Still no word from the ppa…:(

They need to be called out and shamed for all the things that are holding this sport back from being truly internationally recognized. Glad Vietnam, India, and China are starting to get on board with the sport. I bet they can actually organize and draw a crowd more professionally than the PPA currently is. I played a RECREATIONAL match at a warehouse in Vietnam recently and called a foot fault on the opponent. The guy didn't believe me so they went to the tape to check and I was validated. A converted warehouse in a developing nation can afford the same camera tech for line calls the PPA uses, and they still can't figure out how to make it so players don't have to call their own out balls at this level.

Ben and Collin were penalized a point because they walked off the court to take a timeout but without signaling. They had received a technical warning for doing it earlier in the match, and they did it again and were given the 1-point deduction.

@@golfmaniac007 that’s not how it works. The rule is whether 25% of the ball is over the line, which it is here. Plenty of instances where balls that were way tighter were called “in” after a challenge
At 0-4 in the 5th game after Staksrud popped Colin in the stomach with a speedup, it looked like the frustration on both their faces and tuurning away from each other may have cemented their desire to break up for a while.The bros need that break before they start unnecessary " family drama".
at 6:21, why was a fault called? fed did not hit a stroke, hayden hit a ground stroke, neither of them hit the ball out of the air .. what's that breaking the plane rule? anyone?

Congratulations to the Giant Killers. I think Collin needs to adopt the hard hitting personality more often. Right now Collins does not seem to belong on the court with others. Tough to hear this, I am sure. But the gentle game needs to be supplanted with a tougher style of game.
@@Moke.Pickleball In a previous match I thought Collins was occasionally starting to drive the ball hard but he seems to have reverted to his previous style of play, mostly soft defensive dinks. And even when dinking is going on most of the dinks are being handled by Ben! So, Ben is playing Singles Finals (100% him), Mixed Doubles Finals (about 70% of the rallies are by him) and men's Doubles Finals (85% of the rallies are by him). It would turn the legs of most men to jelly! LOL.
@@anwarsadat6825 LOL My exact thoughts. He was pretty much playing Fed and Hayden 1v2, and he was actually winning most of the time, after a while it's just so much pressure to deal with. Yea Collin was definitely being more assertive and aggressive, but here he seemed to revert to what they're comfortable with. Despite a lot the criticism he gets I think Collin is a great player. He would probably enjoy being a little more aggressive as well. I know we all would love to see it.

Take the case of tennis players. Best singles players seldom play doubles. And if they play doubles, they pretty much handle one side of the court. Here Ben is handling 3/4 of the front court. Likely playing 75% of the rallies. And when it comes to men doubles, he is handling even more! Eventually this will tell on his body and mind. Especially as opponents become ever more aggressive.

You can see Ben walking off the court at 39:33. They were penalized for taking a time-out because they didn't make a proper designation. They kind of lose it from that point on 😮
Such a mid take.....I'm no CJ lover, but Ben has had missed multiple finals without CJ. He clearly relies on him a lot more than we perceive. CJ's passive play means that Ben rarely has to counter a speedup from the left sided player opposite him. Honestly, I think they both elevate each other's game a ton. That being said, CJ consistently misses some free opportunities and really does need a speed up off the bounce. Its not about losing his strong passive play, its about evolving to add in better offense for CJ. Personally, I would love a Newman/Johns combo....... but I actually think they might be too much fire for each other. If anything, Riley needs a CJ badly.... Rafa seemed really good, and personally, I think the best option for Riley is Christian Alshon.

@@chrispaulsen5746 its not the timeout foul that changed the momentum of the match it was Fed and bigH comeback 7-9 leading to a timout and they went straight to 11 so a point deduction is not as big of a factor here.

Can someone please help us? i work at a YMCA here in Ohio and we have Pickleballers come in and play Pickleball in our Gym and we have Members who play Basketball on the floor well that Pisses them off they want the whole Gym makes us to force the Basket ballers out and that pisses them off they want full control of Everything and it is pissing off us Employees Are they Violating any Rules the Pickle ball people that is?

They didn’t make a proper time out designation. The announcer mentions it at 46:09

You can't cross the net onto your opponents side unless you hit the ball.

Agreed. I think Ben was pretty frustrated with him for this as well. It's been working for so long, but I think this will be good motivation to adapt.

The Johns brothers were definitely the better team they just screwed up the easy win in game 1. If they won that they would have won the who thing.
If they just call a proper timeout in game 4, they have a good shot of staying ahead there too. Big swing of momentum there
