  • A short video showing how to cut a circle or a tight curve in a porcelain patio slab. This requires a lot of patience and a steady hand! Please ensure you wear the correct PPE such as ear muffs, goggles and safety boots when cutting with a grinder.

Beautiful work. Such patience! That’s a hell of a tile cutting device too!
Will you be uploading a full length version of this or is it just a timelapse?
Btw, I’ve decided to raise the bottom level of my garden slightly higher than the back, as it’s a slight incline to the back.
Am I able to use stone walls to raise it up on the boundary between me and the neighbour? It’s left side so the boundary is my responsibility. I was going to put a stone retaining wall all down the boundary, gradually getting higher as it comes towards the bottom of the garden, then fill with fresh soil and new grass seed, then put up a new straight fence just inside the stone wall along the boundary. Does this make sense?

Thanks! Yea it needs a lot of patience but also there can be a point where you take too much off or break a corner off a slab and have to start again, its like the world has ended when that happens!
Yea you can use stone walls to do that, what would you use to face the neighbours side, stone too? Or would that side not be seen by them? Just make sure whatever you build it is strong enough to hold back the soil!

Oh and it’s just a Timelapse but I’ll try and do a full length version one day. Some jobs it’s hard to do proper filming on or there’s just too much background noise sometimes. Or no one to hold the camera when it won’t work with a tripod!

I did reply earlier buddy but it appears my comment didn’t post properly disappeared.
Anyway, the retaining wall will be used to raise the natural slope of my garden so it’s level, but the gradient is very shallow, so at most I’ll be retaining a foot of soil, maybe a foot and half.
What height and thickness would you say for a stone wall just holding back a foot buddy?
I would also prefer it not too thick as it’ll be on a boundary and the further back the thickness protrudes into my garden, the further back my fenceline will start as the posts for it will be up against this stone.
      Does this make sense? 😆

You won’t have to build it that thick to hold back that much soil. I’d do a 4” block wall then stone in front of that, at least you could use the block wall to put the posts against on the inside or outside of the block then. You could always stone round the posts if you were worried about coming too far into your own garden

@@SamDaviesBuilder thanks buddy, that’s a great idea using blocks first because won’t even see them and can cover them with soil can’t I?
To hold back 1 foot of soil, are we talking 1 course of blocks laid on their long edge?
