it. Theres a submarine aquarium ride in the malls basement. A little bear ride thing that goes up and down. West Edmonton has a thrill rides,and kiddie rides. I rode Spaceshot .Been to there waterpark, saw there arcade, skated in the ice rink. MOA has a + tho moa is 5 floors tall, lot less walking.

They were often anchored by the local department store and had lots of more practical services like banks, grocery stores, post offices and hosted such events as formal dress balls, school proms, ect... Their design was alot more modest and classy too. No giant glass domes or blank white halls. The 80's are when malls started going down hill

dude it looks so easy to get lost in any one or those' but i can even get lost in Hilo, Hawaii's microscopic mall(if you blink when you drive by you'll miss it!) so it shouldn't be hard for me
It clearly says 'As of January 2009'. Currently it is indeed the largest shopping mall, but back then it wasn't. The South China mall that was largest in 2009 is closed now.

im a pinoy lives in LA... Shopping mall in Manila are the BEST... they have warehouse here thats why its big but can'y be compared.
