@@LukasJampen legit one of my favourite moments in all of gaming. Throughout the whole game you are thinking of stopping the supernova. You cannot control everything, you cannot stop the flow of time. You have to let things go and just enjoy the ride till it lasts
@@pramitpratimdas8198 I think this is exactly why I freaking love Life is Strange. The name itself is saying it to you: the life is something that happens, and you are just one person in the middle of it. It is gonna be weird, dangerous, sad, happy, funny, boring, exciting... And it will be the same for everyone so, when you think THE ENTIRE WORLD is about you, well, it probably isn't. You need to understand it, to know everything and everyone exist in their own. You need to let things happen, you cant can't go back and change it or stop the time so the bad part never comes, because it is necesary for the rest of the good things to happen. I love good stories. I LOVE them.
@@pramitpratimdas8198 "We were there together. The final voices of a dying universe, passing the torch to the next one. May their campfires be surrounded by good cheer, good friends. And most important of all...marshmallows." -SovietWomble, after his playthrough :)
I always wanted to break the 22m cycle for good, maybe because I am very accustomed to time travel loop desasters. Regarding the supernova. Actually we solve how to enter the eye before the supernova occurs, so the eye of the universe deletes the current universe together with the dying sun before it explodes. Temporarily seen you stopped the supernova - together with everything else.
high five for crying at the "the nomai never got to see it for themselves, but thanks to their efforts and technology, a hearthian was able to reach the eye of the universe". i did the same. :( phenomenal playthrough
Such a nice idea to make your own supercut! I had been going through your let's play videos slowly but due to my limited time and decimated attention span these days, I struggle to watch full playthroughs and these kinds of edits are great for that. And now I don't have to wait for someone like Eelis to cut this together.
Aw yay I’m happy to hear that! This is exactly why I wanted to make one, because I have the same issue sometimes where I really like a series but just can’t sit through ALL of it, but when I cherry pick episodes I lose context and get confused. It also feels like a nice little bow to wrap up the base game with 🎀
I love the impact the sun station has. That moment of realization that there's no machine prompting the end of your star that you can stop and the game gives you a few minutes in the station to process that fact. There are tons of great moments in this game but to me, that one is underappreciated. An answer you have been looking for since the beginning and the brutal silence that comes with understanding it.
This is one of the main parts I watch for when someone else plays the game. Everything leading up to that is discovering the history of the Nomai and their search for the Eye, leading to the Ash Twin Project. It’s so obvious that you just need to deactivate the sun station and save yourself and all of your friends, because that’s what we do in video games. Then you get there. And find out that the Nomai have seemingly been dead for >200,000 years. And the sun is simply dying. And there’s nothing you can do. It’s such a powerful, humbling moment, and it always brings me right to the edge of tears.
@@hazamax2139 the funny thing is I didn't come to that realisation then. When I found out the sun station had failed, I thought the Interloper was the cause, then I watched it crash into the sun and I was sure I knew that was what was causing the sun to go supernova. Hell I didn't even realized the sun was dying on its own until a few days after I finished the game, I didn't read the tablets inside the Eye version of the observatory so I didn't get the summary of the story, and I was very confused for a while, then I started thinking about the game events and some stuff wasn't adding up so I started watching other people play and then it hit me. It's amazing how the order you discover events in this game can totally influence the way you perceive things.
i seem to have had a different experience with the sun station to most people, but one that still resulted in similar feelings i think i found out very early in the game, from talking to chert near the end of a cycle, that all the stars in the universe were going supernova, so i kind of already knew the sun station wasnt the cause. but i still went there, clinging onto the hope that there was something i could still do. "maybe every star in the entire universe just also has its own sun station?" i thought to myself. the sun station *had* to have been involved somehow right? i already figured out what was going to happen at the sun station, but my desire to potentially save the universe still made me cling onto the hope that there was something i could do. i spent those few minutes in the sun station finally accepting something that the game put me into denial about, staring into the sun as it got bigger and bigger.
Gabbro saying something about a cycline lifting up his island, while a cycline is lifting up his island, and then he just continues playing his flute, is the most Gabbro thing I have ever seen from this game.
He was one of the first things I found too. I think if you notice the seed on Timber Hearth right away it's kind of obvious. And there's no fish if you follow your probe's signal to Feldspar.
@@CrowsofAcheron I found Feldspar pretty early on too. All the villagers talking about them being missing but me hearing the harmonica clear as day coming from Dark Bramble made it the most enticing early game mystery. I did a few other things first, like exploring the Attlerock and Timber Hearth, but "rescuing Feldspar" was a huge early priority for me. And I don't believe I ran into any anglerfish the first two, maybe three times entering Dark Bramble. 😅
The most fun is that she find Feldespar in almost the exact same way Feldespar theyself reach that place: Rocket at full force while escaping angler fish
So the jump at the Sun Station was so hard it led to a montage, but somehow parkouring the black hole forge elevator to the top succeeds in one attempt xD
Watched all the others and watching this now. Beat Eelis to the punch! But seriously, your emotion during the whole playthrough and particularly toward the end of the game broke me down crying as well and helped me appreciate the game even more. This is the best Outer Wilds playthrough I have ever witnessed. Keep doing what you're doing!
This is the only game I have ever, in my 30 years of gaming cried like a baby at the end of, at 1am when my wife and kids were asleep in their beds, this old dad sobbed in the lounge.
It hit me hard at 25 when I did it my first playthrough and her reaction at the end was so real and emotional I cried again. The ending homage to her "Intro Camera Person" and naming them "My Better 50%," also got me real good.
During my playthrough I couldn't understand at all how teleporters worked, I spent a long time trying to ride the forge, but I ended up piloting the ship through the city and landing it upside down on the top part
I have a funny story about the end of the game. So, my first time playing, I didn't actually get the real ending, I just thought I beat the game. I never realized that I could go to the Eye etc, so what I did is that I just took the core and went to watch the Sun go supernova together with Chert. And then I stopped playing, thinking that I was just supposed to let the game be once I figured out what happened to the Nomai and the system. Only a year later when I watched someone else on RUclips play the game and realized that I could actually get to the Eye, I stopped the video immediately not to spoil it for myself and then went and did it in the game finally (since you can literally beat the game in one loop if you know what to do). In a way I had two different endings to the game, the first time kind of just accepting the inevitable, and then the second time having that beautiful catharsis of starting a whole new universe.
I almost did the same thing. I read "Removing the core will stop the Ash Twin Project" and thought "No, wait, I don't want it to end! There's so much more to discover!" and left it, but I was fully convinced that would just be the end. When I later visited The Vessel I figured it out.
Everyone says that everyone has their own unique experience in the game. But I always had a bit of a hard time grasping that. Just how different could everyone's experience of it really be? But comments like yours check me on that. It absolutely cement that into reality. It truly is a vastly different experience for everyone. As it clearly was for you. ❤
I beat the game without going to the quantum moon. I mentioned to my brother that after all that talk about it, you never actually end up going there. He was like "you didn't go??". It was like a bonus going and getting the ending again with the addition of Solum.
Had similar with RDR, I get happy ending. He got his family back, I just didn't know that there is one more quest... few years later on some forum somebody mention how sad ending was and I was like "WTF?!?", I get back to game and reach to final ending.
You can't. We can't forget the past and our experience. But that's ok, the only thing we can do is pass this masterpiece to our friends and the people we love, to experience this once again ❤
One of the most genuine and heartfelt playthroughs I have ever watched of Outer Wilds. This is the kinda playthrough I crave now when I'm trying to fill the hole in my soul that Outer Wilds left me with. Thank you Becca for the super cut, and thank you for staying curious!
@@adamiskykins this game is genuinely a work of art, and it's something EVERYONE who beats the game wishes they could experience for the first time again... There is so much magic in this game, and it's a game that even manages to PERFECT the idea of DLC. To the point where the DLC enhances the ending, has an insanely bittersweet ending of its own, and makes sense in universe how it exists... This game is a thing of beauty... See you among the stars, stranger!
It would have been so fucking funny if you said "if it makes you feel any better, we're in a time loop" to chert AS YOU WERE HOLDING THE WARP CORE effectively killing everyone but unknowingly lying to chert because you deactivated the ATP lmao
The way you wear your heart on your sleeve, how invested you get in all the characters, remembering the Nomai's names and paying attention with to suss out what era of Nomai are talking... This might just be my favorite Outet Wilds playthrough. I don't think I've cried this much at the ending then crying alongside you. It's such a perfectly created melancholy, so bitter yet so sweet. Also I only just now realized that I'm the Eye of the Universe forest sequence, the Nomai skeletons are standing on each other shoulders, like they did for generations building up to this great discovery, and how you essentially stand on their shoulders to bring them with you into this new universe 😭
Your playthrough was amazing, you pick up on things super quick and really let yourself be involved in the story and get emotionally attatched to the story and the characters. I feel like you have the perfect personality to be a Let's-Play-RUclipsr! Since you seem to want to focus on "existential" type games I recommend SOMA but beware, it's not cozy at all, it's creepy and might be kinda stressful but if you're up for it the existential and philosophical questions that game raises are totally worth it. Whatever you do next (after OW DLC), I'll be watching :)
YOU ARE SO SMART for instantly figuring out that you use the warp pads for the sun station!!!! I took way too long to realize that. Wayyy too long. As in I got the Hotshot achievement for manually flying there before I figured out the pad ._. Edit: Okay and you figured out the deaths were instantaneous quickly as well. Edit: "Cam I just ride that?" you looking at the storm on Giant's Deep and I'm like, oh no you can't gotta go from above and then down. Then you just actually ride it up and over like a badass lmao. Edit: Your genius is almost frightening. Edit: I just finished the supercut and man, I'm just crying my eyes out again. I cannot get through the end of the game myself or watching anyone play it without crying. Thank you for playing! I really enjoyed the playthrough and I adore your style and sincerity in the videos. I want to watch you play more games
It's so refreshing to finally find a channel where the player actually cares about this game's themes and how utterly tragic the ending is. Everyone else I've watched are just silent and then laugh it off, it's weird but it's nice to see someone actually crying along with me. What a great video, glad she enjoyed the venture.
What always made it for me with this game was the fact that *everything* was right there in front of you, and it is only your curiosity that leads you instead of any quest markers that allows you to unveil the mysteries of the past that make it possible for a future to be built. The fact that all the Travelers play the same song at the same time is also a soul-crushing (in a positive sense) concept. Thank you for sharing with us!
Nobody makes games like this. Something that is driven by the curiosity inside you that can only be experienced once. It's so selfless of a game Dev to make something like this. Truly pushed what the boundaries of this medium can do. I understand why some people can't get behind it but it's such a shame that we don't incentivize making more experiences like this.
I am so impressed by how well you picked up everything the game was trying to tell you. When you ended the loop accidentally you knew right away something was probably up and you immediately understood why the loop ended, what the warp core would likely be for and what the next step you needed to take was (going to giant’s deep). The flow of logic was beautiful :)
2:29:50 you were NOT supposed to do that! That's amazing! You were supposed to activate the Forge, then teleport from the tower in Ash Twin. I tried to do what you did MANY times and I always slipped off the thing. Way to go!
A while ago I saw a phrase from a video that define how this game changed me: "The Universe is beautiful and I'm no longer afraid to die"... because just... The universe is, and we are.
I dont think you ever found it, but inside one of the timber hearth caves theres a super neat painting that shows the nomai finding a new species that look like blue tadpoles and have 4 eyes. So technically hearthians and nomai did meet at one point
Everything from the stress of the Warp Core run, to cutting the coordinates until the very last minute, to the very emotional finale. What an impactful way to finish such a beautiful, special game. Subbed!
Oh wow, an entire super cut! Now I know what to watch when I’m bored. I’ve played this game twice, and watch two different playthroughs, and this is the only playthrough that actually made me cry. Don’t get me wrong, I was emotional all the other times, but something about this playthrough just made it even more.
So cool! Gonna watch the whole thing when I get a chance, but for now, thanks for uploading this great playthrough! Outer Wilds is one of those media experiences that had a profound effect on who I am as a person and it’s great getting to watch someone else go through it.
i loved how enthusiastic you were in throwing yourself into the immersion of the game and empathizing with all of the characters and their stories. also love that you didn't edit out your strong emotional reactions, and even kept in some discussions about them (particularly mentioning your anxiety and needing to take breaks). gaming isn't typically a space that welcomes emotional openness and vulnerability, so it's really cool to see more people who are willing to wear their hearts on their sleeves unapologetically. outer wilds is definitely a story that will demand extreme emotional intensity if you choose not to force a layer of dissociation between yourself and the experience of playing it, but that intensity is what ultimately builds the foundation for the unparalleled catharsis delivered by that final orchestral sting as the new universe is born. i'm glad to see another person who opened themself up to that experience so completely.
Well, that's also a way to get to the black hole forge 😯 And holy crap, that was the clutchest freaking warp to the eye I have seen! Thank you for posting your playthrough, I enjoyed watching it! Thank you for wearing your emotions on your sleeve! Welcome to Outer Wilds Ventures astronaut! o7
Because the ash twin towers were one of the last things I properly understood, I flew my ship under the crust of brittle hollow, turned upside down, and bailed out into the ceiling lol
I also tried to ride the black hole forge up to the top and I must say that is much harder than it looks. It is really easy to slide off of it and then your loop is basically over as you warp to white hole station. Also, would you believe that I had a slightly closer call with the warp to the eye? I didn't have any of the coordinates in when I heard the nova start and I only noticed that they were on screen a second or two later. I kept messing up the coordinates because I was so nervous and I made it just as I heard the supernova about to hit. I had to take a break for my own sake after that stress. For some reason it was the most high stakes moment in any game for me even though I could technically just come back next cycle but I think the finality of it all got to me in the best way. I love this game.
I feel backstabbed, betrayed, and quite possibly bamboozled. I went to your channel hoping to watch more playthroughs of other games by you and turns out this is your first series? damn man. Def got a new sub in me and awaiting your next series/continuation of the dlc? Hope you do the DLC and if you want recommendations on more geeky games that make you think that are more about an experience/story like outer wilds, I'd recommend Antichamber, The Sexy Brutale, Hypnospace Outlaw, Return of the Obra Dinn, The Beginners Guide, The Stanley Parable, and Oneshot.
I would love to save your comment, I have put the 4 games on my list that I haven't already played yet. Thank you so much for the recommendations! I hope I get to enjoy some of those games with a person that is very dear to my heart.
the most amazing playthrough i've ever since, never felt so emotionally invested since my outer wilds playthrough back in 2023. the genuine cry on the final moment are insane, it's very nice to see someone that resonate with this game like I did. you gained a subscriber :)
This piece of art here has done more to help me and countless others except death and our own mortality more than anything I can think of. The fact that it effects so many people reminds me that we are never alone going into that deep unknowable void. Who knows if we'll be a conscious observer of what is next, but i do believe there is a next no matter what. The rules may change, but as long as some sort of consciousnesses emerges there will be experiences and that is really what life is about. Experiencing life and hopefully sharing that experience with others. Thank you for your playthrough, and adding on to our experience of this beautiful life.
Outer Wilds is simply one of Those™ games. It's difficult to sell it to people without potentially ruining an experience. But what an exciting and emotional ride we all strap in for in the end. Coming to terms with the finality of it all and resolving to make it to the end anyway in order to go out in the Biggest Bang possible, after overcoming the fears and challenges presented on each planet you visited. Peak.
This right here is my favorite play-through I’ve seen. Not because of weird random moments, or incredibly puzzle solving (which you did have), but because the emotional impact it had on you. It’s made me feel the closest to what it felt to play it for the first time, because I shared the same reaction. Thank you for that.
while i BAWLED my eyes out when i first beat this game, i never really cried while watching someone else play it. that is until today, your gameplay was amazing and im glad someone else felt as emotional over the ending as i did when i experienced it ::')
Canonically, she was launching herself straight into the sun for many many years, every 22 minutes. That loop was happening long before the character gained consciousness. The first death ever is what was happening all the loops the player wasn’t conscious. So in her story the character just went “oooh twins” followed by “oh no, the sun has gravity” about a billion times
there was no time loop just the retrieving of the orbital probe cannon's data. the hatchling did not experience those loops, there just was one 22 minute long future that couldve been 9 million times but wasnt because of the ash twin project. however in all of those 9 million possible futures, becca launched herself into the sun lmao
@@meow-px6kk "there was no time loop just the retrieving of the hatching's data." You see how that works? Either the cycles both before and after the hatchling gained consciousness were time loops or none were. Unless we are fully privileging the hatchling's perspective as the final arbiter on whether time was looped or not, which, I don't know why we should.
its amazing how quickly you solved puzzles and asked the correct questions. Your intuition is scary and how easy it is for you to pick up on things. Which makes it all the more funny how much you struggled with the controls and flying and finishing the game not knowing to turn off the flashlight for the quantum stuff lol
Every time I get the opportunity to re-experience this masterpiece through others, I immediately jump to it. This was such a lovely playthough, very sweet editing at the start too!
When simply reading the devs' thank-yous makes you cry, you know it was a great game. Wish I could experience Outer Wilds for the first time again, but watching others experience it will have to do. Great playthrough and I loved how much you loved it
Single best playthrough of this game I’ve ever seen - I think most importantly because of the emotional impact, but man you just nailed the logic of the puzzles too
This was such a well done supercut, and such a genuinely joyful playthrough to watch I'm at a loss for words. Instant subscription and I very much look forward to all your future content.
Due to being terrified of space, I’ve never been able to play this game myself, despite trying. So instead I’ve watched dozens of different playthroughs to see other people realising how truly wonderful this game is. Your playthrough is one of my favourites, you are so earnest and watching you play this lovely game is a true joy and has perfectly replicated the bittersweet ambivalence I felt when I watched a playthrough for the first time. Subscribed :)
It was really fun to see your unique order of discovering it all! I think everybody attempts to jump into the black forge, but this is the first time I've seen anyone actually succeed at it, first try too! mission status: SICK
There's nothing like being able to re-live some heart wrenching media by watching someone else experience it themselves for the first time. Fantastic supercut, your reactions were so sincere and relateable :') Also terrific little intro at the beginning! Subscribed
beautiful playthrough. considering I've seen most others. this was definitely an emotionally invested one. loved how hesitant you were in the end to complete the group and just sat there listening to the music. we all cried as well.
Just finished this game last night and I felt torn in so many directions. The ending is undeniably sad, but still hopeful. I wanted to save everyone so bad, so being forced to end it felt unfair.. like life, I guess. In any case, finding this video and watching you play helped me parse my emotions. I cried even more than when I beat it, and came to accept and enjoy the ending at least a little bit more. :') Excited to see you play more games!
I had this open in a tab for ages but never got around to watching the entire thing until now after I watched your playthrough of The Beginner's Guide which is another of my absolute favourite games of all time. I love this game so much, and I'm glad to have seen your reaction to its wonders! 💜
I liked your playthrough, your emotional reactions are genuine. Usually when someone goes that emotional it kind of feels exagerated for the audience to have more excitement, but you are just a really emotional being. You have a great personality to do playthoughs with games like this. Echoes of the Eye, don't miss it. Hugs*
This was so much fun to watch. Also, I've watched a dozen or so Outer Wilds plathroughs at this point, and you're the *only* person I've ever seen ride the Black Hole Forge instead of taking the warp tower to get there. Amazing!!
Like many here, i found this after binge watching some of Eelis supercuts And I have to agree that this is one of the best ones i've watched, after finishing this masterpiece and craving for more, your reactions were really showing in a heartwarming way... I wish you the best playthrough of Echoes of The Eye, and cant wait for the super cut of it!
Thank you for bringing us along on your journey. You really can only play this game once, and the closest thing to being able to replay it is through vicariously reliving it through others. It was a delight to watch you discover, and to feel as I felt as you went through it. I can't wait for the DLC, and for any future games you play. :D
honestly, watching this playthrough made me wanna subscribe immediately, how genuine you are throughout this made me really feel like i was playing this for the first time again in a way i havent gotten with many other playthroughs of this game, i cried with you at the end, knowing we never could save them but we can make sure life lives on after us was the best ending for this game, and really subverts beginning expectations of this game.
What a cool play-through! Always like me a good super-cut, respect for editing all this material in a beautiful way, I can really follow your logic and your thoughts (which is the best part of seeing someone experiencing this great piece of art for the first time!!!). Keep it up! Now that I watched the whole video: What a beautiful thing to observe! I loved the sun station montage, I loved the theories - I loved the impact of the realisation in the end. I cried again as much as I do, when I see someone go through this masterpiece. I will watch your take on the DLC for sure, and a will prepare a tissue! Thank you so much.
Thank you very much for this walkthrough and for this supercut, I completed this game a year ago and it seems to me that it will stay with me forever, you can't experience something like this a second time, but videos like this help me at least to see how others get this great experience, thank you very much
Right at the end you cut the bit with the coordinates almost as close as I did my first time playing. I heard the supernova before I even put in the coordinates and I was panicking really badly and fumbling trying to get everything right. I fully expected to die any second but I got it in the nick of time and I had barely processed what was happening. I was shaking really badly from nerves and I just sat there looking at the eye for a while to calm myself. You seem to have had a similar experience and I know for me it was one of the most impactful moments of gameplay in recent memory. This is such a beautiful game and you had such a unique path through it. That's honestly one of my favorite things about it is seeing what paths other people took through the game. For instance, I explored mainly brittle hollow and ember twin first but you went straight for dark bramble like you were on a mission. Just a really wonderful experience as a whole, thank you for sharing your journey to the end of the universe with us.
This was so good! Love the game and your playtrough! If you like here are couple games that have a similar type of vibe and games that i would really like to see you play on this channel, no pressure tho only if you want to. Subnautica, underwater exploration with a mystery. Journey, A small art peace of a game, under 10h with visual storytelling. (Anyone here can comment more if they want). Love your focus and commitment for the story that an amazing game deserves. Keep posting im here for it!
I avoided this supercut because i had watched every single regular video you posted of this playthrough, but it kept being recommended. I finally gave in and you did a great job summing up your whole playthrough. Keep up the good work!
I'm super happy I found this playthrough, this was really close to the way I played the first time. It was nice getting to experience the game again through your playthrough. Looking forward to watching your playthrough of echoes of the eye!
I'm impressed with how quickly you solved the Brittle Hollow tower of quantum knowledge! Maybe that's just because I obsessed over the wrong solution for so long. I was CERTAIN that if I got there fast enough, I could get up the tower. So I did, I'd say, 30 runs trying to get there faster and faster -- only to stumble across the solution on a run where I'd given up and was just putzing around the area.
I don't know why, but I couldn't get into this game, even if I knew I was missing something huge. I started the game a few times, but as soon as I was in space, the taslk overwhelmed me I think. So I kept it on my drive, waiting for the moment. I tried again after a few years, but still couldn't appreciate the game. It's really strange. So I decided to look for a let's play, and I found yours... So thank you, I discovered the game through you, nearly as a player. And I was moved by your way to handle the story and your emotions. I comment here, but it goes for the DLC too. Great work, great storytelling and representation for an incredible game. I'm still a little annoyed not to be able to discover it by myself, but sometimes, you have to make a reason and you lessen the sting of this emotion by sharing your journey: Thank you!
I share you appreciation for the soundtrack. It is a flawless match to the gameplay and story and has such emotion in it. I have a few songs on my Spotify I listen to regularly.
Thank you for making this super cut! Btw, in case your wondering if there are any other experiences like Outerwilds. Tunic is a really fantastic and beautiful crafted game. All I'll say is that it's like Zelda 1 meets Dark Souls, well I guess Zelda 1 is already like Dark Souls with its difficulty, lol. Anyway, excited to see your playthrough of the DLC of Outerwilds!
What a fantastic playthrough! I've watched quite a few of these at this point but you really had me openly crying by the end. I think this story also helped me a lot dealing with some existential dread, it's beautiful to see how this game touches people so deeply - thanks for sharing your experience :)
What an incredible playthrough! You piece things together effortlessly in a way that I have seen very few let's players of this game do before. And my god, that ride up on the Black Hole Forge! I have seen soooo many people try that and you are the only one I've ever seen actually succeed. I fully thought it was impossible. So excited to watch you do the DLC next!
I just finished watching all this, and thought it was great. It's the first Let's Play of Outer Wilds I've seen with such genuine curiosity and emotion, and watching it has allowed this wonderful game to impact me a second time. Thank you.
The cut is wonderfully executed. All your theories and suspicions are so cool and interesting and all the different clips form a really satisfying experience to watch. This game has a very deep significance for me and wathing people play it and enjoy it is so nice. I like your channel a lot! I love story-focused games! :)
Everyone gets to enjoy this game differently, and i've watched at least 20 playthroughs to say this hahaha - But the best ones are those were the player connects with the ingame characters like you did all along, recognize their names, their relationships, and all. You noticed the small details, and that made things hit really hard every time you realized the many tragedies that are at play here. Also thanks for remembering Solanum is a 'she', I don't know why but it feels important to me ::) (noticed how Nomais have two genders, but Heartians only have 'they'? such a neat detail of worldbuilding) For the DLC, regarding how you reacted to some of the scary elements of the game, I suggest you enable "Reduced Freight" option right from the start (or wait until you realize why I say that if you prefer, hahaha). The DLC is absolutely awesome, but it gets quite scary. Can't wait to see more of your playthroughs!
I loved that bit of vulnerability in the description of this vid and throughout, thank you! sometimes it feels like certain games/movies/books/songs/people come into our lives at the right time to make the biggest impact
I have played this game all the way through, and watched 3 other playthroughs and still cried at the end. This game is so precious to me and i'm so glad i discovered this channel. If you like games like these, you should try What Remains of Edith Finch, the whole game takes 2h but it's priceless.
In my own experience with this game, I only worked out the warp towers on Ash Twin long after I'd got the Eye coordinates and found the Vessel, and it's helped me realise something. Solving the warp towers early is seriously such a gamechanger for anyone's playthrough of this game, and it's hilarious that it has no notes in the Ship Logs. It's a big mental note, and helps contextualize a lot of the information you discover later. Obviously there's tons more to find elsewhere in the system, but Ash Twin is kind of the hub point to all of those discoveries. In other news, this video is incredible. I'll be watching through your experience with Echoes of the Eye as well.
I'm very glad I got recommended this playthrough right after I finished the game and DLC myself, which I spread out over a month or two, so I really appreciated the lore reminders as you went through all of the Nomai text that was left behind and engaged with all of it. Such good stuff, and it really served to deepen my own relationship with the game. Now on to watch your DLC playthrough! :D
I'm so sad I never played this game myself before watching these playthroughs. This is the greatest game I've never played and I have to say of all the people I've watched play this game you have one of the best reactions by far to this phenomenal story! Thank you for putting this video together. I want nothing more than to be able to experience this game for the first time again, and this was a fantastic approximation. Tears all over again from me, too. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this. I don't know how to thank you enough that I was able to "play" Outer Wilds for the first time again by watching your video. Thank you. This game forever changed my view of the universe.
Seeing her worry about the Dark Bramble seed on Timber Hearth and want to go warn the villagers... there's something about that I love. Like, she has no idea yet just how pointless it would be to attempt to do anything at all whatsoever about that seed. Oh, you sweet summer child. This game ruined your innocent naivety real quick hahaha. Just like it did mine

That bit at the beginning is such a nice addition to this cut.
“This isn’t what I was looking for, but this feels interesting.” 15:35
Outer Wilds in a nutshell.
It also feels like a nice little bow to wrap up the base game with 🎀
Love how Eelis just became the official Outer Wilds supercut dealer to our vicariously curious addiction haha
I didn't even know Eelis existed and that he did this kind of thing... Thx 😱
Love how Eelis is a constant looming presence
Eelis the goat. Outer wilds is a game you cannot experience twice. Watching outer wilds supercuts is the closest we can get
I love the impact the sun station has. That moment of realization that there's no machine prompting the end of your star that you can stop and the game gives you a few minutes in the station to process that fact. There are tons of great moments in this game but to me, that one is underappreciated. An answer you have been looking for since the beginning and the brutal silence that comes with understanding it.
It's such a moment! I listen to the sun station soundtrack all the time.
Unless you are Oliver, in wich case you only have 0 minutes 7 seconds to process it
i seem to have had a different experience with the sun station to most people, but one that still resulted in similar feelings i think
i found out very early in the game, from talking to chert near the end of a cycle, that all the stars in the universe were going supernova, so i kind of already knew the sun station wasnt the cause. but i still went there, clinging onto the hope that there was something i could still do.
What a clutch escape. At 3:07:54 you can actually see the supernova of our solar system happening.
A truly amazing escape! Something out of a movie, escaping a supernova by a last minute teleport!
Gabbro saying something about a cycline lifting up his island, while a cycline is lifting up his island, and then he just continues playing his flute, is the most Gabbro thing I have ever seen from this game.
Finding Feldspar that early is super interesting.
Especially first try without encountering a fish. It made her later ptsd-inducing discovery all the more hilarious.
@@sundalosketch4769omg, and landing on the black hole forge as it's going up. I tried that SO MANY TIMES. I eventually had to go the official way.

Hope yall are having a great life my dude!
@@KeytarArgonian same. I finished the game last month and I cried alone in the middle of the night while everyone else was sleeping.

Parkouring to the black hole forge is CRAZY
ikr, I’ve never considered just riding the black hole forge up to the top…
@@Xetaas It is really hard to do, I tried it a good few times before I gave up. You would not believe how easy it is to slip off that thing.
It was, legit, easier for me to land my ship upside down by the forge than to parkour there!
I tried that so many fvcking times. I know it's possible, but I just never had the skills to do it.
Major props to her for achieving it!
It was like a bonus going and getting the ending again with the addition of Solum.
yeah i missed the 3rd pod that crashed in the bramble too
Had similar with RDR, I get happy ending. He got his family back, I just didn't know that there is one more quest... few years later on some forum somebody mention how sad ending was and I was like "WTF?!?", I get back to game and reach to final ending.
I wish I could forget about this game so I could play it again. It changed me and the way I see many things.
You are definitely going to love the DLC!
SOMA is fucking terrible. I love it lol
In a similar vein, I recommend disco elysium.
How did you fly there manually 💀💀
Every time I need a good existential laugh/ugly cry, I watch an OW playthrough. Really glad I happened across yours!

Subbed!
2:23:40, wow you actually guessed the point of the whole game and what was happening way before I did, well done.
1:46:04 the QM being on screen twice in a row without you seeing it because you were thinking about how to find it is the most Outer Wilds thing ever
i loved how enthusiastic you were in throwing yourself into the immersion of the game and empathizing with all of the characters and their stories. also love that you didn't edit out your strong emotional reactions, and even kept in some discussions about them (particularly mentioning your anxiety and needing to take breaks). gaming isn't typically a space that welcomes emotional openness and vulnerability, so it's really cool to see more people who are willing to wear their hearts on their sleeves unapologetically. outer wilds is definitely a story that will demand extreme emotional intensity if you choose not to force a layer of dissociation between yourself and the experience of playing it, but that intensity is what ultimately builds the foundation for the unparalleled catharsis delivered by that final orchestral sting as the new universe is born. i'm glad to see another person who opened themself up to that experience so completely.
Well, that's also a way to get to the black hole forge 😯
And holy crap, that was the clutchest freaking warp to the eye I have seen!
I have never, in my play through or dozens I’ve watched on YT seen someone straight up just platform their way up like that.
The Warp to the Eye part stressed me the F out lol

This is still one of the Top 5 playthroughs of the game and I've been watching SO MANY. I always seem to come back to yours.
Peak.
I usually show people Super Bunnyhop's OW video. It was the one that got me interested in the game without spoiling absolutely anything.
This right here is my favorite play-through I’ve seen. Not because of weird random moments, or incredibly puzzle solving (which you did have), but because the emotional impact it had on you. It’s made me feel the closest to what it felt to play it for the first time, because I shared the same reaction. Thank you for that.

Well, in the other loops, the statue didn't activate, so that may have had some effect.
there was no time loop just the retrieving of the orbital probe cannon's data. the hatchling did not experience those loops, there just was one 22 minute long future that couldve been 9 million times but wasnt because of the ash twin project. however in all of those 9 million possible futures, becca launched herself into the sun lmao
Indeed @@kiiyllmaybe the statue activating on this first conscious loop affected things, but perhaps all it did was delay the sun death by a minute
Not a billion just roughly 9,300,000 times :^)
@@meow-px6kk "there was no time loop just the retrieving of the hatching's data."
You see how that works?

I love your reactions. And your voice is so unique and soothing. I think I'll watch the full videos after that just to have more.

This was so much fun to watch. Also, I've watched a dozen or so Outer Wilds plathroughs at this point, and you're the *only* person I've ever seen ride the Black Hole Forge instead of taking the warp tower to get there. Amazing!!

And I have to agree that this is one of the best ones i've watched, after finishing this masterpiece and craving for more, your reactions were really showing in a heartwarming way...
I wish you the best playthrough of Echoes of The Eye, and cant wait for the super cut of it!
This is one of the most unique OW playthroughs I've seen. The sun station bit had me cracking up. Thanks for sharing.
This game's ending NEVER fails to make me cry, so I always love watching over people play it for the first time. Great playthrough!!

I just finished The Outer Wilds yesterday and this is the first playthrough I've watched. I loved it so much. Instantly subbed
Yall have recommended so many good games!! I’m tackling a different game next but Tunic is definitely on my list
Thanks for sharing your experience with this game!
watching you play through the game is the closest i’ve ever gotten back to the feeling of experiencing it for the first time
thanks for that
What a fantastic playthrough!
Thank you.
It is such a joy of fascination to be allowed to experience that magical journey again through your perspective!!!
Also thanks for remembering Solanum is a 'she', I don't know why but it feels important to me ::) (noticed how Nomais have two genders, but Heartians only have 'they'? such a neat detail of worldbuilding)
For the DLC, regarding how you reacted to some of the scary elements of the game, I suggest you enable "Reduced Freight" option right from the start (or wait until you realize why I say that if you prefer, hahaha).
Such a good blind play!
That was great. I really appreciated all the feels from this game
You've earned a subscriber and I can't wait for more.
2:12:44 - sun station montage and "matching the velocity" song. a treat to return to, as ive already come back for it twice now. superb content
