If there was an award for the best Discovery 3 Complete Rebuild series of videos then you would win it by a mile! The love that has gone into this car is amazing.
No better video on a Sunday morning than with LR Time! Keep up the good work! 😎🏁
100%
Except it does remind you of all the jobs you have been meaning to do and still haven't done 😔
Christian that is an incredible video. Enormous workload and commitment. Thank you both for your entertaining episode.
That was pure therapy. But I now have ‘ladder frame envy’ 😂 amazing job guys. Ty
If only more people be like yourselves everything will be perfect but I think not many can come even close to the attention and care you carrie on this rebuild. Well done guys.
yep he really the picture of attention to detail. Gotta say i suffer from the that'll do syndrome, he'd probably lynch me if i ever worked with him 😆
The ideal mechanic. I wish I could find someone like him to work on my LR! Although I do appreciate the time constraints faced by most mechanics due to workload required to run a business.
Amazing. I bet there are people who used to build these in the factory, now watching and thinking that this is how we should have done it. :)
Lots of tips for anyone who chooses to undertake a body off frame project, especially in the areas that trap water and debris.
Doesn’t matter how crap my weeks been, I find myself laughing at you guys! Natural born entertainers with such an abundance of technical skills! I can now smile as the new week begins. Thank you Vera and Christian!,,,❤❤❤❤❤❤
😅😊🙋♀️
Good afternoon Vera & Christian 😊 The transformation on the ladder frame is awesome 👏🏻 I’m in amazement on how methodical Christian is with it comes to modifying things making it better than factory 👍🏻 This is most enjoyable to watch 😊 As always big kisses for Vera for her patience and love of here precious LR 😂 xx
An amazing amount of work, and to such an amazingly high standard quality. The pair of you are to be admired for your work ethic and attention to detail
The only ‘Reality TV’ show worth watching 👌🏻😎 Christian & Vera (not forgetting Robin , guest appearances and last but not least the LR’s ) 🙌🏻✌🏻😎
Vera,s. English is excellent.. " are you shitting me" 😂😂
Top marks to Vera for identifying the parts! It was so cool. It was very satisfying seeing the components being cleaned, sanded and painted so throughly! It is better than when it ran off the production line! A great video and thanks for the never ending cheer and humour! You are my favourite couple on RUclips!
Awesome setup and working area and workshop. That disco will be one of the last in existence in years to come in our hemisphere
I would love to have mates like Christian and Vera
Fabulous attention to detail: true engineering!
I am not a LR guy, but I enjoy your videos. Your humor and obvious excitement for the project is fun to see.
This has to be the world’s first concourse LR3😅. Well done.
You guys are amazing, 😊
Wow! That press made light work of all those new bushes!
I like the re-assembling of a vehicle as it gives you the satisfaction of achivement seeing it all go back together
It's looking great Christian, I thought I was a bit OTT about cars but you take it to whole new level, when it comes to water traps Mercedes have perfected it with the W211, they design them in and then add seam sealer to ensure it can't escape and every spot weld is a rust spot. cut away the seam sealer and watch the water run out. I'm begining to see the Discovery in a different light.
I got back yesterday evening after a 3.642 kilometre trip through central France and Aragon in Spain, Now have 214.460 km on the speedometer and how beautifully the vehicle is running. It's also got to do something with this channel that gives you inspiration to get the job done properly and by yourself thank you to both of you for that! But I really think Christian you need a press for home too! I know my chassis pretty well too after having redone the underbody for MOT last January and now I know what the purpose of those two weights are. Next week I put it up on my heavy duty ramps on the street for the 5W-40 oil change and air filter before we set off for our trip through the south of England via Dieppe-Newhaven, see you about guys...😘
Just discovered this channel, after I suddenly developed a case of discovery obsession.. missed a local sale but I’m keen to join the club!
That frame looks amazing though, well done, you do great work - I’m enjoying watching your antics.
I am a Toyota guy in Aussie, you have me convinced these discoveries are great if you work with them and are mechanical minded with basic mechatronic knowledge, thanks guys.
😅👍💪🙋♀️
How amazing does that chassis look. So delighted to see the LR3 being assembled again. Cant wait to see it on the road again. Love the vids. Keep them coming.
Superb job.greetings from KOSOVES,Thank you Germany for support Kosoves.
What Sundays were made for. Superb as usual..
What a great video!
I envy Vella to have such a talented mechanic at home!
My wife gets mad at me just for shaving rusted brake caliper at garage, because she hates rust all over the place^^;
wonderful! Happy Sunday everybody!!
Phew! Good to know where everything goes. Lucky for Christian that Very is the perfect assistant.
Sarah n tuned reference was just too on point😂😂😂😂😂
Her channel is the personification of you can't make everyone happy she cleans they complain she doesn't they complain she replaces they complain she doesn't they complain she explains why she takes a "short cut" people still call her out its actually the same on this channel now that I think about it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😅 it makes things even more entertaining knowing how many people are being triggered
Ahh this brings back memories of summers in shorts and t-shirt getting twist knot wires embedded in arms and legs!
Fantastic restoration there.
I would be scared stiff to drive it after all that great work .
PERFECTION 😊
Let’s play “What’s this part with Veda”… You guys are just great.. Sending lots of love and thanks..🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️
Good to see your staying in shape .
Harmonic dampeners. ♥️👍
You and I are exactly alike, can't sit still and always trying to make things perfect.
Absolutely incredible video Christian! Also, what a well thought out vehicle, hats off to Landrover and superbly done by yourselves! Thank you for taking the time to share this.
A second viewing on Monday morning, just in case I missed something. LR Time setting the benchmark for Discovery 3 refurbishment.
The rebirth of the Land Rover and what a cute baby it is. A work of love for his true love Vera. 👏👏 🌹💐
When this is done Vera’s disco will be worth more than a new Ineos Grenadier in reliability and practicality 💪🏾🙌🏾
No stone left unturned. Thorough and methodical. Great viewing on a sunday morning. Fabulous and intuitive as normal. Thanks Christian and Vera. OMG better than new.. 😂
Always satisfying when the reassembly process begins.
Many years in the future when this is the last Discovery 3 in existence, someone will ask why haven’t the others lasted when LR clearly built them so well!! Not knowing the hours and hours that you two put into it.
I love your channel, the enthusiasm and dedication you put into things. Plus, your humour is priceless! 😂
I’m only ever so slightly envious that I do not have the time, tools or skills to do this to my D3.
Best wishes to you both, keep up the amazing work.
Another excellent video Christian and Vera.. So educational and therapeutic. LR Time is now my best "on screen time" on Sundays. I can't wait for the next episode. See you next Sunday. 👏🙏
Very nice! It is now so fancy that you will have to put it in a museum and get a Toyota to drive. lol
Filling fluids, banging, screwing and vibrating in all that heat. cold shower advised. Not forgetting all that grinding! Impressive
Brilliant video Christian and Vera. A lot of work restoring your Discovery 3 , but well worth the effort, swearing and skinned knuckles . Your D3 will be worth more than it cost new when you've finished.
Your car will now be priceless from a sentimental point of view.... ❤
The TUV man (or woman) will not believe their eyes when they carry out their under body inspection on Vera's LR3.
Amazing work, Christian & Vera !
I really hope so. 😅👍🙋♀️
How very satisfying...doing all the little jobs no factory would do because of cost but will give you an incredibly durable vehicle. Very nice!
Painting chassis in anti rust primer and filling water traps with mastic surely wouldn’t cost much. Would save an awful lot of Toyotas.
Awesome job! Lots to learn …. Especially those rain pockets😱 and extra tape on the wiring👍 I think this car will outlast us all now 😂
Harmonic dampers, the best ride smoothness ever........
Absolutely brilliant and such addictive viewing, OMG! And such a good job... whilst everyone has there small preferences when working on a project like this, you've completely nailed it. Not literally of course! Wonderful Sunday afternoon viewing and the best RUclips channel by far. Well done Christian and Vera.
Love the detail you're showing. Many of us D3/4 owners will need to do this eventually. Thanks!
👍 another excellent video - many thanks,
already looking forward to next week's video (which I will watch in the next 5 minutes - binge watch catch-up!).
I expect that it now looks far better than (the underneath of) a brand new vehicle.
The most beautiful declaration of love that a man can make to his wife in German style😊
Another sunday morning with LR all is good in the world today. Happy Trails
So, this week i had a special birthday. And I'm now officially an old man. But you're never too old to learn a new trick. And what i observed today was was simple but brilliant. When fitting cable ties, pull them tight, then grab them with the cable cutters, bite but don't cut, rock the head of the cutter from side to side.... Gets one or two extra clicks on the tie and it's now nice and tight. Why didn't i think of that!? Now everyone is laughing at me, because you all already do that? Every day's a school day!
Vera is so enthusiastic about her LR3 it’s great to watch and can’t wait to it’s all together again and she can drive her car, please both explain how you have mapped where each part goes it must have been a long laborious task but utterly fascinating content, brilliant stuff please keep the videos coming Sunday wouldn’t be the same without them.
Very nice job ,better than new for sure
Great work , very funny , better than what's on the TV!
One of your best episodes to date and that is saying something. Well done!
17:28 this is the content I appreciate, the little details that take away concerns, especially concerns that once are already evident, its too late.
watching you guys makes me want to rebuild by car.... even though it runs just fine.
ITS LR TIME😊😊😊😊 sunday mornings wouldn't be the same without lr time.Great work progress made this week.this disco will be like new.lucky vera😊 cant wait for next week's episode till then a big goodbye from dublin.ireland.
So Christian basically what you’ve built yourself is a brand new Landrover Discovery III. Exceptional work guys and very entertaining too. Send some of the weather down to Melbourne Australia please. It was no more than 5C today. Brrrrrrr!
So you could not wear sandals 😂. Christian
@@Vera_and_Christian no!!
Is for sure.. much better than new... Great great Job!!!!
Once upon on time when cars were super expensive, it was worth doing all this work. Now days its done for passion and satisfaction.
A fascinating and methodical rebuild. I've watched from the begining to the end and found myself leaning into the screen listening and watching every part. Yes, i enjoyed it that much.
Such an amazing amount of detailed work. Fantastic. It's mid winter here on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia. 21 and sunny.
If Only I had a press like that, If only I had a workshop like that, I still don't have the skills displayed here on this channel from Christian and Vera. Now If they could make me a Discovery from New parts I could be tempted to buy another. Great channel, very interesting video, thanks for posting.
Loving your work and play on this spectacular rebuild. Imagine if a toyota was rebuilt with this much care how long it would last.
Amazing work this couple is doing. This is the most loved and pampered disco 3 in the world. I watch your videos since i lived in Poland and had a disco 3 hse. Now I am in Brazil and own an S version od the disco3. This car is an endless pleasure to drive and maintain. God bless your work and your videos.
Great work! 👍
Great job and awesome dedication 👍
Highly recommend Bilt Hamber Dynax S50 and / or UC clear film waxes would be a good rust defence after the Disco’s back together. Spray in the chassis sections and generally all over. Bilt Hamber has a lot of experience in corrosion control and are relatively cheap… you can do the hole chassis and underside with one aerosol….. helps stop the fastener’s, bare metal and any scratches from building everything back together from corroding 👍
So satisfying to watch! Superb work guys
Great stuff as usual, noticed Christian mention " Sarah n tuned " she's very good too 😀
Brilliant work. Great to see that the LR frame design is actually very good and strong with those main rail C sections welded together and I think they are braced internally too. Hats off to you for filling the water traps with mastic and with the agri rust primer should last for ever. If only Toyota painted Land Cruiser chassis like that in their factory.
Awesome work as usual coming together very nicely. Good fix on the water traps
Fantastic real dedication! Can I please bring my Disco3 ? Seriously keep up the excellent channel and don’t forget 17 year old Toyotas don’t exist, they have simply rusted away. Thank Goodness
What a fabulous & enjoyable episode, very interesting about the water traps on the frame 👏👏👏👏
Excellent, funny, very methodical how lucky you two are to have that enthusiasm together!!
Makes the job fun which is half the job, having a laugh as well as serious as it is!!👍👌
Nice one!!
Hi Vera & Christian!
I was watching your videos for a while and I think you are the most interesting to watch and listen about Discovery's. Sounds incredibily silly but I was inspired by you to buy one recently. I have sold my beloved BMW 3er from 2014 with 2 ltr diesel in a favor of 2005 Dicovery with 4.4 petrol engine. So guys, keep doing your stuff, it makes people do crazy things 🚙👨🔧👩🔧.
MfG from Berlin
Awesome work as ever. gotta say having lived in europe and experienced the rust problems, here in queensland i always find it such a pleasures to work on older vehicle's. My 2010 lr4 has no idea what rust is.
😅👍So I am not sure if your area is affected by this. But here, we do not have the cracked dashboard problems. I did not even know something like this happens until we started with RUclips and Australiens sent me their pictures. 🙋♀️
@@Vera_and_Christian fortunately it hasn't happened to mine. It does have some clear coat damage though just on the back door.
Amazing work as always ! How can Land Rover designers go to all the trouble of designing complicated anti vibration damping weights but leave so many rust traps I wonder? So interesting to see such great progress in the car coming together. Thankyou
I love this channel…I don’t even really know why I do…I just do ❤️❤️❤️❤️
You guys are impressive! Thank you for the videos!
I just love watching this stuff, so satisfying
If in doubt give it a clout, the old Land Rover Mechanic motto, l did not know about those weights, something else lv learnt watching yous two. Again very entertaining guys, with all the trouble in the world, watching yous messing about with Land Rovers every week l feel part of the family now.
Absolutely brilliant and inspiring. There is a lot of preparation, research etc that goes on behind the scenes that we never see. And then the video editing. Oh, and then the engineering and attention to detail. No idea how you fit it all in beside a day job.
Just love to know how your neighbours cope with your preparation work. All that grinding would be a nightmare!! Do you keep them sweet by baking a garage load of cakes!!😂❤❤
It's not really loud. Everyone here has big properties and lots of yard work to do on Saturday. We all make some noise 😅👍🙋♀️
Love watching these videos, you have a beautiful home. This car, when completed will be so much better than when it left the factory.
I missed the part in my Landrover owners manual where it says in order to keep the car in working order you need to be an experienced and determined machinist , mechanic and blacksmith with a son who is a blacksmith as well, you must be as determined as a German or actually be German, have a hoist, a workshop , a full set of machinist tools, a lathe, a welder, and have a very pretty and helpful optimistic wife. I missed that part in the manual.
Yes I get the point. I have no garage and a very sloping drive. But I carry out general maintenence like oils and improvements. Not looking forward to replacing the main belts but suppose I need to think about how to tackle that job and get all the necessary tools and bits before I start. Anyway great comment.
Top restoration work👍
Fabulous job Christian/Vera , a Gargantuan undertaking,I was part of 5S team project where i work , we pulled apart a production line every aspect of it and replaced or rebuilt any and all components needed, it was very well organized so it went quite smoothly and i got one heck of an education of the inner workings of it , it was all complete in 6 days about 14 hours each day and we were all glad to see the end results, i understand this task a little in my own way, spectacular , The Land Rover engineers are probably recording this video to be put to use Monday morning at the factory 😁 Sunday mornings are always a treat to watch LR Time Bravo, Bellissimo, Hell Yeah Brother , 👍😎
Yes, a very nice Frame 😊
Amazing work, Christian - genius
You're doing a fabulous job you guys.
It's looking amazing.
😊💯👍
Very very nice and satisfying job! Congratulations! That's a LR D3 which worth to keep for 2 generations!
I'm loving the restoration 👍
