    The LX570 models from 2011-2015 looked like tanks from the rear. The size of the dual rear tail-lights were HUGE. It especially looked good in the Lexus Pearl/White paint.
    Lexus always does the best paint, I remember when I bought an LS430 for my father the salesman at the Lexus Dealership was telling me about how it had over 23kg of paint on it. And that the front windscreen was coated in artificial sapphire to stop stones causing windscreen cracks, like a luxury watch, except, you know, A WHOLE WINDSCREEN. That car was insane. Lexus spared no expense. It even had Birds Eye Maple wood on the inside and they specifically used cuts from the same tree for each car so that the 'birds eye' effect of the wood was consistent. Insane.

    Was shopping for an LX570 back in 2022. Test drove one (poorly priced) and it was superb. Every bit a Lexus. Drove 2 QX80's and they felt like Nissan Titans. I can't understand why Lexota couldn't integrate the LX's 3rd row seats to stow into the floor with this generation like the current GX.

    • @M1911jln
      @M1911jln 3 года назад +3

      This is a very old design and the rear floor is relatively high due to the need for clearance of the solid rear axle and the underfloor storage of the spare tire.
      Yes, the GX 3rd row stows into the floor but to do so they raised the floor height about 5 inches. So when you open the rear door on the GX, the sill of the door is about 5 inches below the floor height. The 3rd row of the GX takes up a ton of cargo room. The 5th Gen 4Runner without the 3rd row has 80 cu ft of cargo space with the second row folded. The GX has only 60 cu ft of cargo space with the 2nd and 3rd row folded -- that is a huge loss of cargo space.
      For me, I'd much rather have the 3rd row seats in the LandCruiser and LX as they are now, so that I can take remove them as I don't need them. Once they are integrated, you can't remove them and you never get that cargo space back.
      This is a large, heavy, off-road capable SUV. That comes with a lot of compromises -- heavy weight, rougher ride from the solid rear axle, relatively poor on-road handling, and less interior room. If you don't need the off-road capability, then a crossover like an X7 or GLS is likely a better vehicle for you.

    The biggest competitor for the Lexus LX is the Toyota Land Cruiser
    Toyota solved that problem by killing off the Land Cruiser in the US
    There's simply more profit in selling the LX, and we'll have a new Lexus LX next year
    So if you want the new Cruiser, you better expatriate, or kick it old school

    • @maheenjillani
      @maheenjillani 3 года назад

      I think it was because Land Cruiser sales were just too low. A buyer who can afford a Land Cruiser can and will prefer the LX because it is the same car but much more premium. Axing the Land Cruiser in the US just made sense and was a win win for Toyota/Lexus

    • @InvestBetter.
      @InvestBetter. 3 года назад

      @@maheenjillani The facts don't support that argument. Their sales are usually pretty close, and this year, the Cruiser is almost 2-1 ahead of the LX. They both sell 3-4k a year, usually. I see why Lexus is doing it. From a business case, it makes sense.
      If they sold the new Cruiser, I'd get that over the Lexus, because the Land Cruiser name means more to me. It's Toyota's #1 global brand, and the toughest truck on Earth. That matters.

    • @maheenjillani
      @maheenjillani 3 года назад

      @@InvestBetter. no clue where you got your data. Quick google search shows the LX sold 4700 in 2019 and the Land Cruiser was 3100 in 2019. Pretty massive difference so it makes sense why they would axe the Land Cruiser.
      Maybe you would rather have the Toyota but let’s be real. In the US, hardly anyone is offroading these. I can’t remember the last time I saw a new land cruiser or LX on a trail, it’s all small jeeps and older cars. In reality, these cars were status symbols and anyone who was looking to buy it preferred the LX because it was nicer for not much more money.

      @runnerxa 2 года назад

      It can tow more than 7000# if you upgrade the stock coil springs which are rated at 170#/in (aka soft). Originally LX570 was rated to tow ~8100# but was derated in 2011ish because folks were overloading the AHC. The main complaint was the ride being stuck on AHC-LOW. AHC has decent overhead built in it to allow you to go over 7000# but not to 8100#. Look up on IH8MUD and see how people have installed uprated coil springs (OME 2721/2722 and Icon 2" dual rated springs) to assist the AHC. The dual rated springs (OME 2721 and Icon) are rated between 270#/in to 340#/in. The coil springs will take up more weight and ease AHC loading thus allow for increased payload/tongue weight. The axle weight is rated the same as LC200, which is rated to tow up to 8100#.

    How many 3rd row SUVs sold in the last decade that are off-road capable in the US? When you have a large family and also enjoy the travelling the remote areas, there is pretty much just one or two choices for the last decade. Either the LC200/LX570 or the LR3/4. Escalade, Suburban, Tahoe/Yukon, QX80, Armada, Sequoia, Expedition, and Navigator are all nice large 3 row SUV but they can't really off-road that well even if you upgrade the tires. Smaller SUVs like the 4Runner/GX are capable off-road but have narrow/tight 3rd rows. On long distance trips, your 3rd row passengers will hate you. Adventure variants of crossovers like the Telluride have decent 3rd row but can't off-road that well even with a small lift/better tires. You get much more legroom and interior width for baby car seats/passengers with the larger LC200/LR4. With the LC200/LX570 and LR3/4, you are essentially choosing between reliability or off-road prowess. Now that the Grand Wagoneer is making a come back, introduction of the Grand Cherokee L, and potentially a 3 row version of the Defender, we will have more options for the those of us with large families.

    Lexus reliability any day over Land Rover's "Prince of Darkness" legacy. Depreciation on Land Rovers is some of the worst in the industry. My $24K GX470 I bought used in 2017 is still going strong and I could sell it for $20K. Can't say that about Land Rover or any of the British Leyland products.

    The infinity is actually slightly more fuel efficient according to official numbers.

    • @paulandrebeccak5680
      @paulandrebeccak5680 3 года назад

      Yes, our QX80 has been averaging 18 mpg over 7k miles in mixed driving which is 50% better than what Alex got in the LX, that's a huge difference. Plus the INFINITI runs on regular. Interior is nicer on the Lexus (except the terrible joystick we had on our LS460), but I don't understand the huge price premium.

    • @runnerxa
      @runnerxa 2 года назад

      The score should have been a B or B- for fuel economy. I own a LX570 and I am certain he would get similar mpg to EPA (12mpg/17mpg) for the LX if he hadn't drive over 2000'. When my vehicle was stock with all season tires and loaded with 6 people plus luggages, I average 17/18mpg. The LX570 has the same engine as the Land Cruiser/Tundra/Sequoia. You can run regular on it, engine power will be 381hp/401ft-lb. On premium, it will be 383hp/403ft-lb. So I stick to using regular fuel since my butt in the seat does not feel the extra 2hp/2ft-lb. The price difference is that you can really off-road with the LX570 and not worry about it breaking down. Take a look underneath the Land Cruiser 200 platform and you will notice that it is virtually flat with everything tucked up above & next to the frame (hence the interior has less headroom). This is primarily to prevent snagging obstacles while off-roading. None of the competitive SUVs (including the Toyota Sequoia) except the Land Rovers have a flat underbody. Plus there are enough aftermarket accessories to modify it very easily with smaller wheels/bigger tires, differential lockers, and the whole expedition setup because it is a common Land Cruiser platform. You can easily put 33" tires on it without trimming, and 34" tires with slight trimming. If you do not plan to venture far off-road or into remote places, then the QX80 is a better/wiser choice. I do wish that Nissan would offer an off-road trim for the Armada or QX80. If so, I would definitely take a hard look at the value proposition.

    Disappointed not on their choice but rather how strong the Toyota/Lexus brand can get a way with. But in the end of the day, it is not my car anyway and they live in a property that lacks an garage leaving public street parking the only option which is understandably the shortcoming of the EV charging infrastructure.

It would have been so better if you could include driving shots of the car from outside as you review while driving. The explanation is nice but it gets so boring watching the same shot.
    Why don’t you bring along Sofyan to shoot the exterior shots of the car while driving? And I love his reviews as well. I have similar gripe on his videos. Perhaps, you could take exterior shots of the car while driving in his reviews.
