The pot of lava reminds me of how in medieval times there would be holes above doorways in some fortresses. These were so boiling water or oil could be poured onto attackers trying to smash through the doors, brutally killing or severely injuring them
Agreed it is for sure better than the King's Castle. I'm not completely blown away by it, but seeing as this has a bunch of good minifigures and a reasonably designed building, I prefer it over the mostly bland castle. I might be spoiled with current Castle designs, but this retailed for $50, which is a lot of money for a few figures and a small building. Out of all the sets in the Kingdom line, I wouldn't skip this one for sure, but it is probably a bit lower on my list of favorites.
I honestly think the Dragon Knights ultimate castle would be more akin to a gothic cathedral. maybe like some of the Hogwarts' sets but in the dark green and brown color scheme with those gold highlights, it would be amazing!
I think I'd like to see the staircase either inside behind the portcullis or on the side with some leaf pieces covering it. Atm, it's just this 2nd entrance right next to the main gate, leaving us with more entrances than walls. The catapult being completely stationary is also rather disappointing. A little turntable would go a long way to make that feature more compelling.
I highly agree to this being better than the kings castle. It's smaller, but if you complete it with the other Gatehouse set, it has a really good look and unique compared to the castle.
I got this set as a kid, it was dream come true, best set I have ever got
A very solid set
i really like how you show how you could possibly play with this set as most reviewers just kind of focus on the build like it's a collectors item
Thank you! I was experimenting with that kind of review for this video. I may try it again for a future video.
I just got this at Bricks and Minifigures, so excited to build it.

They say Lego doesn’t like to promote violence
This is the best description of a set that I've ever seen! Instant subscribe!
Thank you!
I loved this set as a kid. This set was such a great set, a horse barding is amazing some good figs a cool structure for the dragon knights
Totally agree! I wonder what a full on castle would of looked like for the Dragon knights.
I wish I had this set. Love the dragon knights hope they come back one day
Always wanted this as a kid, but never got it ☹️

I like that idea! I may try to make a moc out of it for the channel one day.
Great video. Lego Kingdoms is certainly one of the best medieval themes Lego has ever made.
Kingdoms had very solid builds and factions
One of my all time fav sets ^^
hello fellow castle collector
Hello there!
I think I'd like to see the staircase either inside behind the portcullis or on the side with some leaf pieces covering it. Atm, it's just this 2nd entrance right next to the main gate, leaving us with more entrances than walls.

I love the colors and the design
