    Pickleball is for fitness, friendship/family, and fun. I played twice now with wife and 2 teens and absolutely love this game. Calling Pickleball a World Championship is an oxymoron and probably deserves to get hated on RUclips. But, don’t hate this wonderful and fun game until you’ve actually tried it. It’s a game for everybody and anybody. It’s seriously fun but it wasn’t designed to be taken too seriously. After all, it is believed that the “inventor” named it after his dog named Pickles 🤣🤣

    I've started taking Pickleball classes and it is a blast! It may not be exciting to watch but it is a joy to play and has very simple but also smart rules. You can't hit the ball out of the air if you are stepping over that front line. That is why they are making all those low dink shots. Having played recreational tennis and table tennis growing up I'm picking it up pretty fast. It's a good workout as well. The 90 minute class kicks my ass each Sunday morning LOL. I loved tennis but the relentless pounding was murder on my shins so I quit in my 20's.

    • @iLuvMapIeStory

      I dont play pickle ball but i play tennis and ping pong. If you have to return a low ball its harder to hit hard because the only angle u can hit is upwards. Top spin helps but if u hit hard aiming up its gonna go out of bounds. Seems like why they cant hit hard when returning a low ball

    • @johnnyblackrants7625
      @johnnyblackrants7625 3 года назад +12

      Volleying within a few feet of the net is illegal. Volleying behind that is extremely effective, and thus each team attempts to keep the ball short and low enough that volleying is impossible. Hitting the ball with "average power" as you say would simply lead to an easy volley for your opponent, so neutral rallies end up as little dink fests. It's a strange game in that sense - it doesn't have a lot of movement and instead it's more about hand skill, which is why older players tend to like it.

    • @jomomma8754
      @jomomma8754 3 года назад +2

      Controlling the ball and giving it a lot of curve is more important than brute force. Its easier to return a powerful, straight shot compared to a slower curved shot.

      It's super fun and easy to pick up, especially if you like running and jumping games. I played it yesterday and I like it just as much as tennis, ping pong, and badminton. It doesn't require much coordination; there's a large racket and a ball to size so all you have to do is be in the remote direction and there's a high chance you'll hit the ball lol. In the tournament you can see that they hit the ball near the net, the dropshot, is a pain in the arse. Hate to hit those. I don't know why I added that. Anyway, yeah.

    For everyone hating on this sport, it is not supposed to be hard for everyone lmao. I have played basketball and tennis all my life. D2 scholarship for both sports. Pickleball is easy to pick up if you are an athlete and played tennis especially. But it’s a good sport to meet people and have a good time. You can bring someone who has never played and by the end of the day they are having a good game with you. That’s the point. It’s about fun. I love it. Play it all the time. Still play b-ball but pickle has replaced tennis for me. I play singles in pickle (so I still run a bit) but you are able to make dope shots and have a good time. Way harder to find someone who is on my level of tennis without joining a club and having to spend $. Pickle ball is a great sport. Don’t hate until you try it.

    Having played Pickleball for 5 years now, I will be the first to say that pickleball is not an extremely athletic sport. However, like any other ball/racquet game, it's still going to have natural built-in skill diversification and consequent competitive nature, and you really can't knock it as a competition just because the pace doesn't match other sports. Everyone that I've ever introduced to the the game found it to be a blast and from a competitive perspective, there's still enough skill and player diversity to make it a great game. It's not endlessly deep and the skill ceiling isn't huge, but if you haven't tried it, you're missing out.
