Its pretty much the same where i live, but direct full writeoff is only for items costing below $2k, more than that and the writeoff is 20% per year. For 12k the writeoff is year 1=2400, year 2=1920, and so on. This way companies wasting money on abundant crap will not be a burden for regular tax payers.

Now Im kinda curious how long they would last as usable and comfortable shoes across the years. If you buy 200-300 dollar shoes and they fall apart after a few years, would it actually not be that much of a stretch to pay 1200 for a pair that lasts 4 times as long?
