So some people have asked if I'm going to cover Echoes of the Eye when Vinny streams it. Well...I'll think about it ;)
LETS FUCKIN GOOOOOOOO
has he confirmed that he's gonna stream it? if so i'm excited!
@@alistair2111 I'm still waiting, but i hope so
@@alistair2111 Yep, several times! At first it was just a passing 'hopefully' last month because he wanted to play halloween stuff in October first (unaware the DLC is spooky and was intentionally designed and released for Halloween season) - but he's confirmed several more times since he's definitely going to play it.
Outer Wilds came up in the Vinesauce team Mario Party Superstar stream and Mike asked Vin if he would play it, and even more recently in the latest ACNH episode he reaffirms what he said then, that he's getting other games he wants to play outta the way in the expectation that Outer Wilds will immerse and emotionally grab him by the meatballs again
@@atkvin excellent news!! I've been on a colossal outer wilds kick since I played the DLC and have been anxiously awaiting my favourite comedy italian's playthrough
Fun fact: the dead nomai on the quantum moon are alternate versions of solanum. Since she was inside the moon she became present at all possibilities, and once the interloper killed everyone all the versions of her close enough to the star died as well.
The dead Nomai around the solar system make me so sad. Especially Solanum, the quantum moon journey was her coming-of-age ceremony and she has overcome her fear of the eye. So she really was just starting her life.
In Dark Bramble there are two Nomai hugging each other as they died. There are similar scenes all over the the place.
@@leang8441 don't forget the Hanging City classroom

@@leang8441 I believe there are 2 groups of 3 Nomai hugging each other, don't remember any couples. The mood kinda got ruined for me when I was rushing to install the core and shot a scout into them, sending them into a wild spin.
@@musicaccount3340 there's at least one couple, maybe two. In the logs you read of a couple married, I forget their names. I'm pretty sure there's another but it's been so long since I've played this game
2:20:17 I feel bad about laughing at that death. Literally a few steps away.
So close....yet so far....
I didn’t even know that could happen
I knew it was coming, I was saying "oh no" the whole way
@@uvbe I was talking to dave about it in chat the entire time with immense concern >v

ive never seen that before, thats such a cool detail
Thats so cool.
12:43 - "Chat, I want to find out WTF that is..."
This, right here? That's the entire point of this game. It's such a great experience.
It really reminds me of this video ruclips.net/video/qc3Js03-gpI/видео.html
One of the most important pieces of the puzzle, right in front of your eye since you first start the game. It is a game design masterpiece.
honestly vinny pulling out his guitar to play with everyone in the ancient glade is so powerful
I really appreciate watching Vinny do a puzzle after watching Jerma attempt the puzzle, and Jerma doesn't even notice that the sun is exploding for 4 fucking hours
my exact feelings
jeremiah is great but boy do puzzles lengthen a stream
Bruh, he still thought the sun was exploding because of the twin ash project when trying to go the the eye
Jerma himbo confirmed

Murphy’s Law: you will inevitably fly into the sun
nothing: takes him into the sun
@Connor Mullin he doesn't need to do anything to go to the sun, because it's coming to him in 22 minutes!
I love the premature cuts, skipping the death and heading straight to the next loop start.
Also appreciate actually timing the loops whenever vinny mentions the time left in a loop.
@Miller Uriah Dont know if anyone gives a damn but in less than 15 minutes I hung myself using a rope. Cant link here so search for it on google ;)
@Miller Uriah ooh look, another scam website. I remember trying these websites to get clash of clans money a few years ago, then realising they were fake and trying to get you to fill out surveys.
Looks like this one is taking it a step further and is actually asking you to pay them $17 for the password that it doesn't actually know.
@@piggeywig2000 hey guys its me, youtube account created a week ago. The scam really worked! It even had a toggle option to remove the feeling of shame for desiring to hack anothers instagram account!

@@nbkarkat Phineas and Ferb movie reference?
@@nbkarkat kinda ironic that "twice" itself refers to two times that the fabric of space-*time* has been broken
Blind playthroughs (or thereabouts) of Outer Wilds are like a drug for me. Your playthrough was great, and I loved the editing you did for flashbacks, especially the exposition dump in the Ash Twin Project. Also good job breaking space time in all 2 possible ways.
Uhh, this channel isn't run by Vinny, this guy just edited the stream, Vinny vinesauce is the guy playing
I thought they'd be a drug to me, but it's just torture. It was just such a perfect experience for me that seeing anyone diverge from the path I took feels really bad. How could they go that route instead of the way I played it??? What trash
@@DragoonBoom I can't tell if this is a joke.

Ian Jacobson: "a nice boy who tried his best"
"Westley Martin: ACTUALLY IN A TIME LOOP - SEND HELP"

Its a very Vinny thing to do to both a) accidentally discover two of the quantum rules in his first 10 loops and b) fall into the Sun two loops in a row
Its also a REALLY Vinny thing to get the Self ending right before beating the game holy shit
I know it's been two years but it's wild how Vinny discovers the last quantum rule by complete accident
What the hell?
This is THE BEST editing I've ever seen for such a long video. The amount of work that went into this is insane and the final quality is simply amazing. Gameplay and narration were also great.
Thank you everyone who worked on this!
What a lovely find!
Agreed! Fantastic job considering it came from someone besides Vinny
The Spiderman pizza music at 56:12 absolutely destroyed me. Bravo.
Glad you enjoyed!
The younger Nomai had more squiggly and loose handwriting whereas the older ones had tighter handwriting.
The emotional weight of this and the skeletons in the room kills me
I think the young Nomai were learning to write by hand to learn the language, while the older ones could use the staff we see Solanum using on the Quantum Moon's sixth location.
@@TheColorman I think maybe using the staff correctly is itself a skill You see Solanum entering something on some kind of tablet when talking to you, maybe that's something that the Nomas struggle with more when their younger. Either way, it's still a nice touch
Fun fact, this game played a major role in bringing me out of young earth creationism. I finished it and, much like what you talked about at the end of the video, my childhood love of astronomy and science in general was reignited. A few days later, while I was looking into evolutionary biology and all the other fields of science I was trained to ignore all my life, NASA released an image of a supernova and the starlight problem fnally hit as I realized it would've taken 70 million years for the sight of the explosion to reach us. Long story short, this game actually changed my life. There were definitely several contributing factors, but Outer Wilds made me open to it all. It made me curious again.
I can relate to this! This game played a small part in a larger picture for me that involved a love for studying natural selection and academic biblical scholarship (spoiler, your parents and your pastor have no idea what Genesis 1 is talking about). Glad to hear you have made a similar journey.

Man it's rare to see comments with this much effort put into them anymore
41:39 "allegedly"
42:00 "I didn't say allegedly, did I?"
I just realized that in every loop the probe launches into a new direction in order to find the eye.
I never understood while playing why it was different each time despite it being a time loop. (shouldn't it be the same?) But that is what the ash project was, you stored your memories (aka the data of each probe launch) and then a new one was sent out the next time, eventually you had enough to map out where the eye was almost instantaniously.
Yes, there a hologram depicting this exact behavior. I think it was in the core of Giant's Deep but I may be wrong here.
Quantum weirdness!
Yeah, the statue head in the probe means that it keeps it's "memories" between loops as well and always checks a new area
This is a very old reply but yes, the core of Giant's Deep where you get the coordinates from has this information, though you may not realize it. Go back and play with the golden liquid, eventually you will see a hundred little lines branching in every direction until it hones in on one spot (the Eye)
The text reads how many loops there have been, and how many loops it has been since it has found the Eye. You can take these numbers and subtract them from one another to tell you precicely the amount of loops you have played in the game.
The most big-brain part of this is that you must realize that the universe has been looping that many millions of times.
The amount of loops you remember is simply only the ones it has been since it has been since it has found the Eye... and turned on the statues to ALLOW you and Gabbro to remember the loops at all. Solanum already had hers, but you needed the Eye coordinates for the Statues.
TL;DR millions of loops. You only remember about a hundred, because the Eye was nearly impossible to find.
Now go play the DLC if you haven't 😉
@El Canal del Peps HIGHLY recommend the DLC
The fact he almost accidentally got the most interesting ending (with own copy still alive) is such a nice touch.
I mean, no matter what his own copy would die within the ATP
@@casualbird7671 yes, but iirc if you enter The Eye before supernova you don't get thrown out for making a paradox.
@@cola98765 right, but shouldn't that self still die from the atp collapsing? Time still continues after you enter the eye, you're just outside of time now, maybe
@@casualbird7671 from the world perspective yes, the causality would break the moment you enter the eye, but from game perspective, sun is unloaded stopping the loop.
If the clone dies then when you reload it's no longer there.
The editing at 2:10:26 is CLEAN! That part caught me off guard in a good way.
@Fart Blackson for a fanmade stream highlights compilation, it's an unexpected amount of care and dedication
Holy heck. That transition 🥺
Your sense of timing and attention to detail really comes through in these edits. The progression is really organic and it doesn't feel like I'm missing anything. Your implementation of things like the loop timer and the reinforcement of the story via flashbacks while Vinny was reading was really neat and made this not just feel like a cheap content steal (which is something compilations are really susceptible to). I feel like some things were a little more invasive than they should've been though. I liked the placement of the Loop text (it's like a UI element where you never fully lose track of it but manage to stop seeing it when you don't need it), but the timer felt a little big and kinda fought for my attention over the gameplay when the loop was ending. The added music also felt a little loud at times and sorta detracted from the vibe the game was setting on its own. Those are pretty minor though and might be more subjective than problematic.
Just giving the input because it seems like everyone is offering their support, and I wanted to contribute my own. You've got good stuff going here and I'd like to have this same flow in other highlights, so I hope you keep making them. Keep it unique!
I pretty much agree with everything here, well put. Really nice job on the video overall.
I agree with everything (except for the Timer and the Loop text)
It's really well made.
I appriciate the reminders to previous events being in grayscale and loop numbers.
But I miss the "cannoninacly Vinny..." joke from I think.... 2nd or 3rd stream.
The one where someone in chat said "I heard Vinny cannonically doesn't like [something]"
The added music is really bugging me too
2:09:45 the chills. The absolute awe you experience stepping into the ash twin for the first time. There's nothing like it.
I loled when he finally got to Feldspar's camp and forgot to put his suit on 😂
56:10
1:05:46 Vinny accidentally solved the puzzle to reach the Quantum Moon's North Pole without realizing it and before learning about the North Pole rule! I bet a lot of people never even realized they solved that puzzle in the first place.
No, he learned about the north pole rule way before.
my hypothesis: at every big bang, the eye of the universe is opened. it's something only the most curious beings will seek out but it seems like inevitably, at some point, someone is bound to get there first. After a conscious observer enters the eye, it "closes" and time basically skips ahead to the heat death of the universe. then the next one can be observed.
The heat death of the universe happens reguardless of whether or not anyone finds the eye. The nomai managed to create a machine that could someone in a time loop, giving them unlimited time to find The Eye, sort of.
What visiting the eye allows you to do is to out-live the current universe. The eye is safe from the supernovas of all the other stars in the universe. You live to see the collapse of the current world, and then enter the eye.
I'm not sure what exactly entering the eye does at this point, but it doesn't speed up the process of the universe collapsing - that's happening anyways.
@@ImortalZeus13 I'm pretty sure entering the eye and collapsing the endless possibilities to one within it allows for the rebirth of the universe in form of that one possibility you randomly collapsed it to...
Now that I think of it more, it probably means the universe is quantum and the Eye stores all of it's possible forms, but the Eye needs a conscious observer to collapse it to one. That's why you're still there to witness the new big bang. You observe it untill the universe is fully born?
So you're not just there with a selfish purpose to outlive the universe. You're the "fifth element", a necessary component for the universe to be born again.
@@HaronYoungerBro Yeah that's how I interpret it, observation by a conscious being is the thing that kick-starts the Big Bang, as before that it is just infinite possibility, before collapsing into a new universe, which can then produce another conscious being to kick-start the next, and the next and so forth. Looked at this way it's like there's a symbiosis between the universe itself and the beings within it, constantly giving rise to each other, which I think is pretty beautiful.
the end of the DLC kinda elucidates some of these points
Fun bonus hypothesis: any "accessory" items that fall into the eye become quantum anomalies in the next universe.
Our little scout becomes the next universe's equivalent of the Quantum Moon
I've played this game 3 times over and watched over 20 separate playthroughs of this game and never saw the multiple players at once thing...plus the editing of this was great and this game is great. Great.
Glad you enjoyed!
That was added later in a patch. Before then you couldn't open the device to the black hole inside. If you do that, while there's two of you, every ending will be the break fabric of space time ending
@@atheist101 Not every ending. If there's two of you, you can maintain the time loop by ending every loop by entering the black hole again. Honestly it's just easier to get the bad end and reload in the long run.
Seeing Solanum at the end still breaks my heart I love her so much
Omg this is hilarious, the cut screams of flying into the sun.
This needs more love, an amazing compilation in timing, music choice and editing. Well done!
I got Outer Wilds because of Dinty's personal endorsement of it during Bugsnax. Then as soon as I flew into the red dot on dark bramble my first thought was "I gotta see Booti shit his pants like i did"
Venus definitely had a fun time in Dark Bramble, as well as did!
Shadowsauce lol, also great edit, keep up the great work!!!
1:31:04 just appreciating how you made the loop count synchronize with the blinking
This was perfectly edited.
dude what is it with this game, i finished it and now im sad i cant replay it knowing nothing so i gotta do it vicariously through others. thanks for this great video, my friend and i who played through the game together rewatched this and we had a blast
Ahh the great curse of this games replayability. I would give anything to experience this game's mysteries again.
Glad you and your friend enjoyed!
There is DLC now and in short it is just more of this game so now you can! Enjoy exploring the echoes of the eye!
You just put into words as to why I love to watch let's plays of my favorite games so much.
2:20:19 him entering the black hole at the ATP was a ticking time bomb that detonated at the best possible time
2:28:58 “If I had a nickel for every time I destroyed the fabric of spacetime, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice, right?”
2:20:20 I HAVE NO WORDS, OH GOD, IT'S HILARIOUS
I just finished a totally blind playthrough of OW yesterday and watching this was such a treat. It's obvious you invested a ton of time, care, and energy to create an incredible curation of clips and I can't wait to check out the rest of your work!
Never make comments, but I felt super inclined to after watching this. You put a lot of care and effort into making this edit super special, and considering Outer Wilds was one of my all time favorite games, and Vinny's one of my all time favorite personalities, I can see myself coming back to enjoy this video a lot.
Thanks a TON for the work you did on this, and I'll absolutely be sticking around to see what you do in the future!
man this game is so good
years later I'm in a geology lecture and I finally realize all the Hearthians were named after types of rocks/minerals
The part at 1:17:35 is magical.
This edit is amazing. It perfectly captures the essence of Vinyot's streams and this specific stream series as a whole, all while condensing it into a more manageable package to watch. I also wanna give props to Shadowsauce for lining up Loop 26 with 1:15:00, marking the second half of the 50 loops at the second half of the video.
I....didn't realize Loop 26 was halfway through the video, that's amazing!
Vinny's VODs of this game are some of my favourites of his in years. Therefore, I wanted to capture Vinny's playthrough (including story beats) as well as the overall experience of the game itself into a condensed package.
I would definitely suggest everyone first play the game, its truly one in a lifetime, and then watch Vinny's livestreams because its great to see how he reacts to the game.
Anyway, glad you enjoyed!
Your edits are great lad, I really think a lot of people would enjoy your stuff if they gave it a try. Regardless thanks for these awesome edits.
Thank you for watching, I don't mind the low views. As long as people enjoy these videos I'm happy :D
Love the moment at 35:14, great way to show off why I love this game. At the beginning you wake up each time looking at a strange thing arround a green planet, but as you explore you learn why and you can feel proud of what you've learned. Than you see something you still know absolutely nothing about.
The way this playthrough is edited is so good! The little things like adding the timer when it's relevant and showing us what loop he's on are great. And the way previous clips are played while he is reading the dialog perfectly shows what I love most about this game. The way this game has you piece together lore based on both your personal observations and clues left by the Nomai is incredible, and this editing captures that feeling so well for me.
Also, I love the use of Mario Galaxy's ost haha.
I'm glad you enjoyed! This compilation took a long time, since I wanted to give the game the respect it deserves as well as Vinny's casual streams of it. I had a lot of fun with the revelation at the end of the game.
I agree this is one of the best games to come out of the last decade. The way it teaches mechanics without out-right saying what to do, is great as well as having to complete some pretty challenging puzzles. My personal favorite moment is talking to the Nomai lad on the Quantum moon, there's something so mystical and eerie about that confrontation, I haven't really felt in games before.
This is amazingly well done. You added your own flairs without detracting from the energy of vinny's streams. Also like others have said, the editing at 2:10:30 is just really excellent
The streams of this game were some of the best I've ever watched from Vinny. Thanks for making this compilation of it! Your compilations never cease to amaze me with how good they are.
Fantastic supercut. I love what you did with the flashbacks during a certain lore-heavy reading late in the video. Great work!
when Vinny was streaming this, I avoided watching so as to not spoil the game because I was interested in it, but couldn't play it. I just finished the game now, a year later and remembered those streams, and here I am. huge kudos on your editing, this was put together amazingly well!
If you are even the slightly interested, I heavily implore you to play the game first. EDIT: after watching the whole video, I feel this even more strongly. Playing the game blindly is absolutely the way to go.
I haven't finished the video yet, but I'm enjoying it. Good stuff. I will, however, say that if anyone out there is interested in playing the game, while major story stuff might be cut, this is a game for which a playthrough will inevitably spoil something. The game is about exploration and knowledge. Watching this video will inevitably spoil the experience to some degree.
And this game is an absolutely awesome experience in the truest sense of the word.
Edit:
I watched it all and I wanted to say that this was a really cool journey to go through with you Vinesauce. Your presentation and editing really added to it too. It was masterful and tasteful. Awesome video. Good on you. Looking forward to watching you tackle the DLC. sometime. I might even watch the streams in their entirety until then.
Awesome.
I still will say that anyone who wants to play the game should do so before watching the video. The video spoils major stuff of the game. The game will absolutely not be the same if you watch this video before playing it. It spoils major moments. I think that this is simply unavoidable with this kind of game. As I said before, the game is about knowledge and discovery. If you watch this video before playing it, you are robbed of the discovery. I think it's much better to play the game in its entirety and then come and watch this video afterwards.
The video is a great journey for those who have already played the game themselves.
I love how the Nomai personify everything!
This was an amazing compilation, thank you for making this
Fantastic editing. I loved all the flashbacks that helped bring it all together, including moments I hadn't realized tied together.
This was such a lovely edit of pretty much all I needed to see. Thanks for putting this together in such a convenient fashion!
this editing is absolute perfection. thank you
This is fantastically done. The playthrough is by someone who can mix having fun with experiencing the moments and emotions of the game, and the editing and composition presented it beautifully in a way that a raw playthrough cut could never do. Thank you.
Damn, I LOVE the editing! The way you added clips to show how things came together was especially nice to see. This is definitely one of my favorite games of all time, and I'm glad to see someone who was as affected as I was by it.
Your editing is so good. Not overbearing, just enhances the experience. Ty
this video is soo good.
such a great compilation of the lore in the game
I liked the part where he flew into the sun.
Thank you for this amazing super cut, amazing editing really made it a bit easier to understand the story.
I didn't want to watch vinny's outer wilds playthrough a third time right now so I really appreciate this awesome compilation, thanks a ton
I really like how you edited this with the humor, the flash backs, and respect for the lore. I've already seen several play-throughs of this, and I find watching your very enjoyable and useful in allowing me to understand the lore and game. Thank you everyone who helped produce this play-through. And thank you game Developers for such a high quality game!
I always enjoy Vinesauce edits. I’m glad to have stumbled across you’re channel. Your cuts gave me some good laughs. I hope more of the community finds your edits. You’ve done a great job.
This is by far the best stream highlights video I've ever seen. The vibe of the commentary and game are so perfect and the editing and cutting you've done here is just impeccable. 10 10
This is the best supercut I've ever seen. Not just if Outer Wilds, but of any stream. Love the care and editing put into it.
this edit is SO GOOD! the counter, timer, and flashbacks are fantastic
the editing on this is impeccable, thanks for the video!
I was expecting compilations of outer wilds, thank you so much
This could be nomiated for best film tbh, very nice editing, i find myself rewatching it and even cried during the end, very well done on all fronts!
I wouldn't go that far, but I definitely had a lot of fun making this compilation. I've seen a lot of other people make note of the revelation at the end of the game, so I'm glad I was able to get this games story across in Venus's playthrough.
I just want to say amazing video. It almost made me feel like I did back when I played the game for the first time. A truly wonderful experience.
This is the first playthough I've watched that made me enjoy this as much as I did my first time! You are underrated and have earned a sub!
Very cool, thank you so much. I love the extra effort during the Ash Twin readouts.
I love Vinny's deep appreciation for the complex, beautiful, and tragic storytelling in this game contrasted with Jerma who at no point ever knew what the fuck was going on.
So much effort went into this. You did a great job of capturing the feeling of the entire playthrough
I'm glad you enjoyed!
Just seeing this video now and your editing during the stuff inside the interloper..? God tier.
Dark Bramble might be my most favorite place in any game, they did such a phenomenal job.
Funny you say that cause it just might be my LEAST favorite place in any game....
Fish are scary
This is one of the best made compilations I've ever seen.
Thank you, very much!
Thanks for making this. What an amazing game. Thanks again.
That's an amazing and clean edit, so happy i sumbled upon it, thank you!
Nice edition, happy to see people are still putting effort into these compilations, got me a good couple of chuckles.
This was some top-tier editing, hilarious!
16:30 was too perfect for words
My dude, your editing is some of the best I've ever seen. The music you use, the way you know exactly when to cut, the accurate count of the loops, you took Vinny's run through this game and elevated it to art. I got mad respect for you, seriously well done.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video.
Thank you.
Great video! Lots of details I didn't catch from skimming the vods.
Honestly, absolutely great content here. And on one of my favourite games of all time.
Goddamn this was a good video. I'm constantly looking for new outer wilds related videos like reviews and playthroughs to fill the gap in me left by playing this game myself. I thought about watching vinny's full vods of this one at some point but never got to it after seeing his (imo) semi slow pace, so as soon as I saw this video in my recommended I immediately clicked, a 2.5 hour compilation of the better parts of the game just seemed so perfect and boy did it not disappoint. I watched the entire video on one sitting, thanks to your brilliant editing and comedic timing. Keep it up man
Also I find it really funny that vinny really managed to die in almost every single possible way, even ways that I didn't know could happen like the spaceship reactor exploding
This is an amazing cut, Thank you so much for putting the time and effort into making it
Glad you enjoyed!
What a great video. I'll never be able to play Outer Wilds again for the first time - but watching others experience it will always be a joyful experience.
I've watched way too many playthrough of OW and yours was the best of em all. That editing is brillant and made it super nice to watch, and some parts were simply hilarious. Thank you ;)
Really fantastic editing, this game deserves it
Fantastic editing, this was amazing to watch.
this is an incredible edit. Thank you so much. I think one of my favorite bits is the inclusion of calling it "The Bean Chamber"

Bless his naive soul, he still thinks the ash twin project/sun station is what's blowing up the sun
So what's causing the sun to explode
The star has simply reached the end of it’s lifecycle as the universe is coming to an end
