While I agree with much of what Doug said about the Lexus LX 570, I do disagree with quite a lot of his finding and conclusions on the Legendary Lexus SUV,.

LX570 king of reliability.
Range Rover king of repairability.
Correct
In China there was a protest over poor quality Rangie.
Funny how obsessed toyota fanboys are with range rover. This video had nothing to do with them and they still keep mentioning them out of hate. Just accept it bro range rovers are more luxurious and have much more road presence than shitty plastic toyotas!
@@gto4609 Doesn't change the fact that range rovers have the worst quality control. LMAO. Even the chinese have made cars with better interior doesn't mean their cars are good.
@@gto4609 you’ve gotta be joking!….or you have no clue. I would put more faith in riding the cow, from which those hides came from in that Rover, to and from work than I would driving to my mail box in that Rover. (Pretty jewels that Never should leave the garage)…..pointless.
Lx570 and Land cruiser are two of best SUV, no one need to argue about that

Physical gauges being out is a fashion statement. If Doug wants to make a fashion statement he should try wearing pants
BRUHHHH U KILLED HIM 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He isn't a mechanic who actually works on cars like Scotty.
Make jokes about scotty and his love for toyotas all you want but he does have a point. Only toyotas that need repairs in my country are first year models, diesels and very unloved ones (not including general maintenance and accessory addins).
Scotty is in love with Toyota a bit too much
🤣👍
I definitely agree with you, he is totally wrong and harsh about the LX.
I don't buy a vehicle to play video games or for its over-complicated techs. Most people don't, and most people care about reliability and built quality. With that being said, Lexus LX570 is outdated.
AFA I couldn’t of said better myself .. he has a big cultural following I could never understand why
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. People still drive the old school LX and are happy with it.
Afa I couldn't of said it better myself give me reliability comfortability im not interested in apple CarPlay and android auto and all the fluff outdated but reliable
when I am in a large SUV, I WANT the ride to be soft, I want a relaxed ride. Also I personally do not like the new trend of huge screens on the dashboard, after a day of staring at a computer on my work the last thing I want to stare at a screen in my car.
Good points Kirk, i saw his video and got disappointed from him not LX. He jeopardized his knowledge and reputation about the car business
Coming from a Range Rover he doesn’t know a good truck when he sees it
I watched his video the day it was uploaded, I usually enjoy most of his uploads. HOWEVER: I was in complete disagreement with his entire portrayal of the masterpiece called the LX 570.. sure it’s not a perfect full size luxe barge but in comparison to reliability, build quality and overall luxury to its competitors hands down a great educated purchase..
proud owner of a 16 LS 460L executive package
Lexus all day everyday
I wouldn’t say masterpiece, there Are parts where the lx can improve, such as the infotainment, fuel economy, and the big grille, with that being said however, I do like it. And I have it’s brother, the land cruiser
I am a huge Lexus fan. That’s why I watch this channel. I have a 2016 GX and a 2019 ES. Dougs points are spot on. I get the value of the LX and its off road. But for 100k that beast just isn’t up to snuff. It needs a third row that doesn’t have flip up seats. It has to have the newest of all technology. If it was a 50k vehicle , then no biggie. But 100k. Come on now.
Finally someone with some common sense.
Here we are 4 year later and Grand Wagoneers are 106k and are in recall sitting unsold on lots. This is exactly why the LX was a tremendous value.
When someone talks bad about lexus or Toyota I feel like they are starting a war on any of my family members
Amen!!
They do need to make it more fuel efficient and update the software with apple car play. But if I was rich I’d buy it.🤷🏽♂️
You're right, the value score is too low, I think this exposes that Doug rates his value scores more on MSRP and driving experience, less on maintenance costs and resale value
I happen to be apart of the unpopular group of people who actually prefer real gauge needles for the tachometer and speedometer. 😆 leave the screen for the information display, not the whole gauge cluster geesh.
I.e. The Nissan Altima Platinum and Toyota Camry XSE are perfect examples of what I'm talking about, large tachometer and speedometer with a huge screen in the middle!
Lx 570 is a quality suv, probably one of the best.....
I own a 2018 LX yeah my off road controls are scratched up but I love it. Definitely worth the money. Didn’t even think of buying a range rover or mercedes gl
Ok now you own A Range Rover , your DP😂
And? I just got the range rover still own my LX and will be buying the new one as well
My dad built engines as part of his car restorations. He restored over 30 Corvettes alone plus many more cars. People asked him to build engines all the time.. they would say, “make it fast and last a long time.” He said you get to pick one. This was 30 years ago and it still applies today.
Agreed on the suspension and MTS control dials, the top caps are ridiculously easy to scratch! I got mine as CPO with 17k miles and the caps look like they came from a war! And what's more ridiculous is when I asked dealer to replace the caps they couldn't buy them as a separate part! The only option is to replace the entire controls panel which costs $1500! To add the insult to the injury these caps are easily removed! Why Lexus can't make them as a separate part is beyond logic! Especially because nearly every one of them gets scratched so easily! Other than this one gripe and abysmal fuel economy LX570 is a vehicle in its own class and a true legend. I had to get a MY21 because this is the last year of V8 and I think it is the last LX that will last 30+ years.
KREEEIIIIIFFF! Personally I like Doug Demuro. But yeah definitely disagreed with his LX video. He did had valid points and yeah should be there for 2020.
The other stuff he pointed out that it doesnt have is why I LOVE the LX. I dont want a twin turbo V6, I dont want a dial shifter. I had two loaners for a total of three months with the dial shifter, almost blew my brains out. I don’t want a digital gauge cluster. Proven to be unreliable and who needs added expenses? Definitely appreciate you picking his video apart! Was Kreifelicious!
Lol thanks!
Damn the views on this added quick!
Doug demuro get me mad about the Lexus In the middle East we know what King Lexus is more luxurious best looking car its the son of the King god Lord of all cars Toyota land cruiser
I own a 2019 LX 570. No problems to speak of.
Things to mention -
Outdated infotainment. Adaptive cruise is a little jerky, not terrible. It should have more modern amenities for the money (more USB ports, wireless charging, massage seats). Feels a little dated after owning other new higher end vehicles, but overall quality is great.
The climate concierge automatically controls seats and steering wheel, I think.
The little mouse pad control thing for the infotainment is very easy to use now that I’ve had the vehicle a few months.
There should be a way to see the traction per tire on the LX when slippage occurs.
I’ve had and checked out new Mercedes. More modern, but not trucky like the LX. It’s a truck. And it’s very cool.
The auto lowering feature is very cool for ladies or kids or folks with trouble getting into and out of the tall vehicle.
I’m not sure why you’d use the paddle shifters in the LX. It’s a little sluggish, but has plenty of power when needed.
Lexus customer service and warranty basically smashes every other brand (Lincoln, Mercedes, Range Rover). They’ve been perfect!
I tested and considered Land Cruiser and other luxury vehicles when purchasing. LX 570 won out. With the extended warranties you cannot go wrong.
Overall MPG is 15.8.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience with the LX.
Sorry to hear yours doesn't have a wireless charger. All the 2019's I've seen had one.
How reliable is the LX 570 hydraulic suspension? I have the LC 200 (4.5 diesel)and it has regular suspension and the ride is a bit harsh but it's so reliable. Want to compare that to the Lexus.
LOL, those comments are great.
"Audi/Mercedes has better user interface"... "Navigator has better fuel econmy"... blah blah. In the end, there are only two things that matter: 1) automobile failure/repair rate per no. of units (or take a look at technical service bulletins at any given time), and 2) RESALE VALUE. And of course, Lexus dominates these categories. All of that "better" stuff that the competition offers doesn't really matter, if it breaks on or before 60k miles. Unless you're leasing, I suppose.
I'm a super big Doug fan but I completely agree when he got backlash for saying the LX was a $95,000 disappointment. A lot of people hate this car but they completely miss the point which is how it's one of the most reliable modern cars in the car industry. It integrates capability, versatility, reliability, and luxuriousness which is why it gets a lot of attention. I mean technology isn't even far off take a look at the GX which is the actual outdated one. I think it's a great vehicle that could have high resale value over the years.
Lane keep asist. No. Adaptive cruise to the full stop. No.
"People choose their vehicles despite their outdated systems" - I could not agree with you more. I choose Lexus despite their outdated options.
Even Kirk has several things he doesn’t like about the LX.....let’s face it....it needs an updated drivetrain as well as full redesign inside and out. Value for the money isn’t there any more.
You got what u asked for let’s see how you like ur new LX600 after 36 months
Update the vehicle to a fresh look with LED instrument gauges, keep the current engine and turn it into hybrid so you have the performance with better gas mileage
Hey do you know when is the new redesign shape LX570 coming out?
2022 as 2023 model 🤞
Totally agree Kirk. Keep in mind there have been multiple reviews that preferred the 470 over the 570. I do not have enough seat time in the 570 to make that call. Controversial = Clicks in RUclips That grill shouldn’t be on a SUV, first snowbank = body damage
Totally agree with you man. I was hoping you would address that video. Also, I love the grille. In the flesh there machines are stunning... The 570 is a big tough beautiful luxurious beast.
Big beast?2019 Chevy traverse bigger Inside and have bigger truck after 3rd row.and actually 3rd row can fit adult.have touch screen.remote start.way better mpg.and cost 40k$.lx570 offroad beast? Who in the hell going offroad on 100k$ suv?
I agree with you on a lot of your points, car reviewers blow the infotainment system issues way out of proportion. Yeah it's a learning curve, but after you've had it for awhile it's easy to navigate and to use.
What happened to Doug that used to be objective with the touch of personal opinion!
Land Rover paid him to trash LEXUS lol
He discovered that he can win money if beeing extreme and controversial.
He has alway been hating on Toyota and Lexus. After the RCF review which he did a very biased review talked all the crap about it. I unsubscribed and stopped watching his video. He is starting to sound like a clown.
Mansour Q. Yea no kidding lol, like come on Doug you need to show some respect to any Toyota and Lexus vehicles.
Mansour Q. Yeah I agree he comes off Biased in all his Lexus and Toyota review.
@@nathanielh9843 like the new bmw Supra?
85corolla No, I referred to other Toyota/Lexus vehicles. BTW the new Supra is not a real Toyota anyway.
Kirk you are right. The LX is a fantastic machine. Hoping it comes with a hybrid engine. Maybe then it will be launched in UK. I know in Middle East it give the Range Rovers tough competition
Doug has never fixed cars
Kirk thanks for this vid, agree with your point across the board, "don't even consider lx570" doesn't make sense, on and off road LX is the best!
The LX has very practical technology that is not overly complicated compared to most newer rivals. Most customers at our dealership buy the LX for its size and off roading capabilities rather than the tech. However it does need a few updates such as Apple car play and Lexus safety system 2.0. I hope for the 2020 model coming out soon that it will have the gen11 software or touch screen that will be out soon for the 2020 RX models. Great video by the way, always learn something new about the vehicles whenever I watch your videos.
Thanks, Kenny.
The 2020 LX will not have Apple carplay or android auto. It will not have Gen 11.
We'll have to wait for the 2022 model or 2023 possibly which I HOPE isn't the case.
Kirk Kreifels Ahh well dang, one can only dream though haha, thanks for the info 👍🏻
@@KennyVacek I agree with ya, BUT….😁😁
It seems to me, everyone wants to drive their I-Phone. It’s kinda disheartening to see. I honestly look back, with envy, to the days that a car was a car. I do like Lexus……Toyota is a standard that is hard to beat….it’s this “Tech” that requires more than a “garage mechanic” these days. And yet, I am a Lexus/Toyota fan…..tech or not…..not to mention, I have a wife and kids,…tech, tech, tech…😢😁
Thanks for these informations
Kirk, nice video for LX 570 owners.
what would you get between 2009 LX570 and 2016 Prado diesel 2.8l?
Diesel simply because we don't get them in America
Will the 2020 sport grill fit on a 2016-2019 model?
Doubt it - unfortunately.
yes it does.
He should’ve reviewed one with a parchment interior
or Cabernet
There’s a reason why this car is used in the harshest environments and not the other car brands. If car breaks down you get stuck with no help. Car is broken in at 250k miles.
I’ve been waiting for this video!
Thanks for making this video because I was getting so frustrated I had to turn off Dougs review.... current owner of 2018 Rx 350 f sport flawless experience can’t wait to step up to the Lx very soon!!:)
Physical buttons are less to fix and at the same time much less likely to break in the first place. My mom ownes a 2017 E Wagon Mercedes and its been in for warranty work serval times already.
As owner of is 300 lx 570 gs 460 and my last new car the Es 350 f sport they are the best
The LX is for old, well heeled men. They wont give a shit about lcd screens.
I added aftermarket CarPlay (wireless) to my 2017 LX and added some wireless chargers to the vents and it’s up to date enough. My knobs were scratched to high heaven in my certified model. I haven’t added a single scratch to them, my guess is other people put their keys there. I do want that TRD body kit you showed, it’s not available from the factory in the US.
Can we send this video to Doug?...
No, he'd just give it a negative Doug score.
we have the lx570 for over a year now. i can tell you that i love it more and more each day. it is a wonderful suv and for the money, i believe it worth every penny! it has awesome 4x4 all wheels drive with suspension that is so freaking smooth. when the engine is on, you cant even hear it. the mark levinson stereo system sounds amazing, especially when you’re watch movies inside the car, it sounds like youre at your home theater! the ride is quiet and it equips with so many safety features. im sure other competitors offer similar or maybe in someways a little better but i really dont think the difference is that much greater. especially when it comes to reliability, this LX has been around for so long and has proven to be one of the most reliable suv. we are a younger couple and we have an amg. as much as we like the all the bells and whistles from merc, audi and all other fancy automakers but to be honest, we just ready to have something reliable and not going to break down on is like the new and constant changing of gadgets with little to no history. id rather have the odometer gauges than all the new fancy digital display. it will be a matter of time it something will be wrong with it.
here are some of the reasons why we got the LX over the Escalade, Navigator, Land Rover:
4x4 (similar as the land rover)
cost less for maintenance
known for reliability (300k miles maybe less maybe more, still more promising than the rest!)
resale value (most like will never sell!)
i understand that Lx is no perfect suv but to me it is as perfect as it can get for what you’re paying for. (i have one and my neighbor in-front of me has one, both are black and fully loaded)
Doug’s review to me was like a kid that just ask for candies but doesnt really understand they are no good for him.
Wow! Thanks for sharing :) Glad to hear you love your LX!!!
Borrowed one of these for a week and fell in love. It's big and kinda dumb if you live in the city like I do but also really grand, luxurious, and smooth...yet trucky. It hit the sweet spot I didn't know existed and in a different way than a Range Rover.
I love my LX. Dougs video annoyed me. He forgets, not every buyer is looking for the same things in a car. One thing you mentioned, the Steering wheel heat. Mine is a 2017 and the steering heat and the seats ARE tied to the concierge. There is a setting in the system to set it how you want it.
Kirk is speaking fair and 100% correct in his LX 570 observations. Thump ups!
i agree with you on all points accept the looks, it looks bad and thank god the new generation lx design and interior is 100 times better ,
I agree with your assessment. I’ve watched Doug for years…..MANY Video’s. That video seemed like he flew through the review and didn’t take the time with the lx.
I honestly can’t believe the Range Rover and “Any” Toyota product is mentioned in the same sentence. (Rover is a nightmare Pile)
As far as mpg……the customer getting a Toyota is not necessarily looking for mpg……it’s ALL “Reliability, Reliability, Reliability”. That’s it.
Good video……good response.
Appreciate the video.
He bought a land cruiser didn't mind overpaying in post pandemic market so.....🧐 I really like the 570's grill by the way.
I will stand by your side
Nothing but love for the LX, have got both 100 and 200 series and they are by far the best vehicles ever made
I had all the same exact thoughts as you while watching Doug’s video.
You're both right; we need more from Lexus in LX
With all the pros and cons - the LX still does need an update or else - reduce the price, as a great, yet outdated model should cost. Toyota should stop fooling people and earning huge money on its reputation, without investing/spending into upgrading this top of the line model.
Thanks for taking my suggestion and making this video wanted your opinion on it
We all know Doug is very biased towards German more especially Mercedes also towards range rover
Thanks Kirk was waiting for this....Kudos.
I would spend 5k more and get the LX because the Land Cruiser not because the Land Cruiser is not selling its best to get a Sequia to be honest plus they don't make the Land Cruiser anymore so its best to go the LX route.
LX is the most reliable and the best suv in the world!
most reliable - yes
best overall - not even close
Imagine a Range Rover owner saying that a Lexus lx is full of dissapointment
I won’t buy a car w/o physical gauge’s, I hate pano roofs , I do wish the LX could use 87 octane fuel , and YES tech does need a major update
If he wants to hate the car he will tell you some irrelevant stuff is bad
I love the grill. It looks agressive and since the beast is huge it deserves that kinda grill.
I hate lcd gauges- Physical gauges are the way to go personally for me. Not only Toyota but other brands also. LCD cheaper to produce and install and more expensive to replace. All expensive watches have physical handles and classic look. :)
Btw that shift knob you just need to lower the leather boot and turn the knob one turn tighter
Thanks! However That shouldn't happen on any car let alone the LX
@@KirkKreifels very true I don't know the reason why they do that but Ive noticed it on a lot of new Lexus models
Coming from someone who has owned a 2016 LX570 and a fan of all Land Cruisers, Doug is 100% right. People only buy the LX for a few reasons not because it is a better car than its rivals.
dude you are great .Finaly intelligent and very OBJECTIVE car reviews
Never care Doug. We all have our opinions about cars. LX570 is my best car ever. Every time I drive this, I smile. It’s just unbelievable. I used to have Tesla model X, with so many technologies, but always had problems here and there. I don’t feel much safe when driving X in the snow. But 570 is really a capable and reliable car.
How can a car with electronic seat adjustment be better than one without? That's like adding an extra step to a process - you lose time. Yeah you can save time, but you wouldn't need to save time if you didn't move the seat. For that matter how many times a year do you move the seat? 12 times? I move the seat of my prius about 4 times a month but only because i vacuum every week. Also what's with having a dash and a HUD? Honda got it right with the Prelude once they put in the "space ship dash", everyone loved the s2000 with the same style dash, apart from missing some critical gauges(temps and 12v status) i love the gen 2 prius dash. The MX5 still has a hand operated soft top and it's one of the coolest vehicles on the road for that and other "stupid" mechanisms. We live in a time of smart phones, smart tvs, smart cars and stupid people.
C'mon Kirk... just leave Jay Leno's son alone...😁 he just don't know what the LX means. Good content, keep it up Kirk.👍🏻God bless!
Only thing Doug is right is the cramped interior layout. The 3rd rows flip it flat and little more cargo.
I will keep 4Runner Trd pro. New cars have wayyyyyyy to much tech just ready to break down.. plus mechanics have no clue how to fix all this crap. 4Runner simply fun to drive and it last 20 years.
Totally agree with you Kirk.
That's true man 👍
The lx 570 is a good cad
Happy to get a 2021 LX w the reliable V8
Exactly...I agree ....Doug was wrong and I love his channel but sorry i prefer this grill than the brother vehicle the LC...id take either one lol 😆 I currently own a 2014 4runner...reliable like no other
I can't believe I missed this video, I can see your passion! I just wish we got the LX in the UK :(
Yes you guys get the shirt end of the stick... At least you get the RC hybrid? Lol
I won’t argue about Doug’s opinions (they’re opinions, of course), but he does seem especially harsh sometimes on some cars and brands.
Im taking this shit to the mountains and going on trips, im not drag racing
BRO THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS
I agree Doug was completely wrong. I hope Lexus makes an EV version of the LX.
I totally agree with you
Do I wish Lexus had more options and better tech ? YES, But if your keeping the car more than 2 or 3 years . The reliability of Lexus is far superior.
You are absolutely correct.
Doug: This car is is disappointment
Middle East Arabs: *doubt..
You are totally right
Doug is wrong. And you are right.
Why I don't agree completely with Doug, he hit the nail on the head in many key areas. The infotainment is outdated, the gauge cluster is garbage for a 90k+ luxury car/truck , the LX offers none of the modern creature comforts expected at the $95k price point and the new Lincoln Navigator and BMW 7 Series and even the recently updated G class are proof of that. I love Lexus more than anyone, but you'll need to stop acting like they are at the forefront of automotive evolution, they are so behind the competition in some areas its not even funny anymore. The LX and the GS and GX are "ALL" terribly outdated, but Lexus commands the same high end price tag for 8 year old technology, Yes Lexus is one of the most reliable brands, but in a day were most people lease there Premium sedans you have to sell more then reliability to the younger generation, we wont industry leading tech, high end sustainable material choices, large displays and a car that integrate with our smartphones. I am sorry but I thought he was spot on and with 3 MILLION plus viewers, I am sure someone from Lexus saw his review and I hope they take note that Doug isn't the only one that feels that way. Like it or not 3 million people watching that video I am sure at least a 300 people that were considering the LX just changed there minds, and went with the competition.
@Skittles Candy Well that's good for you and what you want. The majority of millennials could care less about claims of reliability you wont be able to see until after at least 5 or more years hence why with horrible reliability Mercedes and BMW still outsell Lexus year after year, you cant sell outdated cars and just factor in its reliability you see what happened to the GS right, no one cars how reliable it is we want modern vehicles that compete with other premium brands in all aspects. Over 70% of premium brand vehicles are leased reliability is nice but let the second owner worry about that I could care less, its just so funny ready these comments and the excuses you'll make for this company. Oh yeah and this is from an Sr. IT Manager and 4x Lexus owner.
@Skittles Candy No offense taken I currently own a 2017 GS its my second one , in less than 5 years I definetley enjoy the car. But even with horrible resale value Mercedes and BMW still outsell Lexus. Consumers want innovation along with technology, and Lexus are aiming for buyers my age hence the Fsport appearance package being introduced on all models and the investment in the F line series of there cars. Generation Y and X mellennials want tech, you can sell reliability to my father and grandfather. If your not hitting the core with the market you are aiming for you dot sell cars RC , LC GS, and LS all had sales declines first quarter 2019, take a look at German sales for the same period. But I always love hearing different opinions , doesn't make me wrong and you right just health dialogue. Bottom line Doug isnt the only one that feels that way and if they want to remain competitive there going to have to sell more to the buying public than reliability.
You're way more right than Doug and he just will never be right
Is Doug a comedian or a reviewer?
Let's see how long Audi's Instrument cluster lasts...
My family has owned Toyotas for 50 years. He's not wrong. For being over 85k it's a big disappointment. It's has the quality of a 60k price point.
I had to roll my eyes on your LC vs LX. Toyota hates spending money. Mechanically they are very close to identical, with the exception of the Adjustable suspension. Brakes are identical. LC has history. LX is a soccer mom mobile. Also the Akio Toyoda years are nowhere the quality of the Eiji Toyoda years. Toyota is riding on Eiji years reputation. Akio years are cost cutting, recalls, and outsourcing. If you are a Toyota long time owner, new Lexus and Toyotas are disappointments. Everyone has caught up, and the Koreans quality wise has matched Lexus.
I've owned my 1989 LC for 30 years. It's semi retired now but I love the Eiji Toyoda years quality. I love the Feel. Sound. Tons of character. Still turns heads to this Day. The new one does everything better, faster, better gas mileage, but is soulless. There's nothing desirable in the Lexus/Toyota line up. You can spend 100k on one and still not get Android Auto.
Well, in truth, Perhaps if they built a manual transmission 4 Runner, I would buy it despite the flaws. It's good sized, and has some character. It reminds me of my 1993 Toyota Manual V6 truck I use to own long ago.
Thanks for sharing! I hope I see you on the channel in the future with your experience, knowledge, and valid opinions. Cheers.
Agree, LX is a way better car, specially with the V8 diesel engine from the LC200.
