Your best friend is a linguist, therefore your character must be one, even though there's never any mention of it lol. yeah I always think of the protagonist as being an anthropologist or sociologist. That would explain why they work with Hal so closely. (beyond just being besties.) We know that Feldspar is an explorer, Gabbro is a physicist of some sort, Riebeck is an archeologist, and chert is an astronomer, so the role of anthropologist is one that isn't technically held yet. Additionally, it'd make a lot of sense for someone studying the interactions between members of a civilization to be the first one equipped with a translator tool.

    1:09:45 You know I've heard people say "Why is Chert an egg?" but hearing him like actually question the design philosophy made me realize I'd literally never thought of it past "Haha yeah, Chert is a little anxious egg. We have a lot in common". It's probably because they're an astronomer, they need a full field of vision to spot certain quick occurrences; the other Hearthians trade peripheral vision for "anti-concussion plating" sometimes called "cushions" or "pillows". Actually this theory makes Riebeck's suit hilarious, it's the complete opposite trade-off.
    "I need a hands length of cushions on all sides" "How are you going to see out of that?" "2 windows on one side and a periscope on the other" "You'll still be half blind?" "I want to see words not the void" "The black hole or space?" "Exactly"

    You people think the probe tracking module hint should be clearer?many people are confused where it is, but then the computer simply says it is underwater

    • @Starmarack
      @Starmarack 3 месяца назад +5

      I think the ship log should mention the sphere of electricity, not the water. I literally can't tell from the projection pool that it's underwater.

    • @gemstonegynoid7475
      @gemstonegynoid7475 3 месяца назад +1

      @Starmarack that's good. There are few places where electricity is important, so people should connect that hint to the core of giants deep more naturally.

    Hey Eelis- thanks for another well-cut, inspiring comp. Ending was particularly touching on this one. I was wondering, are there any outer wilds playthroughs in your memory where someone stumbles into the DLC early / on accident?

      @dallama2616 We probably won't be getting the dlc supercut for a while. Because Stirx has finished the dlc but he hasnt done the ending yet. He will do the Final Episode on October 11th, so we can expect a supercut of the dlc and ending Some time after that

    I've never figured this out. How do you pronounce Eelis?

    • @Blirre
      @Blirre 3 месяца назад +1

      I don't know their nationality, but could be something North European. If so, the e is pronounced the same as the e in _end._ The e might be an elongated sound, similar to _ma'am_ as it's a double vowel. Double e's are usually hard for English speakers.
